Sundaes Gelato in Plymouth

Good ice cream. Plenty of options. The sitting area was lacking appeal. We decided to take out. Staff could be a little more welcoming but overall a good ice cream pit stop.

We came in for a waffle brunch after a recommendation from a friend. The waffles were awesome and so decadent. We had some awesome milkyway lattes as well. The decor was cool and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Kids loved it and have made me promise that we will go back again!

Always bring my children here, staff are always helpful and friendly especially when it comes to my daughter allergy. Would definitely recommend to anyone

I was very disappointed waited 25 minfir r order it was only cake and tea it doesn't take that long to wait then I went to yes the toilet that was very dirty floor was wet I reported it to three members of staff andine of them was the manager in charged it was sat 13 of may me and my family will not return

Just put 4 scoops of ice cream in the bin. Couldn’t taste the ice cream flavours over the taste of bitter cleaning fluid! My guess is that it’s whatever they put in the water that they rinse the scoop in, after each scoop. Awful. The strong smell of bleach on the place is also very off-putting. Whilst I’d usually be glad to know it was being kept clean, looking around the place you wouldn’t think so. Never again.

The quality didn't match the price. Most of the crepes are £8+ at this price we expected something really special but the crepes were chewy, they didnt have any chocolate spread inside only chocolate sauce drizzled on top. I could've done much better crepes at home. To add insult to injury, they're charging an extra £1.50 for their signature Gelato's icecream. Why are they charging extra for Gelato icecream?!! This brings the total price per crepe to approximately £10! We have eaten much better crepes at £5 each. We will not be returning and I do not recommend this business.

Do not place order via Deliveroo. Daughter ordered the White Chocolate Heaven Waffle, priced at £5.95 in shop, paid £9.95 on Deliveroo. How can they justify charging an extra £4 !! I ordered a Belgian Chocolate Waffle. According to Deliveroo menu, it was supposed to be covered in thick, chocolate sauce. Well, let's say a DRIZZLE of chocolate sauce would be more accurate. Paid £8.25 for that. Couldn't even say that offered on Sunday Gelato's own menu. Will not be ordering again.

I was going to visit you establishment but walking up I seen that all your front of house staff were not wearing hats, hair nets or aprons which I found extremely off putting and I walked away I would have liked to sample you waffles because I have been told there amazing but at this current moment in time if food handlers don’t wear basic PPE I will not eat there. I’m sorry for being so harsh

Lovely time in the restaurant the staff where really helpful and friendly, we did have a slight mix up with our order but it was sorted out quickly and was no bother for the staff to sort. The food was delicious we had waffles and drinks and all very nice and fresh, plenty to chose from in the menu book. Atmosphere was nice music was at a nice level so you can still talk and hear each other. Only one toilet although not a problem with us for today as it wasn’t very busy but I expect on a busy day they might be a little queue. Over all we had a lovely experience today and will be happy to return when in the area next.

The service was slow - it was at least 15 minutes before the staff even acknowledged us coming in, despite it being relatively empty. They’re very understaffed, and ended up forgetting a smoothie we ordered after the long wait. I also do not recommend the gelato cones!! They’re bitter and don’t taste as they should, and you don’t get a glass with your soft drink. The waffle that arrived was really nice and well made though, and was thoroughly enjoyed. If this place had more staff, I think the experience would be much better.

Came for couple Waffle Desserts after eating out in town. Staff or till was friendly though between the two of us with masks and accents we had bit of difficulty understanding one another but we got there in the end. I wasn't allowed to pay extra to have both cram and ice cream though :( only one but my request may have got lost in translation. Food was nice as always and was served very promptly. place could do with with a broom going over it and table wipe now again, practically in covid times :/

After waiting 25 minutes to receive a simple order of 2 “coffee and a cake” we received the first drink and cake, which was literally a mug of boiled water so I had essentially waited 25 minutes for a kettle to be boiled to then make my own tea. We then waited another 5 minutes and did not receive our 2nd order of the same. We had to go up to the counter for the staff to then tell us there had been an “error” and it’d be there shortly. It took a grand total of 35 minutes for staff to cut two slices of cake and plate them, and make 2 hot drinks. We could have gotten quicker service by going for a full meal at a restaurant. The cake was nice but the wait ruined what would have been a simple dining experience. Can’t comment on the drinks since we made them ourselves.

