We enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch with beautifully cooked pan fried chicken and wonderful fresh vegetables. A generous helping too with tasty gravy to accompany it all. A great selection of desserts are on offer. Value for money too.
Compliments to the chef (Chris?) you won’t be disappointed but May need to book as it’s obviously popular - and we can see why!
These new premises are bright, clean and welcoming. The proprietor is charming, friendly and attentive. My friend had a wonderful omelette, chips and peas. I had jacket potato with cheese plus loads of salad (they'd run out of cole slaw). Lovely view of the town square and water feature through huge plate glass windows. Altogether very nice indeed.
Yes, I was lured in by the gorgeous aroma, and couldn't resist Cafe W's fab coffee and cake whilst I read my book (Amy Licence's Woodsmoke and Sage which I had just bought). I sometimes meet friends here but it's also nice to sit on your own, sipping, nibbling and reading! Staff are lovely, very friendly, and the ambience, being surrounded by books, is wonderful, very cosy and welcoming.
Location ideal ... other side of the road from the sea
Parking ok ... one space for each apartment
I stayed In Apartment 2 which is on the Ground floor (Apartment 1 is in the basement)
Quality exceptional ... I felt at home in a luxury way ... I stay at hotels all year long and this is place made me feel very comfortable
Kitchen small ... but I do not go on holiday to cook !!
Bedrooms big ... only issue here is that the room with two single beds in had the noisiest central heating boiler in it (but hidden) that made really weird noises all night
A large area in Waterstones is occupied by this cafe. Lovely coffee and very good selection of cakes and snacks, counter service but very helpful with older customers. Great friendly staff and moderate prices - very popular with the locals.
We were visitors to the town and Mughals was suggested by staff at our hotel. What a disappointment. We were the only customers in there on a Sunday evening, but thought we'd give it a try. We had to ask the somewhat unkempt and untidy 'waiter' to put some music on to give the place a bit of atmosphere. My husband and I ordered poppadums which came with one small container of mango chutney and one small container of lime pickle...no onions or cucumber relish ( traditional accompaniments). Our mains: lamb biryani and chicken jalfrazi and pilau rice which we had heard being prepared in a microwave were inedible ! Tasteless and lukewarm. We had a couple of mouthfuls, asked for the bill and left! Oh, and the customer toilet had no light in it ! Don't waste your money...give this one a wide berth !
No esperaba mucho. Quedarse aquí. Vuelo cancelado (gracias Francia). No de buen humor. Elegimos ravioles porcini. Agotado. Pero. . . .
We stopped in here for some breakfast, nobody else in there and waited absolutely ages for our breakfast. Such a shame as it was lush, but no idea why it took so long and can't afford to be out of work for as long as that took. Should just be a grab and go place. Would try again if quicker service
The blue Dolphin has now been renamed and is called the Milton Fish Bar. The same issues still exist though. The carpark for the shop is monitored by a parking enforcement company via ANPR cameras. I went in for a bag of chips and gave my registration to the member of staff, they were having problems with their ipad freezing which resulted in my registration not being recorded. I later received a £100 fine. I have spoken with the manager of the chip shop but was told there was nothing they could do! the most expensive bag of chips I have ever purchased and they were not even very good. I will never go back.
Staff friendly latte was really nice, long wait for food near 50 minutes. Ordered the set breakfast 2 asked for well done eggs and bacon but one egg was snotty! Beans cold. Also ordered the breakfast set 1 and didn’t enjoy any of it, all over cooked! Shame but wouldn’t go back for food only for coffee. Wasn’t worth £25.00 and this included a refund of one egg.
Good selection of beers although the prices are a bit steep considering they travel about 20 feet to the bar. Lunch/brunch at less than a tenner is quite competitive and tables both inside an outside always available. Downside, the staff seem to be there under sufferance, everything is frankly a bit of a chore, a joyless shift is a little infectious.
