The best restaurants serving British food in Totnes Town South Hams South West

Good coffee sat in the sun with beautiful flowers and the Totnes buzz. The staff are friendly and the food looks good. Good to see there are parasols for some shade if needed.

The food was good to very good, the service super friendly, great for a hotel bar/pub. The interior is conservatively furnished with partly antique furniture, very cosy.

Had a very nice chicken curry and rice here for lunch. Only flaw, the rice was not hot, only tepid, so lost a mark for that. The banana milkshake was delightful too. Nice establishment, friendly staff, prompt service, and a very chilled establishment.

We ordered our meal on the touchscreen - 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals with drinks annd ice cream. After about 15 minutes one adult meal and both kids meals arrived. No drinks. The adults meal was stone cold and must have been sitting somewhere for ages. After 10 minutes we chased up the drinks and second adults meal. It was also stone cold when it finally arrived. We had to ask again for drinks. The chips were the worst. Pale, limp and cold. The glass of water was warmer than the chips. We had to ask 3 times for the ice cream which were tiny pots of Ben and Jerry’s, completely inedible as they had obviously defrosted then been frozen again. Revolting. There were staffing issues but they should have closed rather than serve expensive inedible food. Will avoid in future.
