Very poor food. The lemon chicken was like eating candy, way too sweet. Dumplings were ok, wine was ok but overall very poor. We left the chicken almost untouched and told the waitress that it was unedible but she didn’t care. Spent £38 and left hungry. Go somewhere else.
Never asked for track and trace either,
Used to go here regularly a few years ago and was always satisfied with food and staff etc. Unfortunately, the wheels have come off. £15.99 for adults, half price for kids, for a basic buffet. Staff were unfriendly. They charge you before the meal. Probably so you don't do a runner.
As I said, food is basic. Rice, noodles, steamed vegetables, sweet and sour, curry, etc. The normal prawn toast and nuggets. Definitely not worth the £16. However the food is edible and it's cheaper during weekdays.
Won't be going back, unless they improve.
This isn’t just the worst sushi restaurant in Plymouth, it’s literally the worst Yo! I’ve ever eaten at.
One of the first things I heard as I sat down was a member of staff say “keep dishes on the belt to a minimum cos there’s loads that need to be removed soon”. He then went on to say “I’m off for a piss now and I’ll check when I come back”. Not really what you want to hear as you sit down to have lunch.
The soy sauce they’ve switched to isn’t particularly nice, but it’s passable. The new pickled ginger has lost any sweetness and as a result it doesn’t complement the food in the way it should. The new wasabi is an absolute joke - a tasteless green paste, swimming in liquid, that dissolves on the plate.
The maki rice wasn’t fully cooked so was crunchy. I watched the staff taking rice out of the big container that they keep it in, and as they lift the lid steam rises where it’s so hot. Sushi rice needs to be cold and then seasoned before it is used. Hot rice makes the nori soggy and chewy and increases the risk of bacterial growth when paired with raw fish.
The chicken gyoza dip tasted like pure vinegar. Not at all what it should taste like and nothing like I’ve ever tasted even at a Yo! Restaurant before.
As I was eating, I watched the dishes go around and around on the conveyer belt. They all have a sticker on them with the time that they should be taken off the belt. I watched dishes with a label of 14:15 still going around at 14:45.
I will never eat here again.
If you want decent, authentic Japanese food, go to Oishi on Mayflower Street. We are a blended Japanese family and love to find the best Japanese restaurants. Oishi is the best Plymouth has to offer.
Good ice cream. Plenty of options. The sitting area was lacking appeal. We decided to take out. Staff could be a little more welcoming but overall a good ice cream pit stop.
Nice place friendly staff if being honest there was a bit of a wait on the food however the wait was definately worth the no frills breakfast wait , food was really good definately going back again .
Compliments to the chef !! 😋
What a car crash of a take away!! Ordered the £15 special kabab and some spuds. Well I would rather eat the container it came from than touch their ‘food’ again!
Portion size was an absolute joke! the only surprise we got from the kebab was the lack of the road kill! (Reflecting on it- that’s not a bad thing cause my toilet is screaming my name!)
Shish takes like rodent meat and chicken taste everything but chicken!
The spuds were more soggy then a tramps undies! Having to heat up a take away to try and make it edible but actually realising your looking at Diana’s car crash on a plate is just a no… to then be told ‘if u can do better have my job’ happily buddy… get to job centre cause cooking isn’t your strong point! Hey ho better get those wet wipes out for the ass pee in the morning! And s I wouldn’t order Shish if u haven’t got a dentist, more chewy than my nans knickers!
NEVEE SEEN A CAG WALK PAST HERE… I now know why
I ordered for delivery. When my food came it was all cold. The chips were hard and inedible even after being warmed in the oven. The onion rings were soggy. The meat on the burger was ok although cold. The bun was soggy. It was all very sad. I thought eating in might be better but after seeing other reviews I will pass.
Afternoon early /evening visit weekday . Reasonably priced drinks and friendly good staff , had a great time for several hours here a good atmosphere. Cant really fault it
this was a terrible kebab and it gave me food poining from this i even found a hair in the meal this was on e of the worst kebabs i have ever eaten would not go again if you want spunk in the food
The owners of the chain and the delivery offshoot made a reasonable fist of running this place but after months of lockdown closure the company have decided to cease trading on this site and in this city and many others.
