This review is just concerning one item on the menu. Other food, such as the sandwiches, look great. Drinks were good, too. The one item on the menu is the 'Field mushrooms on toasted sourdough'. The sourdough was good, and the mushrooms were good, too. The problem is, this (almost £10) brunch was tiny. If it was £5, then ok fair enough. But to charge £10 for a small piece of bread and some mushrooms is bordering on criminal. If there was something to accompany it on the plate then that would have been good. But it looked like a tiny boat lost in the ocean. In fact it looked so pitiful that the people I was with donated some of their food to me, so it looked more like a meal. I was gifted more sourdough and split the mushrooms up, so it looked like it had doubled in size. It gave me an idea...how about the boss of the establishment gives 2 (small) pieces of sourdough and covers them with the same amount of mushrooms? The customer will feel like they have more than just a (very) light bite in front of them, and won't feel like they have been ripped off. They will also not want to write a negative review about the experience. They may even write a positive review! (the photo doesn't show how lonely the food is on the plate as there are also some addition food donations which are out of shot). Yes the restaurant has bills to pay, ingredients to buy, and staff to pay, but £10 for some mushrooms on a piece of sourdough? The markup must be x10 at least.

Nice place just near the pier. Inside and outside seating areas. They offer a good selection for lunch and afternoon tea. The staff are lovely and very helpful. We had Tuna Sandwiches with salad which was fresh and very tasty. There’s an ice cream hatch in the garden to the front as well. Worth a visit.

Very expensive for what you get. Coffee was ok, but we also ordered the ‘basket of toast’ which comprised three insipid slices of lightly toasted bread on a plate, with no basket in sight. This cost the princely sum of £4.95. Presentation simply awful. Separate to this, a couple of cyclists left their bikes propped against the wall behind us blocking the way for an elderly lady in a wheelchair. The staff weren’t at all bothered so I moved them myself.

Went into Tiffin because we have been before and feel it’s the nicer one of the restaurants on the front at Clevedon. The ladies serving were lovely and attentive, though short staffed apparently. Little delay in getting drinks and toasted tea cake. But when it arrived the coffees were just right and the tea cake was perfect. Plus there was a decent supply of some nice jams. Good visit really and yes I will be back.

Tried for the first time. Ciabbata with tuna was good. 2 coffees were ok. However, 1 toasted teacake with butter was billed at £4.20, which I queried. Staff confirmed this was billed correctly. When I checked the menu on line at home later it was listed , as I thought at £3.40 -on the all day menu. So massive overcharge for buttered teacake(no jam) Won’t be returning

Took a friend for afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday. Great view over the sea and the historic pier. We had a lovely time, staff were very attentive, good atmosphere. There was a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones with very generous portions of jam and clotted cream, we could not eat all of it so they kindly boxed the remaining items to take home with us. There is an extensive range of teas , we look forward to returning again to try more of them.

Tiffin in Clevedon is excellent. We visit about twice a year from across the other side of the Bristol Channel and always enjoy good coffee with friendly service . Today it was sunny and cold, but the terrace was sheltered with fantastic views of the seafront and pier. Our coffees were perfect, as usual. Dogs are welcome on the outside terrace. Next time we’ll come for lunch.

It was Mother’s Day and I booked the Afternoon Tea for 4 plus and grandson in high chair. We are local and use Tiffin but the special tea was a first and it did not disappoint. Fresh finger sandwiches, wonderful scones, and plenty of dinky cakes ‘petit four’ type. Had to ask for more clotted cream which was no problem. Better that than have people waste it. We couldn’t eat it all, boxes were provided to take away. Tea pots were replenished too. A very good tea. Service can on occasion be hit and miss, but on that very busy day, it was great. We were served by Holly and another young lady, both very pleasant, plus a very efficient young man.

Service - mixed the manager not too interested, one waitress not too bothered but another young lady, who provided a food box was very pleasant. I'll put it down to end of lunchtime relief. The food - ploughman's was good, the avacado/poached eggs was good although I'm not sure cold avacado and hot eggs go together, for me. Location would be very good in the summer and we will be back to try it then. Overall a good experience. And recommended.

The most dreadful lunch. The staff were very good but the food was awful. Two of us had cheddar and chutney ciabatta. There was so little grated cheddar, about a dessert spoon, about a quarter teaspoon of chutney, it had no chance of coming close to filling the ciabatta. There was a huge pile of lettuce, one slice of tomato, half a slice of cucumber and two strips of pepper making up the salad plus a dollop of revolting coleslaw. One of us had avocado on toast with two poached eggs. The avocado appeared to have come from a tube rather than being fresh and one of the eggs must have been put in the water for seconds as it collapsed in a watery heap on the plate. What a waste of £38. Never again will I ever set foot in that place. A complete rip-off.

I used to love this place but it seems to be a victim of its own success. On recent visits it is clear it can be understaffed or have poorly trained staff who can struggle to see you in the first place and then get the order right. We stopped there last week and, when eventually served (it wasn't even busy) were charged £7.00 for a small pot of tea for two. I would advise going somewhere else.

