I have a medical condition which means I can't control my drinking and peeing without tablets even with them I need regular drinks. I had just been on a long journey and due to my condition I had drunk all the water I had taken and was thirsty again so to get there and be asked to pay for TAP water which isn't allowed anyway is pretty upsetting so not happy with the place at all no need for it

The jewel in Shepton's crown. Gifted to the town in 1906 by John Collett, it is now a beautiful, mature park treasured by locals and scrupulously maintained. There are swings of different sizes, seesaws, climbing frames, slides and a little roundabout - and a very popular zip wire. The ducks on the boating pond must be the best fed for miles around! And there's a little stream flows through past an avenue of mature beeches. Recently, a refreshment hut opened and you can their coffee and snacks at the picnic tables while you watch your kids play in the playground.

This new Cafe in Collett Park has been opened by an entrepreneurial couple with a great idea. They regularly visited this park with their children and thought it would be great to be able to get a good cup of coffee and or refreshments whilst visiting. So they set about making the idea a reality and Collett Park Cafe is the result. It now provides employment for local people and great coffee and snacks - treats for dogs and even duck food so children can feed the ducks on the pond! This is a great addition to the welfare of the town and a much needed boost to Shepton Mallet. My wife and I have visited a number of time over the past few weeks and we highly recommend this cafe to those visiting the park and even those visiting the area. Thank you for all the hard work it took to get this venture up and running and long may it continue. If you haven't already visit this great little cafe.

Went on Sunday 8th Dec, booked long in advance sending in meal choices. It was my mother in laws 80th and family had travelled some distances to meet up. We were booked in for 12.30. No sooner than we arrived for that time, our meals arrived (not asking if we were ready for a food yet). It was a Xmas dinner, however my turkey was quite stringy, I had about 3 little chunks of carrot and little other veg. My partners beef was extremely fatty. His sprouts were freezing cold and one of his potatoes was hard. No sooner had we all eaten, the landlady came in at 1.15 and advised us that the table was needed at 2pm and we would need to vacate. We were told that the table bookings were only 2 hour slots. We didn’t even have it for the 2 hours as we weren’t booked in till 12.30. We weren’t told at the time of booking that our table would only be for a short time and it was for an 80th and we had all travelled quite far. Basically food wasn’t great and customer service wasn’t either. We had spent a lot of money and not very good satisfaction. Will not return.

We don’t really know Dorking but came for a comedy gig and wanted food and drink before the show. We booked a table online and then were a bit confused when we walked in as it’s looks like a work space but then has a bar and says it served food. The staff explained they had a limited menu currently. As we were there and we’d booked we thought we’d give it a go. We ordered halloumi fries to start and then various burgers - whilst initially worried this was just going to be a zap in the microwave job; how wrong we were. The food was so good. The food was restaurant quality!! The staff (particularly the gent I assume was the manager) were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely go again; and look forward to when they have their full menu.

A truly great evening was had last night. We went for a Christmas meal, and from the point of arrival when we found “Thatchers Zero” in the fridge for the designated driver, to settling up at the end of the evening the experience was great. Super friendly staff, and a well behaved pub dog who just had a look of “please love me” on his face. The food was superb, and the price was good value for money. I would definitely recommend the pub.

Visited Glastonbury whilst on a weeks break in Crewkerne. Popped into to this lovely cafe as it was dog friendly. Forgetting my glasses I asked if they catered for gluten free, they did (it stated it on the menu). As I ordered the lady behind the counter asked if I was coeliac, I told her I was. When the food was brought to the table, the lady explained that she had cleaned the kitchen and prepared my food using all new unopened ingredients. All I had was a corned beef and onion sandwich, but the attention to detail was second to none. Really recommend this place to coeliacs and non coeliacs.
