This is just a great old fashioned country pub. No frills, just great beer and cider and a roaring fire.

Realy friendly atmosphere with reasonably priced food served between 12 and 2 with the best Sunday dinners in the area. Lovely open fires welcome you in the winter. Would definitely recommend

I've been to this place several times since I moved to Long Ashton with my family, and I absolutely love it. It's a little pub with a cozy atmosphere, and there's always a warm welcome from the staff. The decor, featuring memorabilia from the mining age, adds a unique touch. Their steak and kidney pie is truly delicious and not to be missed.

Super friendly and no frills local pub serving a wide range of drinks, Butcombe and Thatchers particularly good. Open fires in each of the rooms, lovely welcoming staff and plenty of seating outside to catch the sun and enjoy the views over the valley towards the sea. Think there’s roast available on a Sunday. Small car park to the side, but it’s a lovely stomp from Ashton Court or up the hill from the centre of Long Ashton. Go if you’re looking for a quiet traditional pub to hang out with friends. Perfect place to stop if you’re out biking too.

Top pub with great food & beer.

We visited for a family Sunday lunch, two adults, a 5 year old and our baby. The staff were warm and welcoming, despite us arriving with a loudly crying baby. The roast dinner was excellent, my usually fussy son couldn't stop saying "wow" at how good the food was, and we thought the same, the best roast dinner we've had in a while.

Great little country pub 10 min from Bristol. I use it when I need a break from the City. Always friendly, staff and locals alike. Sit out front on a sunny day with a vast panorama of North Somerset and you will forget any worries you arrived with. Highly recommend.

Forget all other pubs, this one has the best Landlady,Staff, Food , Beer and fabulous views, also what has been lost in the UK, CHARACTER!!!

Very authentic, local and friendly pub

Went there to eat, travelled by bicycle. Staff friendly and food was great, liked it. However, there was a group of loud locals gathered in front of the bar and one of them was making anti-cyclist, bigoted comments to his "mates" in a deliberately loud voice so that others (including us) could hear. Had he been saying those bigoted things against people from ethnic minorities we would say that he was prejudiced, borderline criminal. So the pub needs to ensure that it stays friendly and welcoming to everyone, regardless of how they travelled there and whether they are local or not. It should not matter how a person travelled. Sticking bigoted, prejudicial labels on people is just daft. Those "locals" were not civilised and did the pub a great disservice. The pub owner needs to stamp out loud bigotry or risk getting a bad reputation. Aside from that unnecessary uncivilised behaviour from one or two, it's a great little pub - let's hope it stays open and welcoming to all.

Our local, it’s such a brilliant little pub. They serve good beer. Always welcomed by the bar staff. Nice and cosy with the open fire burning. Kids welcome. Lovely views from the garden.

This is a very friendly village pub set in the outskirts of Bristol in Long Ashton, the landlady Carol and the bar staff make you welcome when you walk through the door, with a log burning fire in the bar, they have a good selection of beers etc. and a varied range of food on the menu, the Sunday diner has a choice of meats and comes with the usual veg etc.it is great value for the price. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead when inside.

No voy aquí a menudo, pero siempre me sorprende por lo amable, el lugar es, especialmente el personal del bar. Es un lugar agradable para pasar un par de horas me sentaba afuera disfrutando de las fantásticas en verano y usualmente tienen una bonita chimenea en invierno. Sin duda merece la pena una visita.

Si este es el lugar donde los mineros realmente utilizada para entonces estaban de suerte. Metimos en con el perro a sentarse en una soleada terraza en la parte delantera (hay otra terraza elevada por muchos escalones). Excelente relación calidad-precio para llevar particularmente los lunes y martes. Coche, así que no probé la cerveza, pero habitado una cuidada selección. Clientela un servicio rápido y amable, agradable comida. Un poco fuera del circuito turístico y recomendamos este lugar.

Have visited on a few occasions - in summary it's a traditional country pub - always a nice relaxed atmosphere, food is very reasonably priced, very friendly service, and if the weather is dry, try to get a seat outside and just relax and let the world go by.

Nos metimos en el resto de los mineros para nuestro primer domingo almuerzo nos fuimos a la zona recientemente. No nos decepcionó. La comida era de buena calidad, y a un buen precio. El servicio era rápido y todo muy fácil. Hay una buena selección de cervezas. Estamos seguros de que volveremos!El almuerzo se sirve hasta 12 años no pagan .30 un domingo y hasta 12 años no pagan en otros días. Por desgracia, el domingo menú es un poco limitado (teníamos la opción de ternera o cerdo), y hay otras cosas en el menú de la semana que nos gustaría probar!

He estado aquí muchas veces para el almuerzo. La buena comida de pub menú que es una gran relación calidad-precio y siempre con una sonrisa. Se Solía tener mucho más cervezas en barriles pero todavía tiene una opción razonable. Muy agradable sentarse fuera en una cálida tarde.¿Qué más quieres - comida servida por las noches sería bueno (consejo)
