We’ve bought loaves and takeaway snacks as well as browsed amongst other produce etc which are enticing but difficult to justify given their prices. Don’t think that they are necessarily pushing unpalatably high margins, just that the stock here tends to be more accessible to those with fat wallets.

Bought a loaf of organic bread here today. It is absolutely delicious at a cost! Worth it for a treat. All the other stock looked excellent too. Tried apples and butter - all good.

On a wet cold day we discovered Ben's farm shop about a mile from Staverton station where the Devon valley railway steam railway runs cappuccinos were priced at £2.50 and I bought a pain au chocolat for £1.15. They had seating inside and out but actually we took away our drinks to the car because it was so wet! They had a range of fresh fruit and vegetables to buy and also a small gift area as well. Altogether a nice place to stop.

I loved this pub. We walked from Salcombe and it was well worth it (don't worry, you can drive there too). It had the feel of a genuine pub with some good beers that happened to do great food also. I had possibly the best burger I have had in a long time and my wife had a fantastic steak sandwich. Both were freshly prepared scratch. They have vegan options too. I notice some negative reviews, mostly due to poor service. We arrived at 12 noon on a weekday in October. Even so, the place was full by the time we left, so it is clearly a popular place. The service we experienced was without fault. I hope our experience is the norm.

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend and it def did not disappoint. The Aubergine and Tamarind pulp was particularly delicious as was the Kotthu - every dish we had was so tasty! I will look forward to returning next time I am visiting.

We stayed 3 nights, Fri Sat & Sun, very comfortable well furnished room, ensuite, with breakfast (diy) available in little kitchen down the hall. Wonderful old world inn, great bar, and bar food til 8.30 (lunchtime til 5 on Sunday, no evening meal). Very friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful location in the wilds of Dartmoor.
