We fully intended trying this restaurant upon a return visit to Clevedon. Situated on the popular Hill Road with its eclectic range of independent shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs. Mary's is a beautiful Mediterranean style corner restaurant retaining evidence of its former life as an apothecary and shouts "come in." A range of tapas and main meals. Decent linen napkins. Unfortunately a choice of tapas of mine was unavailable. Understandable but the waitress should make diners aware of items that are not available in advance. That said we both opted for the fish pie which was very good. Reasonable prices. We could not understand the pretentious decanting of a bottle of chardonnay into a jug. I asked at the end of the meal, prior to paying, if she would call a taxi for us. She merely handed out a taxi business card. It was a very quiet evening. When the bill arrived there was a presumptuous 10% service charge. We always find this irritating and on this occasion had it removed. Three stars overall which to be fair should be 4 /5.🇬🇧🇳🇿

I left a positive review about this establishment a year ago but we returned again yesterday (7 October 24) and we were certainly not disappointed. Two lovely, well filled toasties (ham & cheese and tuna, onion & cheese) which were hot and tasty and came with salad. Delicious cakes (chocolate and millionaires shortbread) for afters. Good menu with further selection on “Specials” board. Staff welcoming and very friendly. Facilities clean. Well worth the 2nd visit!

Had a very enjoyable stay in this hotel for three nights. I appreciated the large Victorian style. A large bathroom and a just big enough bedroom. Bathroom had a door stop to stub your toe on right in front of the towel rail, not so clever. Wonderful views out over the water to Wales. English breakfast was excellent, even outstanding though their interpretation of Continental breakfast seemed to lack any cheese ham or roles. Dinner was excellent. I would have given five stars but I have to take one off as the bar areas were very gloomy grey. The menu had no pudding based on apple. Somerset one of the great apple areas of the UK with all the scores of traditional and modern apple puddings available and none available here, in the autumn apple season.

Booked a table at the little harp clevedon for 5 pm. On arrival the pub and restaurant we're really busy, we were shown to our table and ordered five roast dinners and a fish and chips. Very little veg was served and the meats looked dry and unappetizing. Fish and chips didn't fare any better with dried out peas and very few chips. The only plus side to this visit was our server who was under immense pressure due to lack of staff, very unlikely we shall be returning anytime soon.
