We walked to The Faulkland Inn for lunch from Tucker's Grave Inn and Campsite where we were staying for the weekend. There were 4 of us and 2 dogs and a bit of rain! The staff at the pub were very friendly and accommodating making us feel really welcome. We had lunch and a few beers all of which were excellent, the Lasagne was delicious and the bowl of chips was so much that it could have been climbed up.

Would leave no stars if possible. Was left blissfully unaware that this pub was still going as last I knew it was shutting down due to cost of living crisis (information I was personally glad to hear and was even posted through my front door) until on new year's eve whilst looking at local events I was informed of a firework display offered not publicly but privately, an event to which they didn't deem it necessary to inform the nearby residents. My wife then wrote to the owner via email to show our displeasure about this event in a bid to get a human response. Owing to the fact that it has resulted in severe injury to our daughters beloved pet in the past. This was met with (I assume) a very drunk or arrogantly rude response, not only has this lowered my expectations of the pub but has left my wife's PTSD going nuts to the point where (in my opinion) the establishment should be forced to close. Again last night the pub inflicted injury on the very same beloved pet when there overly loud fireworks went off! Don't you know you can actually get noiseless fireworks, kinder on the farmers livestock as well as domestic pets. This very traumatised family pet then proceeded to knock over a tank containing more family pets. So we were left to deal with the aftermath of there private event until 4am! I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone simply because the owners are arrogant, mean and less than understanding of disability, they serve such overpriced food that if you can actually afford it, you obviously have a fair amount of excess money in this cost of living crisis and it would be far better spent helping a struggling venue who doesn't cause distress to people and animals alike. When It caught fire due to an accident it should have been left to burn. 1/1/24 Thanks for waking up the entirety of faulkands farm life and the family's of those in crisis. You obviously don't care that your "Invitation only" events are truly selfish and a public nuisance. There are some family's who's 2024 does not start well so listening to out puppy sit whimpering at the sounds of these new noises because he does not understand isn't helping. We asked you to stop. You went out of your way to please yourselves. I hope your business fails this 2024. There are NOISELESS FIREWORKS for a reason.

We arrived without booking after seeing the 'kids eat of £1' offer advertised on Facebook. We didn't received a friendly welcome, the lady behind the bar didn't know if they were serving food, there weren't any menus ready and we stood at the bar for ages waiting for her to decide if we could stay! BUT once we did get seated things picked up. The adults ordered from the Lite Bites menu and I had a delicious brie, bacon and cranberry baguette and chips, which was presented beautifully. Kids meals were big portions. Everyone loved their food. I was disappointed at the dessert menu as the pub advertises lots of amazing cheesecakes etc on Facebook and none of these were available. We nearly left after the initial impressions, but we were glad we stayed and would visit again hoping to try one of the desserts.

We have recently starting coming to the Faulkland Inn, originally to try somewhere new in the local area. We now won’t go anywhere else!! The menu has so much to choose from, and lots of vegetarian and vegan options which is something you don’t get in a lot of country pubs. The atmosphere of the pub is great and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. On our most recent visit we had the vegetarian lasagne, and a chicken ballotine special - all meals very tasty and good portions too. Puddings are also lovely, if you’ve got room! My partner and I recently spent just one night at the Faulkland Inn. The room was pleasant and clean. The shower was good and the bed was very comfortable. Where this place really scores is in the helpfulness and good nature of the staff. In particular Andy, the host, has a very amusing dry wit, is super helpful and is great fun to chat with. The restaurant meals were good, honest, pub food and the wine selection enhanced our experience. I would heartily recommend the Faulkland Inn to anyone in the area searching for a comfortable room and a decent meal. Cheers!

Quite wriggly to find it but we did eventually. The day was awfully raining. We couldn't enjoy much of the walk through the field. The tea room and shop cosy and service very good. I recommend the mint tea!! The best natural homemade tea bags with freshly cut mint. Fantastic. Good for picnic. Sufficient Parking spaces and lovely flowers and vegetables patches to enjoy. I wished more vegetables could be picked and collected for sale. Next time, I will certainly ask if customers can pick and pay at the till as much as we can. It's a shame that those organic vegetables would be not collected and go to waste. Other than that, a very nice place to relax. The town nearby offers good restaurants and bars for locally sourced food.

