Lovely spot for coffee & cake on a beautiful Spring Sunday. Very decent flat whites. Delicious toasted banana bread & gluten free cherry cake. I wanted to take a picture of them but they were gone before my camera came out. The pizzas looked fantatstic as well (wood fired in a home made pizza oven). The garden and location are perfect too.

We chose this pub for a dinner because the place nearby where we were staying didn’t have enough choices on their menu. We all were very pleased with our portions and found them very generous (but couldn’t stop eating because they were so good). The waitress was very friendly too and provided good service. Thank you! When it was time to return where we were staying, we couldn’t get an uber or taxi back so very kind local man offered to drop us back!

Beautiful setting but the service was so slow. Queued 25 mins for a coffee and cake which was disappointing. Coffee was really bitter and croissant dry and tasteless - you’d get better from a buying in a supermarket. Was looking forward to eventually having a coffee but it wasn’t great

We were guests of our dear friends, Sarah and James, who are members of Soho House. As we entered, there were tomahawk steaks and large other meats on the counter (enticing!). The menu had huge variety and the vegetarian and light options were just fine. In the end, the whole group of 7 of us opted for steaks, either the tomahawk (for sharing) or the sirloin for the odd one out. Good choice of booze and bar staff who knew their drinks. It had to be said that a few items were "dropped" from our order, but this was swiftly put right by Soho staff. All-in, a very good evening. Hope to be invited back again.

2 Night stay. Nice, quiet location. Wonderful woman/staff. Very welcoming & informative regarding the area. We had the double room (4). It was very tidy. Only issue was, there was an old thick dirty cobweb behind the armchair in the room and also black stuff on the walls here and there. Our Continental breakfast was really nice. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you have to pay extra. We did not use the bar. Soft matrass. I slept well but my wife did not. (Hard to please everyone with a matrass). We did not use the tapas style menu.

This pub is an absolute gem! We went for Mother’s Day Sunday lunch and the service, food, atmosphere and value are absolutely first class. We were offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival and we thought it was a really nice touch too. The pub itself is cosy and unpretentious, a real breath of fresh air. Easily my favourite pub in the Frome area. Thanks to everyone for making our day so enjoyable.

This was the destination pub an upmarket eaterie .Before COVID we used to go 2-3 times a month. Food was classic but inventive and staff were experienced and knowledgeable. Over the last few years we’ve been a couple of times and have been disappointed with the food. We tried it again for Valentines Night and will never go again. The menu was so boring. The food was overpriced inadequate and under seasoned . The Talbot must be one of the loveliest pubs in the South West of England it’s such a shame. Decidedly gone downmarket.
