The best restaurants in Coly Valley East Devon South West

I found the Bear Bread & Bakery on a booking site. I needed to get away, I was burnt out to f"£". I felt welcome & at home. The William Morris room is perfect, a writing desk by the window where I journaled, THE most conformable bed I have ever slept in. The morning, which I don't do well was filled with chat from B&B ers & locals picking up their coffee, even I was happy to join in. On my second night, I slept for 10 hours, so comfortable was the bed The breakfast was generous to the point one does not need anything until supper. Thank you SO much xx

A beautiful spot on the riverside with lazy Sunday music playing. A good vibe going on. Very friendly service, can't do enough, even gave me a plaster! Tea and coffee tasty. Comfy seats. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Wow what a superb few hours we travelled from 1 end to the other.The drivers are very friendly and informative. The cafe was excellent we had Devon cream tea's

On holiday in Colyton this week and we had fish and chips + mushy peas on two occasions. Both times were excellent, so thoroughly recommended.

Superb service great ambiance for a bar. We had Cobb salads and their crab cheese melt thingie. Always a great place.

Pulled in here in on the way back from a holiday. Was treated to a friendly lunch for the family. We tucked into a range of different sandwiches. These were well made with high quality ingredients. The layout of the cafe was spacious and felt newly set up. The sign of quality was the number of regulars in for their lunch. Will be calling in again.

Swift service and staff continuously wiping down tables.Breakfast top notch even though one half of my sausage was a bit underdone.Choice of bread and Tea was lovely. Also ,so good that people with dogs go in a separate room as recently we were eating our Sunday dinner at a pub in East Devon and a large greyhound type dog jumped up and dribbled over my friends plate. Superb experience and lovely staff.

Stopped in Colyton for a lovely lunch at this place. We had a ham sandwich and the quiche. Great size portions for the price. The cheese scones looked amazing, but we were too full, so will have to go back.

Huge disappointment. Be warned! What is on offer is nothing like what is shown on website. Had to wait three quarters on an hour and then had to prompt for menu. Young staff very pleasant but untrained for restaurant work. Had to ask for condiments and table water. Had three different mains and all equally mediocre. Would not recommend. Very different from the divine food service and bon homie of the previous owners.

Return visit after last years stay. Still the same warm welcome and the facilities are clean and tidy. Pam kindly gave us the same pitch as last year which was nice.

A super little cafe with a wide menu and very friendly staff. The tram station is picture perfect and always looks lovely whenever we visit. Recommended.

Excellent service and friendly staff. The menu is great and the service is excellent. We enjoy popping in and grabbing a bite to eat here.

Aunque un tranquilo restaurante Lillie la comida y el personal es genial. Es fácil de encontrar y de acceso. También tienen habitaciones que conozco son encantadores.

Excellent ĺunch (ploughman's) during a recent stay in Colyton. The Kingfisher is welcoming, friendly and good value for money.