My husband and I were not hungry enough for a meal but peckish enough to have something light and cool. We couldn't have chosen a better place to satisfy ourselves. We had smoothies made out of our choice of ice-cream, and there was quite a selection to choose from too. They were yummy!

To be honest problematical as I wanted a MilkShake with extra scoop of Ice Cream? No problem with the extra scoop of Ice Cream but as soon as I did it was added to the bill? Problem was they say choice flavour from Ice Cream list so how the hell do we tell you what flavour? It does not tell you and the phone number is wrong? +44 is international dialing for England. My local Phone code is 01752. By the time I got through and asked how to select the flavour I wanted it was already out for delivery? As it was ot a flavour I wanted I told them to recall the riderand told them the flavour I actually wanted. The food was left out side my front door after inging my bell? I contacted Deliveroo who said they would contact the company and get back to me? Good luck with that as they gave me the +44 number. Deliveroo rang back to say they couldn't get hold of the company? I informed them how to work out the correct Phone Number. There is only 1 box to contact Deliveroo and that is for information about alergies, Inotlerances and other Medical Condoions?

Cheesecake was nice. Milkshake/Float was really not pleasant. Was like drinking after dropping a biscuit in. £18 for two drinks and two desserts. Not worth it. Staff were friendly yet not very attentive.

We took my son's girlfriend here for dessert, as she was missing her family in the US. I love ice cream, particularly Italian gelato, so was looking forward to trying this. WHAT a disappointment. Not only was the place grubby, with sticky table tops, but considering there was only one other table occupied, the service was incredibly slow. When our orders finally arrived, they were huge, but of average quality. In my opinion they would do better to provide smaller portions, with better quality ingredients. I ended up with sugar overload and brain freeze :(

Decided as an office to treat ourselves to waffles on pancake day. Expecting it to be busy I emailed in the morning advising that I wanted to place a large order and asked about how to do this. Was politely emailed back telling me to phone my order through! This I thought was fantastic as I wanted us to all eat together on our lunch break. Our office is near by and it all made perfect sense. I could phone and have it ready for when we wanted it.....or so I thought! I phoned and the lady abruptly advised me that didn't take large phone orders! I was advised, despite my email to the contuary I could only order for collection via uber eats at a cost of £3.50! I tried to argue it out but she stood fast! I was hugely disappointed at this, but we had all chosen what we wanted so I took two colleagues and made our way to the shop.

I ordered the brownie waffle for home delivery - massive thanks to the guy who tried to find us, I know we’re a bit difficult to locate but we really appreciated your persistence, especially so late in the evening!

Me and my friend absolutely adore this place, at first i scoffed at paying nearly £7 for a mere waffle and some ice-cream but it's honestly completely worth it. The waffles are freshly cooked and the size of a place, piping hot with plenty of toppings to choose from and they're hard to finish! If you're not trying to have it as a meal, 1 waffle would definetly do two people but me and my friend have a sweet tooth so 1 each does us amazingly. The sundaes are also lovely.

We visited here for my son’s birthday. We had ice cream shakes and floats which were delicious I asked if they could do anything special as it was my sons birthday. The staff were brilliant, I bought one of the small cakes which they decorated it for him. He was delighted. Well worth a visit. Thank you very much

This was by far the best ice cream that I have had in Plymouth and was more than happy with the size of the sundaes as I could not finish it alone, Can’t wait to go again soon

We only ordered two waffles (white chocolate heaven and nutella cookies) and they were nice! They also have 10% student discount that we missed.

So to start the staff don't know what they are doing. Then we had the food before our drinks... Waffle was cold so ask for it to be warmed and they they didn't know what to do. I had to practically tell then what to do!Then after 10 minutes we got our food we got our drinks. The drinks weren't even hot they were room temperature. Was not impressed the staff was clueless and the food was horrible.

Due to poor staff training as the lady who served me seemed to not know what she was doing at all, she charged my card twice for one payment. As a result I have ended up paying £20 for two milkshakes which is absolutely absurd.

Popped in here for an ice cream after lunch at The Bank. There are countless different flavours available (too many to list) and I went for some kind of fudge crunch scoop which was delicious. I was expecting a hefty pricetag but when the girl behind the counter said it was only £2, I was pleasantly surprised! I will definitely be visiting here next time I am in town and fancy an ice cream!

