A true gem in seaside town of Ilfracombe in North Devon. Clean & tidy. Most important the food was great served with a smile. We have Potato & Leek soup followed by Vegan pasty & Tuna salad, all was fresh & very tasty. Looking forward to our next visit.

We visit Ilfracombe several times a year and in the past used to stay in this protege it was Acorn Lodge B&B, so we're keen to pop in for some luch. What a great experience! The staff are so friendly, the food is delicious and so reasonably priced. The cake selection is amazing. We will be back!

I sought this out, due to the excellent reviews, as there are so many cafes in Ilfracombe. I was not disappointed. Lovely friendly service, reasonable prices, good food and tea and nice relaxed atmosphere. The jacket potato was delicious.

The Cookery has always been ace, but the previous location was always a little on the dinky side. The progressive owners have now moved to a much larger premises just a few doors up (now at number 4 St James Place) previously known as Acorn Lodge. With much more room and a large outside terrace their delicious food and drink can now be enjoyed inside or out in spacious comfort. We have visited twice since the re-opening (Sept 2023) and the move has been seamless - their Oat Cappuccino is one of the best in town - and their existing menu offers plenty of choice - though I suspect that the new larger kitchen will allow for further tasty options in the near future. Always a warm and professional welcome - comes highly recommended.

A great little cafe that has fantastic coffee. Popped in to dodge the rain for a coffee and some hot chocolate for our little ones. Amazing tasting coffee and the kids enjoyed their mini hot chocolates with marshmallows. Lovely, friendly service and v reasonably priced compared to other places where the quality isn’t anywhere near as good

The food here is amazing! Lovely cafe in ilfracombe, serving a variety of food. I had the cranberry and Brie panini and it was so tasty. Lots of filling and generous servings. Lovely and polite staff too which is always a reason to go back.

Quick stop for brunch. Fab coffee, great toasties and amazing lemon and ginger cake. Lovely staff with options to cater to all. Will be making a rapid return soon. Would recommend!

Amazing little cafe with a really friendly atmosphere. Their homemade cakes are the best in town (lemon drizzle 😘) and the freshly squeezed orange juice is super tasty.

The baguette was unreal, followed by a great tasting fruit scone all washed down with a pot of tea. Exceptional all round, if you are passing and there is an empty chair. However due to location you won't get much of a view unfortunately.

We are local and like to have a "holiday" day in our gorgeous little seaside town every once in a while. We have now happily found a lovely little place to stop for lunch. It is only a small place with minimal seating, but the warm welcome we received and the choices of menu made us stay. We had the Extreme hot chocolate each, which was absolutely amazing & my husband had the brie, cranberry & bacon baguette, which I had massive food envy over until I had a bite from my tuna panini melt! The service was so quick & friendly, the food so tasty & warming & such a warm and happy space that we will definitely be returning!

Small but bright and welcoming. Staff very friendly and helpful. Superb flat white coffee and perhaps the best Mac and cheese I have had. My other half said his panini was delicious too.

Terrific soup and panini brunch stop … and a latte as super hot as we asked; result!! ☕️ 👍 Do pay these lovely folk a visit.

I often come to the cookery twice a week and it never disappoints. The white hot chocolate with raspberry syrup is super tasty along with one of my favourite paninis. This week I had my usual with the addition of the creme egg chocolate brownie, it was amazing!!! Always a lovely conversation with the owners and other visitors. Thank you.
