The best restaurants in West Dart South Hams South West

I ordered a pizza and my friend had one as well , I decided to have the smaller one which was around £3 less, I nearly fell off my chair. It was so small I was embarrassed , my base was white and I assume they ran out of cheese My friends was cooked properly with loads of topping. Do not order a small pizza, order the big one and take what you don't eat home. We had 2 beef madras both said it was medium and not hot enough. We also spotted 3 different people at the carvery using there fingers picking up crackling and putting it back, and Yorkshire puddings. We never had dessert s based on the excessive price, I forgot to mention a gin and lemonade was £10, and over £4 for a lemonade and blackcurrant. A dash of lemonade should be at the most 50p but all pubs rip customers off for soft drinks

We had the best Burns Night dinner at the Durant Arms. The Pub was packed , there were gentlemen in full kiltled evening dress and ladies in posh frocks, also people in jeans and tops with a tartan ribbon in their hair. Everyone was having a fabulous time, and the atmosphere was incredible. The Addess to the Haggis was brilliant. The food was absolutely delicious, inventive interpretation of traditional Scottish dishes. The chef made mashed potato and mashed neeps so rich and lush. The star of my meal was definitely the pud, irnbru ice cream float, with raspberry gel and tea cake. Amazing! The staff were wonderful, the pub was full to bursting but all the food came out quickly and effectively. It was just such great fun and they were so friendly. It was fabulous.

Excellent view. Great selection of specials. Seafood heaven. Lovely selection of pastries too. Additional bonus: They sell bait for fishing and crabbing.

Would have loved to tried to food this is a warm welcoming pub and the food smells and looks amazing we will try and come back to give it a go fantastic menu too👍

What a wonderful pub, Susan and her husband Graeme were so accommodating. The food was so delicious. 2 of our party had diet issues and Susan went out of the way to look after them. Susan made me one of the best Bloody Mary's I have drunk for a long time. Thank you so much.

Visited pub for meal during October holiday. Food was ok , service just ok. Menu limited. Two pubs in the village, I think the other has the edge.

We ordered a devon pasty and a vegetable pasty. Both were inedible. Luke warm to cold. Microwaved so soft. Fillings were horrible. Staff didn't bother to check if meal was OK. We left the food and walked out. Avoid this place. I don't review often and usually only if very good, but this was bad enough to warn others

Extremely disappointing. Food very expensive and accused of walking out without paying despite bill paid before food arrived !! Member of staff hadn’t cleared it from till and no apology made. We run our own business and would have no clients if we ran a business this way !,

Called in for a reviving pint. Had a local beer called Legend which went down very well. Pub is quirky as it has a Post Office counter at one end of the bar. Steepish climb up from the river Dart but worthwhile.

The Sunday Roast is profoundly flavoursome. Absolutely the best roast dinner dining out I have ever had. Even the brocoli was delicious! Hands down, an amazing experience, such a dreamy and delightful plate of food. Yummy!
