The best restaurants in North Devon South West

Absolutely perfect street food! Food looked vibrant, colourful and most importantly it tasted delicious and was bursting with flavour. They've got some cool benches just by the van where you can sit and enjoy your food with a drink, or its a couple of minutes to Croyde beach which is a fantastic location to eat as the sun sets. Brilliant experience, really friendly service too.

Shame that this has closed and we were so fortunate to get there on the last day before it did. When we saw that it was still number one and also award winning, we had to return and we're not disappointed. We just hope that the other cafes in Lynmouth rise to the standards set for future visits.

The epitome of a Tea Room, leaf tea, China cups, plus excellent tea shop food. If you are in Barnstaple, ignore all the “coffee houses”, make your way to this Tea Room. Excellent service, good food, all at a reasonable price. We cannot recommend it more.

What a beautiful tea room set in a covered little courtyard. We discovered this place after reading amazing reviews. The scones are home made and absolutely delicious with a fresh filtered coffee. Although slightly hidden away, it is well worth a drive for afternoon tea

Such a beautiful café, lovely spot surrounded by the sea and beach, staff are super welcoming and friendly, food is cooked to quality and really flavoursome. I was served by a girl called Eva who just made the experience amazing,she was super friendly and accommodating, made a delicious coffee and served with a bright smile! Really recommend trying this place out it’s perfect for a stop in if you’re on a walk or or if you’re staying in the area and need a place to eat x

This is a really lovely B&B and the hosts Colin and Caroline are super welcoming. The rooms were lovely and clean and the best part was the breakfast. Full English plus homemade granola and homemade pastries amongst other bits. In a past life Colin was a personal chef so the food here is fantastic. It's in a a really quiet calm location with nice views of the coast line from the top of the churchyard at the back. It's a must visit for anyone walking the SWCP! They also have 4 beautiful laboradors which was the cherry on top for us!

A lovely family restaurant. Best defined by what it is not; No red sugary sauces! Wonderful, authentic Indian food served with a smile. I will be back!

Private party - very good venue!

If you fancy a decent burger while on the go (takeaway only) then look no further. Really lovely hand made burger with various choices of extras to suit your taste. Highly recommend.

This business did not re-open in 2024. Whilst the staff and food were clearly excellent the least they could have done was close the web presence. Our stay at Beach Cove was partly based on the 100 % 5 star ratings on Hele’s Kitchen, gutted when we got here to find it shut down.

Whist going for a spring stroll around town we popped in for coffee and lunch , lovely to be able to sit out in the warm sunshine and eat alfresco, great coffee , husband had a bacon sausage sandwich and my daughter a ham cheese panini delicious 😋 friendly staff reasonable prices we will definitely be back

Visited today with my family, could not have been a more enjoyable experience. Attentive, accommodating and friendly staff. Ensured the 4 of us could sit together once another group had finished - making it much easier to keep an eye on our two little boys. Offered an easy alternative of baked beans on toast (though neither of our boys like that - think they're the only kids that don't!), but felt assured could ask for a very slight amendment to the sandwich offering for my eldest (6), we ordered our youngest (4) jam on toast which came with a selection of 4 jams! Exceeded expectations all round, expecting a loaf sized piece of lemon drizzle, when lemon cake was offered, instead it was a three layer lemon cake that was delicious, everything was really reasonably priced and delicious. Would recommend without hesitation and I don't know for sure, but it sounds like they provide some level of takeaway too, if you're looking for picnic bits. Thank you

This was so welcoming into what felt like the Chef’s home. It was cosy, the ambience was superb. The food was truly delicious and what was real, we felt we were part of the family. The tastes of the various dishes was just amazing and every dish was so different. The Chef was accompanied by his lovely wife and son who were amazing and helped make the family atmosphere with such a famous chef at the helm.

We visited this wonderful place whilst on holiday and it’s absolutely stunning. I loved the detailed decor and the vibe. The food is all made freshly on site. We had cake and coffee and my son had the vegan beans and sausage on toast and it’s safe to say we have all devoured our food.

I booked a table here for myself, husband, daughter and her boyfriend after reading the 5 star reviews. We had to pre-book our food as everything is ordered in fresh. If I’m honest on first impressions even though Cathryn was really friendly I found it a bit strange ringing the doorbell and it was so quiet but believe me the service was second to none, the food was absolutely perfect and cooked beautifully and Cathryn was so welcoming and accommodating, she was a true gem. We will definitely go back next time we are in Lynmouth.
