Very nice pub. Very nice and attentive waiters. Very original in its decoration and with 3 different and very well decorated rooms. Variety of beers and good quality. We will be back...

Awful! AVOID!! A friend and I arrived there about 7.30. My wife and her colleagues were having a 'work do' in the function room upstairs. My friend and I decided to leave them to it (there was obviously lots of shop talk to get through) and catch them up later. We wandered into town and tried another hostelry, then came back about 10.15. By the time we caught the landlord/manager's attention it was 10.20. He refused to serve us because he'd already called 'time', having apparently called 'last orders' at 10.00. What a pub's doing closing at that time is one thing, but then as the landlord/manager was walking away, he spun round and yelled 'you talking to me?!' in an aggressive, wants-to-start-a-fight tone. (All that was happening was that my friend and I were discussing what to do in this unfortunate circumstance). We went, drinkless, upstairs to join my wife and her colleagues. They were having a good humoured sing-song. A short time later the landlord/manager (a thick-set man with a beard), came up, and with four-letter words, terminated the party and told us all to leave. In 50+ years of using pubs, I have never experienced such obnoxious behaviour. This place will crumble to the ground before I set foot in it again. NEVER AGAIN.

Lovely cosy pub! We wished we stayed for another but we had a dinner booking!

Quirky, original and friendly, this old traditional pub is a must....especially if you appreciate great beer. I had the seasonal special Chris Moose! Delicious dark beer, quenched a thirst for sure!

Fantastic Pub, great atmosphere and brilliant service

It was closed when I visited during what should be normal pub opening hours, so t's a big fat zero from me.

Good old fashioned pub. Always nice atmosphere there. Gas stove will burn your backside 🤣🤣 if standing too close.

Nice traditional pub, stayed for a few and the staff made us feel welcome. Have eaten here in the past and the food was good.

Great beer.. Always great Butcombe.. Fresh, bubbly. And great staff too.. But guys.... The loo??? The smell of Jeyes Fluid pervades... To be honest.. You've had problems with your gents for years, haven't you?? Isn't it time for once and for all to sort the heavy reeks that emanate??? So bad the other week we had to find somewhere else for a pint. Shame..

A lovely place with lovely staff. Lots of weird and wonderful art work around the place, like the owner's dog's balls above the bar. Good location, recommend.

Saved our visit to Frome 😃 We had booked lunch at a local restaurant which was recommended to us. It was a terrible meal and left disheartened. We wandered up the hill and came across the Three Swans and popped in for a drink to brighten our spirits. When we said what a disaster we had had the chef came out with some roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy for free! We were hungry and sad but this act of kindness was humbling and turned our visit to Frome completely around! Thank you to the chef and the bar staff for making our day. The pub is lovely, intimate and beautiful decor. When we next come to Frome Market we will be going straight to Three Swans and nowhere else!

This pub was very welcoming and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The decor and furniture had evidently been carefully chosen and added to the charm of the place. Reasonably priced round of drinks.

Very friendly and a great atmosphere

So great to have a professional barman on just now. Served in between pouring Guinness and poured the Guinness properly. (So tired of a tipped glass with Guinness… it’s not larger!) Polite and amazing at his job.

We were staying at The Undercroft which is a gorgeous little apartment just across the road from the pub and the owner recommended we visit. It’s a fab little place, great drinks, reasonably priced and warm, friendly service. Loved, loved, loved it!

As a non local can't say how good this pub is but from my visit it is a friendly place that is well worth going to. Great beers and a bit o friendly f banter with an the barstaff and customers. Well worth a visit. Beers spot on as well.

The three swans is a good place for a bevy.

I really like the atmosphere here. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the local crowd are a cheery bunch. The food is spot on and the beers and wines are well looked after.

Plain old-fashioned boozer with excellent well-kept ales. Shame there aren't more like it.

Came in last Wednesday evening, 7pm or so... Both bars reeked of Jeyes Fluid. Had to find somewhere else. Which is difficult in Frome because you always serve the best Butcombe. Always. So please sort out your loos... Having a (delicious) pint one is always aware of the loos. And as for the gents... One has to hold one's breath when there. Not good. Come on guys.. Can you crack this one?

Gorgeous roast, plentiful and very tasty. Although not a vegetarian I opted for the cauliflower steak and it was particularly delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely old pub. Look at the men's urinal! Proper old school. Not sure about all the stuffed animals. Taxidermists would love it. We only had drinks here but felt really cosy. Friendly service.

