The best restaurants in North Dorset South West

We were staying at a local farm staying and chose to go here for an early dinner. The place was fairly quiet for a Sunday but we were seated promptly in the dining area and given menus mainly consisting of roasts and burgers. We ordered a vegetarian option, burger and kids meal. All were delicious and the staff were super friendly. However, the highlight of the meal was dessert. The almond and blood orange cake was delicious. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Been here a few times now since new management took over. Always friendly and helpful staff with good food. Would certainly recommend.

Beautiful old pub in small village with lovely walks nearby. Friendly staff and good choice of home cooked food at sensible prices.

We visited the Greyhound whilst in the area for a bite to eat. The service was very good and our dog was treated to a bowl of water and a biscuit treat as well. The young lady apologised for the coffees as she was still learning how to make them. The coffees may not have been quite right but they were tasty. The food was served quickly and was very good and reasonably priced. This place is obviously visited by the locals which is a good sign as it means if the locals use it then it is good for visitors like us.

Please bring back cuos and saucers not smalll V shaped mugs. Don't go the way of American style. Coffee is Italian. You wouldn't have a coffee i n Italy in a mug. Jon Lewis is traditionally English, let't keep standards. I don't take coffee in your cafe. There's a place you can choose your owh friedly thick chunky mug. I realise where we are going with this but believe in the brand, you are not trying to compete with Starbucks. Is that coffee anyway? Your coffee is good. Go back to the white cup and saucer and keep the style. If people want vases of coffee they can order 2 servings.

This is our local Indian and it’s recently under new management. The food is lovely and great value for money however the service we received wasn’t great, especially when they add on a non-discretionary 12% service charge! Would I return? - yes for the food but would definitely challenge the service charge next time!

Over the last few times I have been in store and to order festive drinks . But I keep getting things missed .poor so not happy.

We ordered from here last Friday on the way home from a late lunch. Good pizza. Not fatty. Really tasty. Clean place to order from. Ready in less than 25minutes. Never had a problem here. Would recommend.

My baguette was far worse than a prepackaged supermarket sandwich and that’s saying something not to mention that it cost twice as much! I should have taken the hint when I saw the sign ‘cash only’ - nothing says low budget quite like it.

Poppins is now called the Rose Cafe the food i hot plentiful and they are accommodating for swaps i love cold baked beans.

Always visit this cafe before any fishing trip, and sometimes after. Breakfast is freshly cooked, and very tasty. Love building my breakfast choice, abd believe me. A very BIG!! choice. See you soon.

Had a mixed Kebab delivered it was the worst kebab I have ever tasted Donner meat was hardly cooked, life was cut into slices and would have repaired the sole of shoe and as for the shish that I couldn’t even chew. A complete waste of money. I would avoid like the plague.

Great food as always. But be aware when ordering online you pay over a pound more per dish. And a service charge. So although collected as normal cost us nearly £5 more for a couple of dishes.

Good selection of sub's and we were served by Hari very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this subway.
