Lovely country pub. We went on a late lunch time which was very quite. Though sure it's busier on a evening. Staff were very polite and helpful. Limited lunch menu. Food nice.

Really good Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. Decent ale too. Since this review, I have been back with all the family. Kids portions were as big as adult ones in some pubs, yet they ate it all (age 6 and 8) Loads of meat. Will be back again.

Very friendly place to visit and great to see card games, etc provided which stops folks staring at their phones and have fun and engaging conversations instead. We played cards whilst waiting for a lovely Sunday lunch. We camped in the field at the back of the pub. Facilities are basic, but what else do you need when creating memories and having adventures!? Great place.

Before we booked we checked there was a vegan Sunday roast, on arriving we checked there was a vegan roast (there is no written down menu on Sundays), on ordering we ordered a vegan roast, on the food arriving at the table the waitress announced them as vegan roasts. They were not vegan roasts. The Yorkshire puddings looked suspicious, so I called to the waitress and asked her to confirm that they were vegan. She went away to check and came back to say that no, they weren't vegan and took them away from us with an apology. My partner had already started eating his. We were having a family lunch for my mum's birthday, she's older and eats slowly. The waitress came back and started collecting the plates from around her whilst she was still eating. She asked me to pass my plate over my mum and I said I wouldn't as I would wait until everyone had finished eating. She then went away again, but my mum felt self conscious and left the rest of her meal. On paying, I told the person behind the bar about the mess up with the vegan/veggie meals and expressed concern about allergy sufferers and this just not being good enough. He apologised. Nothing can really make it any better when you've just eaten something you've spent decades avoiding for ethical reasons, or something you're allergic to. But honestly, a discount would have at least indicated that they cared about the mistake. The rest of the food was good, although I do wonder if the gravy/roast potatoes etc were vegan, and the staff were polite even if they don't understand how to deliver good customer service. Some of the seating is nice, but in the dining room area at the back the rows of tables are far too close together for people to be able to get in and out of their seats. There is plenty of free parking.

A British Breakfast Bash! I recently savored the Large British Tradition Breakfast at this pub, and it was a breakfast bash of epic proportions! 🇬🇧 The sausage was hearty, the bacon crispy, and the eggs sunny-side-up perfection. It was a true homage to British breakfast traditions. The service was as charming as a British accent, making the experience delightful from start to finish. In summary, if you're craving a British breakfast done right, this pub deserves a solid 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Camped in the field behind the pub for the May bank holiday and although it was very basic (no showers and port-a-loo) we had a great time, and so did our 2 Vizslas. Nick the landlord was fab and so friendly and accommodating. He allowed us to camp with our small Eriba van as this isn't usually allowed. He also fed us when the kitchen was supposed to be closed: can't fault the man, TOP BLOKE! The goats, and birds they keep were good entertainment and you get used to the turkey noises in no time. They all get put to bed at night so you don't get disturbed. Will go back if we're allowed with our little van.

One star is an absolute gift. The landlady at the Bell was horrifically unhelpful during my friend's recent wedding, to the point were she became a hindrance. Refusing to serve food to the guests, obtusely rude to the best man and maid of honour, and apocalyptic in her attitude to small issues. Her commitment to poorly rehearsed drama was akin to an episode of Eastenders. She called the police on the wedding, cursed as she was by music and enjoyment. The banshee doth melt under the tears of joy, invigorated as she is by tears of grief. Some of the actions of this Uber-Wench included pouring red wine onto rented seats and tables, switching the generator off at 11pm and threatening to call everything off when a table in the catering tent wasn't level. God save us all if thine field doth not sit straight. I will NEVER go near this pub again.

What did I like about it? Absolutely nothing! My best friends had their wedding reception in a beautiful marquee in the bottom field, away from the pub; to which they paid a lot of money to rent, have the wedding catered and to dance all night! The management then took it upon themselves to pull the plug on the generator for the electric in the marquee at 11pm because apparently it was too loud!! This was a wedding with hundreds of people that had flown over from Canada! We were all scrambling around in the dark and the bride and groom were utterly devastated! Disgusting management, rude & shameful behaviour! DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING WITH THIS PUB!

Awful. We camped for a night. The camp toilets were dirty. Someone set fire to their rubbish dump during the night and they had a rooster right in the field which meant very little sleep. The owners had gone back to bed leaving the rubbish ablaze and unattended. When we asked for a refund for the next night as we were so tired the owners went mental as they thought we had called the fire brigade! One of their neighbours had but really they should have dealt with the fire properly themselves. They showed no concern for me or my young families safety and were so rude it made me wonder how they got into the hospitality industry in the fiirst place.