The staff team at the Faulkland Inn are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and always go above and beyond to accommodate patrons. During our most recent visit, a buttermilk burger was listed on the menu, and upon request as to whether there was the option to have a gluten free version, the team purposefully made one, and in turn produced the best buttermilk chicken burger I have ever had. Don't be put off by appearances - this is a rather plain building built (c. 1750) of stone and not a great architectural beauty - however this place is well worth a visit. Note that it does not open until 12 noon. Inside it is laid out more as a restaurant than a pub with about 40 seats inside, 20 more seats at the rear in the beer garden (adjacent to the car park) and a few more seats at the front next to what can be a noisy road. The interior is also rather plain but perfectly OK. I ordered fish (haddock) in real ale batter and chips, served with mushy peas and optional tartare sauce, at £10.95. It was served quickly and was a huge plate-full, I certainly had no need for a sweet afterwards. The menu is quite extensive so there should be something for everyone here. The place was empty when I went in but filled up quite quickly (surprising perhaps given its rather remote location) including a party of about 2 dozen diners in a group. My only quibbles are that some more attention to details are required - e.g. there are some spelling mistakes on the menu and the server stopped for a short discussion with the bar-man mid-way through fetching my tartare sauce after my meal had been delivered.Free wi-fi is available and the Food Hygiene Rating 'Scores on the Doors' is 5* (reviewed by MDC in July 2015). There is a medium sized car park at the rear and a few more car parking spaces at the front. This Inn also does rooms - 3 are available either B&B or without breakfast. However looking at previous reviews I can see 3 complaints (out of 10 posts) regarding rooms not being available (double booking or other reasons) when the customer arrived - and that is 3 too many. So, in summary, I can recommend this as a pub with good food but beware if you book a room.

Lovely place, Bar a little soulless (had few period decorations) Shown to Room 3 which was up some very worn stone stairs. Being as this was a very cold wet day, the stairs were a little scary, and the door slam at the top did its best to knock us over. We got to the room itself, which was heated by a sole small convection heater on the wall. The kindly gentleman who was looking after us informed us that he had put it on 1 hour before. The room was well firnished, nicely painted and very clean. The shower was of sufficient pressure and well installed. There was no shelf or anywhere easily accessible in the bathroom for a lady to put her things or me to put a razor. The full length mirror was unusable by a lady trying to do makeup as the light is too far away from it (I had to hold the central light to point it to the mirror) The kettle is impossible to fill up from the tap. We filled it using a cup we had brought with. There was no wifi in the room - something that could be fixed using a £25 box. I could feel the springs through the mattress and so slept sporadically On either side of our beds were lamps that had no switches. To turn them on or off you plugged them in. Really? Comically, there were no sockets on the wall by the bed, and no way to plug the lamp on my side in at all! I believe that to fix all these issues would cost between £40-50 and then the room would be worth the tariff The room was very cold. I could see breath in front of my face. The room itself We found a heater in the bathroom and put it on, and 4 hours later the room was 15 degrees according to the temp sensor on my phone. We switched off the bathroom heater before we went to sleep because it was noisy. by morning the temperature had dropped again to about 12 so we put on the bathroom heater again. The breakfast was back in the main part of the Inn. My wife had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and I had a full English. We both agreed that these were possibly the best breakfast we had ever tasted. Compliments to the chef, and great service too. This is the reason that the review is a three star not a two star.

A very smart Inn, tastefully decorated. The steak that my husband had was one of the best that had eaten for a long time..Bar staff were very friendly. I can recommend this pub and hope that more people visit.

Had a delicious lunch with children. Service was very friendly! Somewhat expensive but it was not crowded at all. A great visit after seeing the local barrows.

Booked for a Sunday lunchtime, it was nicely busy, good atmosphere and service was really good too. Food was really delicious and good value. I had deep fried brie with blackcurrant jelly to start – it was delicious, so tasty and a really good sized portion. I had roast beef for main, again delicious and so much of it! Proper gravy! Not a huge choice on the menu, but if you fancy a roast on a Sunday lunchtime I would definitely recommend.

Took my In-laws to the Faulkland Inn the food is still brilliant and they throughly enjoy the meal. Deserts are all homemade. And Sunday lunch is the best, especially the Lamb.

We don’t really know Dorking but came for a comedy gig and wanted food and drink before the show. We booked a table online and then were a bit confused when we walked in as it’s looks like a work space but then has a bar and says it served food. The staff explained they had a limited menu currently. As we were there and we’d booked we thought we’d give it a go. We ordered halloumi fries to start and then various burgers - whilst initially worried this was just going to be a zap in the microwave job; how wrong we were. The food was so good. The food was restaurant quality!! The staff (particularly the gent I assume was the manager) were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely go again; and look forward to when they have their full menu.

Visited Glastonbury whilst on a weeks break in Crewkerne. Popped into to this lovely cafe as it was dog friendly. Forgetting my glasses I asked if they catered for gluten free, they did (it stated it on the menu). As I ordered the lady behind the counter asked if I was coeliac, I told her I was. When the food was brought to the table, the lady explained that she had cleaned the kitchen and prepared my food using all new unopened ingredients. All I had was a corned beef and onion sandwich, but the attention to detail was second to none. Really recommend this place to coeliacs and non coeliacs.

This was our third visit to The Smoking Goat and we again loved everything. Service by Holly and PJ was fabulous, nothing was a bother and we were well looked after! Huge vegan selection and I even got a dessert! Deep fried pickles are an absolute must and the portions are really big!!! Great atmosphere and food. Be back soon

Friendliest pub I've been to in years. We had curry and soup and both were well- presented, very tasty and generous. The ale was excellent too.

We have a lovely little browse around Marlow's Place new boutique store. They have such such Lovely little bits. We brought some leggings and tops and the owner who's name I sadly didn't catch was so helpful and placed all our lovely new items behind the till while we scouted out some beautiful leggings sets. Can't wait to pop back in soon.