Group of mates wrnt for roast. New set up run by nice group of guys. Cool to meet the head chef - he nos his stuff. Food was banging

Me and a group of friends went to this pub for a roast dinner, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was their first time doing a roast, however there was just too much that went wrong. First of all we had to wait ages for the food, then when the food came out there was just too many issues... My friend ordered the chicken and the texture of it, it like she was eating a flip flop! Portion wise there was hardly anything there and the quality was also bad, no gravy was supplied to the people who ordered the beef and then when we asked for more gravy they made out they were doing us a favor as the other waitor said don't worry you won't have to pay! One of my friends was so angry he was trying to hold back the anger as he put on mint sauce but it rushed out the bottle so quick his meal ended up looking like the Amazon rainforest but i guess thats not the pubs fault just him being silly. Lastly to end, 5 out of the 8 people I was with ended up having bad bellys the next day, I believe this was down to the gravy or maybe due to that the meat was just left out in the kitchen, as we saw this when walking past.

Great pub split on two sides. Very friendly staff and great selection of beers. The layout of the pub is also very appealing with some unusual furniture and displays. Would recommend.

A little gem in middle of Frome. Locals are friendly, staff are very nice too. Reasonably priced, also delicious house wines. A proper little pub; no loud music, no juke boxes, gambling machines or TVs. Decorated in a really quirky way - taxidermy, lots of little bits and pieces everywhere Major down fall is the truly awful (both talent and taste wise) piece of 'art' outside the toilets depicting a crying woman having her chastity belt unlocked. Not sure why anyone would feel an enormous painting of assault is a good thing to hang? The only thing (expect for the beer puddles on the bar) which really let it down. Sort it out, 3Swans; I understand wanting to be a bit leftfield but this really misses the mark.

Fiercely independent pub with a array of interesting local beers. If you want to smoke you'll most likely get into an unwanted conversation. But definitely a pint worthy destination in the local area.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch yesterday with Heather and friend Martin, the beef was cooked too perfection, and the Butcombe to wash it down with was outstanding, and all great value for money, so glad this pub is a 20 minute walk away, great place, great staff, and great service.

The pub was amazing, fabulous interior with interesting antiques and artwork. There was a great atmosphere, friendly customers and staff alike. I’d like to rate the staff member that served behind the bar on Sunday with 5 stars, as she was great and we really enjoyed our time in the pub. We waited for a table upstairs for a Sunday Roast, we were seated, by an really unenthusiastic member of staff. We both ordered a Sunday roast that arrived to the table in less than 2 minutes. On passing kitchen on the way in, I could see that meals had already been plated up so it was no surprise that the dinner was cold. The very long hair in the dinner was the next problem, when we informed the waiting staff, the meal was taken away with no apology and as if we were an inconvenience! The same meal was placed back on the table with a finger mark in the gravy where it had been swiftly removed without the plate even making it back to the kitchen!!!!! We decided to leave immediately, as did 5 other hungry diners on the next table! Really bad service and totally disappointing…..

Great pub in Frome town centre, good ales and good atmosphere

Looked forward to a birthday Sunday lunch but placed in a little window seat with constant traffic from customers and kitchen staff. Food was served barely warm and soon turned cold.

Enjoyed a drink with my partner at the Three Swans. The fire was on, really warm inside temperature and friendly warm. Would certainly recommend having a drink here for off the beaten track, English pub atmosphere

A hidden gem at the top of Frome town centre. A great little pub with quirky decor & unusual chairs - such character!. A relaxed environment where you can enjoy a really good meal. Food is excellent! My only criticism is that the service was rather slow despite a quiet pub. I would certainly be back again even if its just for a few glasses of Savignon Blanc.....they have one of the best tasting wines I have ever had!

Great pub with no fruit machines, TV screens, pool table etc. Historic building with fun quirky decor in both bars, well kept ales (always one guest in addition to Buttcombe & Bell Ringer), friendly efficient staff and friendly locals. All that you'd want in a small town local boozer.

Visited pub for a drink in the week. Made to feel very welcome and drinks great. Went back for sunday lunch. Booked table. Food was excellent....beef or pork. Served with lovely vegetables and cooked superbly. Highly recommended 👌. Will hopefully return 👍.

Best pub in Frome! Two rooms joining to the bar, a small outdoor area plus space upstairs too -- all very lovely places to sit and enjoy a pint. Great staff too and nice people - it's the kind of place where you'd be happy sitting alone while you wait for your mate to come! can bing your dog too (pls do)
