Yes, I was lured in by the gorgeous aroma, and couldn't resist Cafe W's fab coffee and cake whilst I read my book (Amy Licence's Woodsmoke and Sage which I had just bought). I sometimes meet friends here but it's also nice to sit on your own, sipping, nibbling and reading! Staff are lovely, very friendly, and the ambience, being surrounded by books, is wonderful, very cosy and welcoming.

Lovely relaxing cafe in which to partake of an exquisite coffee and a cake, whilst reading your favourite book (at the moment anything by Robert Harris would be my choice). Very comfortable chairs and regularly-wiped tables. The staff are equally lovely!

I was lost in my book as I sipped the very exquisite coffee, as I comfortably nestled in a nice clean chair with a nice clean table (with a tick) to rest my book on. Really good cafe inside Waterstones in the Sovereign Centre. My only quibble is the length of time it took to get served. There seemed to be only one barista on duty at the time I went in this afternoon. I noticed a sign advertising a barista vacancy! Come on, you young Westonians - go work in Waterstones Cafe W. You won't regret it!

Lovely staff. Good selection of beverages. Good light lunch menu. Nice seating area. Seated inside the book shop which means you can look at books while enjoying coffee.

Often come here to meet an old friend for our usual chinwag! But I often come on my own to drink the excellent tea and browse their excellent books. Lovely bright surroundings.

They serve proper tea made with tea leaves in a pot. Soya milk is available as well as cows. They have a good selection of cakes from a local bakery that are difficult to resist.

You can sit at leisure here, drink your coffee and think deep thoughts, or read one of the fabulous array of books in one of the best Waterstones in the UK. Always a pleasure, the staff are lovely and so is the coffee and cake!

I have visited Cafe W a few times on various trips to Weston Super Mare. I have always loved Waterstones and it's a nice touch to be able to get a coffee there. However .... the gluten free policy needs to be reviewed. As you queue, looking at all the things you can't eat, there is a dinky little blackboard on the top of the counter that says "...ask for our gluten free options". OK I thought, clearly they are keeping the gluten free cakes separate from the other food. So I gave my order for coffee and asked what their gluten free choices were and was told ... crisps! I laughed and said "have you ever tried dipping those in coffee?" but it did make me feel a bit cross. Having been gluten free for 30 years, it has been a joy in recent years to be able to go out, like everyone else, and get a nice meal, or a slice of cake, instead of having to take a picnic everywhere. I also appreciate that offering gluten free has its challenges and I don't mind if it is stated that there are NO gluten free options. I can go elsewhere or just get a coffee. The response in Cafe W was derisory and a bit insulting. It's OK if you don't want to do gluten free, but don't have a sign on your counter indicating that you DO have gluten free options then tell customers "crisps". Do the right thing and be honest.

This cafe is very pleasant the staff were very kind and the coffee is ethical and tastes nice. The walls are decorated in a seaside theme, and there is lots of space to sit, with a range of styles and chairs. The free Wi-FI and proximity to the books makes the cafe feel less hostile and as if you are meant to sit for a while and enjoy your time there. I have been to this cafe several times and have had a lovely time each and every time.

More spacious and attractively decorated than when it was Costa's which is a good thing. Coffee is pretty tasteless and the food looks and tastes uninspiring so sadly I wont be visiting again.

Popped in for a drink and a cake. (Not our first visit) Chose from their own table sign ANY CAKE AND HOT DRINK £3.50. Was served by a very nice lady and while cutting our requested cake was told by what we assumed was her manager to cut the slice of cake into two. After paying we thought that it was expensive for what we had - two teas an Americano and two very thin slices of cake. So went back to question it and was told the cake we had chosen was special cake and not part of the offer. SO ANY CAKE DOES NOT MEAN ANY CAKE!!!!! WILL NOT BE VISTING AGAIN.

This is an independent coffee shop situated in side Waterstones book shop. Decorated in a seaside theme, serving teas and coffee, with homemade cakes. There is also a special offers board. A lovely coffee shop for a relaxing drink whilst shopping.

Comfortable seating. Good coffee. It is cold though as the cafe is right by the open doors into the shopping centre which is also cold.

This used to be Costa Coffee inside Waterstone's bookshop. But now it has been renamed "Cafe W" and, my goodness, what an improvement! The space has been widened, more tables and chairs, and some are even placed amongst the carrels of books and bookshelves, so you can sit and read and drink your coffee at the same time. A very trendy buzz and great for meeting friends for a catchup. Makes me feel really "with-it"! Coffee and tea very good indeed. The uplift has energized the staff who are now more enthusiastic and charming! A great meeting place.

Normally we would say 'full 5 stars' as we love the place; but when we visited Thurs this week, [29/8] we requested a coffee & a fresh fruit mango drink [which is amazing!] Time 3.50 pm I was told I could only have the coffee, but as they were closing at 4.0 pm they were not doing Mango drinks, just their own. I was led to believe, and the website states 8-5pm! Curtly told that's it! Thank you very much young lady. One attitude spoiling what has been a lovely place to go. Are you always going to move your closing times during weekdays?

A large area in Waterstones is occupied by this cafe. Lovely coffee and very good selection of cakes and snacks, counter service but very helpful with older customers. Great friendly staff and moderate prices - very popular with the locals.

Really good service from the staff. The food overall was good. The fish and chips wasn't as good as usual. Would definitely recommend.

Not overly large place so booking is advisable. Having said that, 4 of us turned up without a reservation having had some difficulty in booking a table ? However, the lovely guy at the desk shuffled things around and got us a table. What a great experience ! Chicken, beef, lamb dishes were amazing! Rice, noodles, potatoes, salad, pasta, fish, calamari, chocolate cake, chocolate fountain, gatuea, whippy ice-cream, array of fresh fruit etc etc ... So many choices! We were VERY impressed and have already booked a return visit ! Staff are helpful and polite and kept very busy ! We thought it was good value for money. £13 for children. £20 for adults ...evening price . I think a little cheaper on a lunch time ? All in all a very good experience.

Staff friendly latte was really nice, long wait for food near 50 minutes. Ordered the set breakfast 2 asked for well done eggs and bacon but one egg was snotty! Beans cold. Also ordered the breakfast set 1 and didn’t enjoy any of it, all over cooked! Shame but wouldn’t go back for food only for coffee. Wasn’t worth £25.00 and this included a refund of one egg.