Ordered a Lemon Blitz crepe, which was pretty thick and smothered in lemon, with very little sugar included, making it very bitter to eat. Ice cream was nice. There was a lack of cutlery in the cutlery areas, with a total of 3 knifes found in total of two areas. The waffle machine looked like had it not been cleaned for a week, making me (who has an allergy) not want to order much with fear of cross-contamination.

I have wanted to visit sundaes gelato for ages and finally did today. There is a huge choice of desserts and ice cream, you are spoilt for choice. After ages of trying to decide, I went for the coconut crunch sundae and was not disappointed, the portion was huge and it was very reasonably priced. The pistachio gelato is amazing. I will definitely return, there’s sooooo much more on the menu I want to try.

This is a nice Ice-Cream parlour with a wonderful selection of ice creams and sorbets. The did a great Cherry Sundae (my favourite)

Our order didn't go though the till and we were left waiting but the staff were so apologetic and even gave us a £5 voucher for our trouble. The food is delicious and great value. Glass bottle of coke is only £1.85! Fantastic.

First off the place could do with a good clean. We went there at lunch time and it was very quiet. There were more staff than customers yet there were tables which were dirty when we arrived and still there when we left.

We were the only ones at the counter when we went in and one of the women asked us if we were ready, to which we replied we were choosing. She then proceeded to duck down behind the counter and muck around with something at the back. In the meantime, 2 other groups had wandered in and one of the other servers started to take their orders. I think the second group in the queue heard my displeasure so they let us go next but it was as if we were ignored, even though we were the only ones in there at the time then others formed a queue that we were somehow not in.

Everyone was really happy and impressed with their food. Didn’t have to wait long either. Tables where wheelchair accessible but I found it difficult to fit threw the doors. Had to have someone open the doors to the toilet for me to get to the disabled toilets. Not impressed with toilets. Smelled awful and wasn’t clean. Tissue and water on the floor

By chance walked into this place looked from the outset very decent but how mistaken we was I don't know if this is a franchise but probably is all staff dressed completely different one had a pair of shorts were u could see her underwear "disgusting" in a family place the food we ordered came out 10 minutes apart one finished before another started absolute farce please shut down or get a manger in who can turn it around it won't last which is a shame good position decent look but no common sense being used !! Cleanliness is a worry!!

love this place my wife love's ferrero rocher ice cream and this is one of the only place's that do it here so always pop in for a few scoops if were down that end of town lovely 50's american diner stye and the milkshakes look incredible

Nearly £6.00 for the smallest saddest piece of cheesecake that was almost gone off (clearly had been sat for some time) The waffle and sundae were tasty but nothing spectacular considering the enormous price tag. We were expecting something a little special but wish we had gone to the supermarket instead as we paid nearly £25 for three mediocre desserts.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received this evening. I had my order put through the till incorrectly meaning I got the wrong products on both desserts. I ordered one NUTELLA COOKIE WAFFLE swapping the banana for strawberry and one VELVET CREPE. I receive a Nutella cookie waffle with strawberry ice cream and banana and a white chocolate crepe. I understand when a company our busy mistakes can happen. I walked to the counter to talk to a staff member and was greeted by a blonde lady who was very angry/frustrated. Working in customer serivce, I feel it's inappropriate to treat customers with a rude, blunt manner and throwing crepes and waffles around because they are incorrect. I do not spend £10 on desserts for both to be wrong. I was then forgotten about and no waffle arrived. After waiting 50 minutes since ordering at the till, I went back to the counter to then be told she will make it now. This wouldn't be as bad if it was made when I made the complaint. She then brought me a crepe with strawberries and chocolate. No cookie or waffle in sight. When I took this back up to the counter I was told this is what I ordered yet I got a waffle the first time and I didn't order what I stated. think I know what I ordered so for the blonde lady to argue with me wasn't the best thing. I finally received the correct waffle however, no apologies from any staff. This was awful customer service and I have never had such a problem before. Good waffle but not when it takes 50 minutes and an angry blonde staff member!

Lovely treat on a hot afternoon. Had a strawberry sundae. Must admit it was bigger than expected but absolutely delicious & reasonably priced.

Called with my sister as it was a very hot day and near out bus stop and tried one ice cream each. I had blackberry and she had the lemon meringue. She enjoyed hers but said she had had a tangier one elsewhere, my blackberry was nice not had that flavour before. But felt with so many to choose from it was not best quality. But very nice on a very hot day. May call again

It has to be said that my son and I go here fairly regularly and have not had an issue, however, today we went with other family members, 5 of us in total. As my young son was eating his ice-cream he found a long black hair. My sister, who was enjoying her giant sundae immediately stopped eating, as did my nephew. When I took it back to the counter with the hair sticking out, the guy behind the counter had no idea how to react. He went off to get the manager and she came to say that we could either have a refund for my son's ice cream or have a replacement. He chose a replacement but the fact that the rest of us were put off our food was not even acknowledged. Really disappointed that having spent £30 there, only the two young children got the ice-cream .

