If you’re looking for overpriced food, glacial service, a menu designed by someone who’s just discovered oat milk, and a manager with all the charm of a parking warden, this is the place for you. We booked a table for three (plus three small, well-behaved dogs) a week in advance. Despite giving them a heads-up about the dogs, we were thoughtfully crammed next to a large, noisy party in the busiest corner of the pub, like being seated in the mosh pit of a Coldplay concert. Then began the Great Wait: 40 minutes of being spectacularly ignored, watching other tables — who arrived long after us — enjoy drinks, starters, and main courses before anyone even glanced in our direction. I’ve seen glaciers move faster. The menu? Sparse and uninspiring, like they hired a “Head of Creativity” from a tofu conference. It leans heavily on vegan and gluten-free options, which is fine if the food is good, but not when you’re being charged artisan prices for supermarket-standard fare. I ordered the chicken burger, allegedly marinated in gochujang. Now, I’m not saying they lied, but if there was any gochujang involved, it must have been whispered to the chicken from across the kitchen. The burger was basically fine.. think Wetherspoons on a good day, but at £20, you’d expect a little more than “vaguely edible.” All of this could have been forgiven — overpriced, underwhelming food is practically a national tradition — but the real lowlight was the manager. Rude, grumpy, and radiating the energy of a man who peaked around 2003. After one of our dogs (who had been quietly snoozing under the table) barked when a waitress nearly stepped on him, the manager stormed over to deliver a stern warning: “One more bark and you’re out.” Good to know they take noise so seriously, if only the same policy applied to their karaoke-sized party next door. In hindsight, we should have left right then, sparing ourselves the disappointing food and a final bill that felt like it should have come with a ski mask and a note saying, “Hand over the cash.” In summary: this pub is trading entirely on fond memories and pre-pandemic TripAdvisor reviews. Avoid it unless you particularly enjoy being overcharged, underfed, and scolded like a naughty child for existing.

This is a review for the takeaway. We ordered through Just Eat after being disappointed several times with our usual takeaway. We ordered at 5pm exactly and the Delivery came at 5.40 just as it said it would. The food arrived Piping hot and well wrapped up. Let me tell you, I have had Indian food in 20 countries across the world and THIS was by far the best I have ever had. The starter (the Kings platter) was fresh and vibrant and delicious. Definately fit for a king! Our main courses were stunning. The ingredients used were clearly quality and very fresh. The rice (we had garlic rice) was different to any I had ever had before but in a good way. I could have eaten a whole one to myself! The naan was delicately spiced and perfectly cooked. There is not one thing I can fault (and believe me when I say I’m a fussy girl). We will be back to order a takeaway again very soon, and we are already planning a family meal in the restaurant. Get ordering. You won’t be disappointed! (No I was not paid for this review, I was just really really impressed with the good and the service)!

A wonderful selection of gluten and dairy free cakes - all home made. So far have sampled the ginger cake (moist and gingery) and the cherry and almond cake (so good) - but plan to do a full survey.

Booked in for carvery to celebrate 51st wedding anniversary for myself and wife. On arrival welcome was lacking but table was set aside. A flower on the table would have been well received. Cheerful waitress. ( not able to interact well with us) No condiments on table. When found held together with selotape. Very good food. Chocolate brownie gained top marks! Would recommend to others and bring friends. Keith Rudyard

Stopped off for a hot drink and slice of cake. We were the only people in the coffee shop at the time but waited ages for our order, despite two people serving. The cakes were tasty but the slices were tiny. Also the "regular" coffee was served in very small cups. Not good value for money - will not go there again.

Has to be the worst Sunday roast I've ever seen and didn't eat .ended up going to the chip shop afterwards.ive seen better roast dinners in the 1980's in school .if I would of sat in to see this and not had a takeaway I would of asked for my money back .how on earth you can charge £12:95 is a disgrace. Runny gravy.beef looked processed .vegetables under cooked ,2 potatoes and a stale cold Yorkshire pudding . Total waste of money .