My family and I have been regulars at Tiffin's for years but more recently it has become a little inconsistent. Service was historically immaculate, but over the past year or so this alters regularly. We have been served by some fantastic waiting staff recently but some staff are abrupt, very chatty with colleagues, and sometimes more senior staff seem bossy with subordinates whilst they do little. On a good day, Tiffin is amazing so we will continue to support.

We were visiting the area to remember a sad event and when we explained this to the lady serving us, she encouraged us to remain in the seated outside area as long as we liked to continue to sit looking at the lovely view out over the Clevedon Pier even after we had finished our drinks. When we visit again which we hope to do soon as the Pier was closed by the time we arrived, because everyone was so pleasant, we will definitely return and order something more substantial.

We love tiffin so much, any excuse we are there! The girls are always so lovely and helpful, and the food is unreal. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Myself and a friend visited Tiffin for my birthday lunch out, but we both came away feeling dissapointed with both the quality of food and service. We were looking forward to an all day breakfast affair but had to settle for our 3rd menu choice which was 'green eggs'. Being an occasion, we opted to have an alcoholic drink with our lunch, which we later overheard the waitress make a derogatory comment about to another member if staff. When the food arrived, instead of being served up 2 x beautiful runny poached eggs we were presented with 2 x hard boiled on a small amount of ham and Spinach on 1 x small piece if dry toast. This was definitely not worth the £9.50 price tag! Needless to say we won't be returning to Tiffin anytime soon.

At long last we were able to get out and enjoy a coffee after lockdown. Sat outside at Tiffins and had delicious coffee. Excellent service and well priced. Will return

Beautiful afternoon tea which included 2 scones, cream, and strawberry jam. The scones were warm and melted in the mouth. Tea was loose tea in a pot. Lovely experience. Would definitely return.

Grateful that there was somewhere to buy a hot drink on a cold day but it was less than satisfactory. Those of a certain age will remember those vending machines at various locations like swimming pools / leisure centres & hospitals with a variety of liquid refreshment that was powder based with hot water - and this is exactly what was produced from the machine with some cream on top . Sadly like those predecessors it was not hot, lacked any real taste & a disappointment. Worst of all it cost £3.50 . I will gladly support local businesses during these tough times but I won’t be purchasing again !!

I visited Tiffin on the Beach on a beautiful sunny day and enjoyed a fab breakfast on the lovely outdoor terrace overlooking the sea. Breakfast comprised toast, bacon, sausage, tomato, poached eggs, mushrooms and baked beans (proper thick sauce beans - not a cheap version) and tea. It was delicious. I then had breakfast pudding of a huge slice of yummy lemon cake. The waiting staff were charming and very helpful. I will definitely go back to Tiffin. Clevedon is a little gem, with a very pretty pier. The town generally seems well cared for and the front area particularly so - attractive buildings and a lovely view. It’s just about an hour from where I live and I’ll definitely go again to be near the sea and have a meal in such a lovely place.

The staff were helpful e.g. telling us there was a table inside when we were sat outside in the cold, and friendly. Unfortunately the food was not up to the same standard and was expensive for what we had. My bacon and sausage and egg bap tasted either reheated or overcooked - the bacon was tough and rigid, and the sausage was dry and solid, it didn't taste freshly cooked. I like runny poached eggs but these were hard poached. Disappointing and will not return.

Very friendly and clean cafe. We had a £50 60th birthday voucher to spend and had planned pre-covid to go the the Tiffin on the pier. When we arrived for lunch we discovered the bistro is no longer running on the pier, since covid we were told?. We were directed to Tiffin on the beach. I felt the 3 lunches we ordered were £2-£3 over priced. I asked for some artisan bread and received 2 slices of thick white loaf, didn't look very 'artisan'. Because we had a large amount of money on our voucher, we finished meal off with coffee and takeaway cakes, very good cakes.

Stopped in here for afternoon tea after a lovely day in Clevedon. The only disappointment for us was that we hadn't found this place earlier as the menu looks amazing. We had cream teas...with the most beautifully light warm scones. We had to wait a few minutes to get a table as it was very busy ( and now we can see why). Have to give a mention to the waitress at front of house, who despite being very busy, was relentlessly cheerful and kept everything running very smoothly. We are already planning our next visit to Clevedon so we can go here for breakfast!

Great food, reasonably priced. Filled baps were excellent with an enormous dressed salad, a large selection of cakes mostly home made, even the tea tasted good being loose leaf and refilled if required. Pleasant service and all Covid rules followed.

After the drive from Bristol needed a pitstop and this place was right opposite the sea. The attraction was the seating outside in the sunshine overlooking the famous pier. Service was a little slow probably due to the virus restrictions and the extra cleaning needed. The chips were a bit disappointing and the latte like warm.Fidelscastrol.

We had every intention of eating here but the toilets are unavailable... a cafe with no toilets has no business being open. Also apparently cannot provide tap water in a glass. Taking Covid precautions too far I think; we ate somewhere else where there was a toilet and tap water.