I dont know if I went in on a horrible day, but damn it was bad... The staff were rude and arrogant, barely even communicating with me, when it came to our food FINALLY arriving after like a 30minute wait, the staff seemed to be aimlessly wandering around the place trying to find the right tables...The food was rubbish, it was cold (supposed to be a warm dish, warm cookie dough stuff). The entire restaurant was chaos, people complaining and I think I only saw about 2-3 staff members. The decor would look lovely if it was cleaned, the tables were disgusting and sticky and had leftovers on them, the menus even worse---not a good thing trying to sell a product when the menu is falling apart and covered in god only knows!! I know that you cant always have a pristine clean place, but CMON- basic hygiene lessons seriously needed here.

I had the waffles with cream, white chocolate sauce, strawberries & bananas and i can honestly recommend - it is delicious and you can 'take away' these waffles too if you ask them!

Just make my "grumpy" days better :) pity that they don't have more tables outside available, but anyway peps- go there, they have amazing waffles!!

Good service-staff went out of their way to satisfy my pregnant sister who wanted something which wasn't on the menu!! My crepes was great! Will return soon!!

Was okay but not best; chose kinder bueno flavour ice cream which had nuts in, naturally I just thought they were bits of kinder bueno bars and they don't actually have nuts in them so it really baffled me that there was no sign telling me it contained nuts or at least a staff member telling you when you order!

Fantastic food, lots of choices. Good for groups or couples. Can become loud during busy times, but generally a nice atmosphere. Staff are polite and helpful.

Me and my friend went in for an ice cream with her 6 year old and we couldn't believe the choice, I'd been passed so many times and just assumed it was ice creams, I had the BEST nutella waffle with bananas, Oreo and chocolate sauce, my friend had a "nutty" sundae and her daughter had a waffle with bubblegum ice cream and coffee ice cream, yum!

First time I've visited this place, I love gelato ice cream and there are so many flavours to choose from one fit everyone! Service was fast and pleasant! Definitely will be recommending! Will be back

After visiting Sundaes Gelato with friends previously I decided to take my boyfriend while he was visiting. Having a sweet tooth he was greatly looking forward to this. We ordered straight away and were given a table number so we sat down the tables had not been cleaned. We waited around 10 minutes for my boyfriends crepe to arrive to find it was undercooked!! I however was still awaiting a waffle... 20 minutes later my boyfriend had eaten and I was still awaiting my desert. When we asked staff the cashier shrugged and said ' it's not my fault'. 10 minutes later and several conversations with staff later my waffle was brought out. No apology from staff was given to me this really ruined the day for us! Due to this I will NEVER be returning to Sundaes Gelato! :(

If I could have given no stars I would have! The service was abysmal! After waiting to be served at the counter for over 5 minutes, being ignored the whole time, despite there only being two other tables in the restaurant. When we did finally get someone's attention, and I enquired about which ice creams where gluten free, I was answered with a shrug so I tried to explain and was again met with a shrug and this time the server walked off with disinterest. I then tried the other server even getting up gluten free meaning in their language, they then tried to say they do not have a list of ingredients for any of their ice creams, despite saying that they must have that it is now the law, I was met with even more disinterested shrugs. Safe to say I was appalled at the service.

Really good venue with lots of choice. Crepes and waffles are cooked to order and well worth the short wait. Good late closing times so you can go to a restaurant in town and then stop by for a great dessert!

Brought my sons here one day after visiting the cinema. We actually dined at Bella Italia on Derrys Cross, but the boys wanted to come here for dessert. It was a great treat with generous portions (and price tag.) Loved the Waffle combinations and the whole family had fun too.

Went here after visiting a nearby restaurant for dinner, my boyfriend and I fancied a dessert from a different place. I had heard great things about the waffles so thought we would try them out for ourselves.

We were on our way to the theatre stopped off to have an ice cream. Wow so many flavours to choose from. They also do crepes and waffles spoilt for choice. We both had a double scoop ice cream and we will go back to have a crepe after our dinner.
