The best restaurants in Totnes Town South Hams South West

Went here for a pottery tutor led clay modelling. Update see video of completed pots Jenny our tutor was amazing. Will be booking a pottery throw down. Also great cafe onsite.

Popped into China Blue for lunch, and admired the revamp of the cafe, beautifully designed and finished. Enjoyed the food and coffee as usual. Always worth a visit.

Nice meal. Did not stay so no idea about rooms/breakfast etc. Reasonable service if a bit slow.

Went for lunch, we had the fish pie, it was gorgeous, staff very attentive, & have just booked again. Definitely recommend 👍

The best chicken pad Thai in the south West! I'm obsessed the flavours are amazing and they're so accommodating with adding extras or taking things off! Really beautiful food 10/10 recommend if you're local or just passing through on holiday they're satay sauce is also 👌🏼

Best pizza this side of the 7 Stars Hotel

Being from the midlands we are very well versed in the ways of good quality Indian food, unfortunately this wasn't. Our suspicions were first aroused when approaching the restaurant there was no smell, staff were very pleasant as was the atmosphere, it's a shame the food didn't follow suit. We ordered starters & mains, the starters were out within 2 minutes, just thought they were well prepared. For my main I ordered a Lamb Biryani, this should have taken some time, again was out before we knew it, what could be going on! My suspicion is that this is the Indian version of Paellador in Spain, pre packed frozen Paella for tourists, not unpleasant but Anglicized and bland.

Staff was friendly, Bed an room was comfy enough pub looked nice and band sounded good but after a long days travelling would of been nice to be pre warned about the live band playing which sounded like they was in my room people outside pub smoking talking loud till late, way to noisy wouldn’t of booked if I had known would not recommend if you want a good night sleep

The warm welcome and delicious lunch (we both opted for the Welsh Rarebit, how could you not) made our visit to Totnes. Definitely planning a return visit. Clearly a very old building that has its challenges but they are also part of its charm.

I ordered Chicken Supreme but received a piece of chicken with smashed potato mash, and greens.....in gravy. When we were asked if everything was ok, I questioned the 'chicken supreme', to which I was told that 'it's the chef's take on it'. What?? She went to the kitchen, coming back to say that chicken supreme was 'the cut of the meat'. That may be so, but it should be served with a creamy sauce with mushrooms, not regular meat gravy. I was disappointed that I was fobbed off, dismissed. I'll be trying somewhere else next time.

Cute little coffee shop. Was excited about the cake as it looked good but unfortunately didn’t stay for any because the lady at the till was quite unwelcoming when we arrived

Popped in here for lunch as it looked busy and cosy from the outside. We both had wild mushrooms - hen of the woods, king oyster etc. with garlic on toasted sourdough. Most delicious and a generous portion. Would definitely come back here.

Totnes Grill is an amazing place to get pizzas for family parties. I personally love their plain cheese pizzas, but everything is just so good from here! So lucky to be able to call up and have a quality pizza or burger delivered!
