The best restaurants in Weston-super-Mare West North Somerset South West

Having walked the whole stretch of Weston Beach from Uphill we were in need of a drink & some lunch. The Captains Cabin is situated close to Birnbeck Pier. From the outside we were a little unsure but don’t let that fool you. We walked in & what a lovely welcome we had from all the staff particularly Alex. We sat on their veranda outside first for a drink looking out to sea then went indoors to sit in front of their roaring fire. It had a great atmosphere on a Saturday lunch time & obviously enjoyed by the friendly locals. The food was excellent, served by the lovely Leah. We had vegetable curry & fish & chips. The staff could not do enough to help you. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Captains Cabin, we highly recommend.

Location ideal ... other side of the road from the sea Parking ok ... one space for each apartment I stayed In Apartment 2 which is on the Ground floor (Apartment 1 is in the basement) Quality exceptional ... I felt at home in a luxury way ... I stay at hotels all year long and this is place made me feel very comfortable Kitchen small ... but I do not go on holiday to cook !! Bedrooms big ... only issue here is that the room with two single beds in had the noisiest central heating boiler in it (but hidden) that made really weird noises all night

Friendly service, and chicken that melts off the bone. Probably the best fried chicken I have ever had

i was taken there with my daughters we had an a lovely tea with sandwiches cakes we had a big stand and we had two stands for the sandwiches and cakes came in on plates

Watched the Euros here over the summer, great deals and friendly staff, been in for food and it was lovely. Can't wait to try the carvery

Not as good a pub as before it was done out then it had a charm and space and lot more comfortable

Waited over 1.5 hours with a child for cold food, they have a cheek to call themselves a restaurant. Get fish and chips from a takeaway instead

I ordered the food and I put on there do not ring door bell because it’s late and the driver has turned up in a car with no exhaust on it waking up the dead and then rung the doorbell setting my dogs off barking and woke up the whole house didn’t even apologise nothing and was just so rude and then didn’t give me my drink that I ordered so I’m not impressed with the driver at all !! Then there’s the food chips and onion rings were like they were done in a microwave not cooked properly at all they were really soggy My burger was stone cold and rock solid even snapped a tooth trying to eat it so that went straight in the bin(yes I do look after my teeth) The fish and mushy peas the fish was tiny for a large and stone cold also and the mushy peas were everywhere all over the inside the box so Yh never ordering from them ever again waste of money and time !!

Whilst on a short visit to Weston Super Mare a friend and I found this and were very pleasantly surprised. The service we received was exceptional. The food when it arrived was very well present and plentiful. It was nice to be asked if we wanted our drinks with the food or straight away. Will definitely be revisiting when back in the area

Just popped in for a bag of chips and served immediately with what I can only assume was leftovers. Absolutely disgusting chips cooked in old fat and so over cooked it was difficult to eat then. Online they are £1.50 for small and I asked for small and charged £2. Never going back as such a shame as on my way home every night. Will not survive serving food like this.
