The Bear Bread Bakery and B&B in East Devon

We had a wonderful stay at the Bear Bread Bakery B&B! Breakfast in the bakery was the perfect way to start our day. Everything was delicious, especially the freshly baked croissant right out of the oven. I highly recommend staying here. The pub next door is an excellent choice for dinner, and it's literally just a few steps away.

Spent a night here for our anniversary. Friendly and attentive hosts, amazingly delicious breakfast cooked by Colin. Will Definately be back.

We have just returned from a weekend break at the Bear Bread Bakery and what a wonderful stay we had! Colin and Sharon were fantastic hosts. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and felt so welcome every morning when we went down for breakfast. The food was delicious and the coffee was perfect! I would highly recommend the Bear Bread Bakery and thank Colin and Sharon for making our weekend what it was.

Wonderful place, very convenient location in centre of Colyton, next to Kingfisher pub (yay!). Room and bathroom are comfortable, nice and warm with plenty of sunshine. Sharon and Colin are welcoming, relaxed and flexible. Breakfast is wonderful, apple and cinnamon danish is the best ever! Many thanks, will be back! Owen X

Stumbled across this little gem for breakfast, the bucks rarebit was fresh and flavourful, the poached egg was one of the best ever. Had to take a couple of danish pastries away, they were also delicious. Clearly home made and baked with love. A wonderful place, will be back next time in the area! Thank you :)

The best full English breakfast I’ve had in a very long time. Delightful vibes and lovely staff. A true eccentric and delicious gem of a place, clearly culinary experts at work here with refined abs unique taste.

The take away coffee was PERFECT! So imagine what a sit in one would be like. The only comparable coffee house , for me, is PILGRIMS, on Holy Island. We tried to gave a second cup but, they close at 2pm

We found this amazing cafe today. Very rustic with beautiful home cooked bread/croissants/English breakfasts and great coffee. We hope Colin and Sharon do very well. They deserve too.

Six of us turned up at once, we were welcomed with a smile, good service excellent coffee and cakes

Wonderful!!! The best croissant- extra special and worth driving for. Sharon and Coliin have created a warm inviting space for enjoying friends over coffee and a great meal.

My partner and I stayed here a while ago (only just getting round to leaving a review) and had the loveliest stay in our very quirky and cosy room. The breakfast was deeeelicious and the service from our hosts was fantastic. We know where to stay the next time we are in the area!

This is a diamond find! The B & B is so unique and the owners are nothing but warm, friendly and welcoming. The smell of pastries being freshly made in the morning and the smell of bacon was just so homely. The cooked breakfast was one I've never experienced.. one in a million. Their homemade baked beans are THE best! I will be back in the near future. Thank you for my stay. Carla x

Me and my girlfriend are currently staying here for a week can't fault anything comfy bed and a lovely breakfast and the Danish pastries are lovely highly recommend.

We had family breakfast there, several had the excellent vegetarian breakfast and obviously thoroughly enjoyed it judging by the empty plates.I had poached eggs on very tasty bread.Friendly smiling service, dog friendly. An experience to be repeated.

This is a brilliant little cafe in Colyton. Lovely friendly folk, dog friendly and excellent baked goods. We had a delicious morning coffee and cake stop here in combo with the tram ride and walk back to Colyford. Definitely worth a visit. And look out for the pelican in the toilet!

This is our favourite place to stop when we visit Colyton. The almond croissants are delicious as are the other pastries that we have had here. The coffee is excellent too. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere in the shop. It is not open every day of the week so best check first because this place is worth a visit. As you can see from the menu they also do an imaginative range of breakfast and brunch items

We have been to the Bear Bakery a few times and have throughly enjoyed every visit. The coffee is, to my taste, perfect. The sausage rolls are like no other, and having had more than a few sausage rolls in the past I know what I'm talking about! In fact every meal is spot on. If you go there buy the jam doughnuts... Heated they are a whole new experience!! I rate The Bear Bakery 10/10...

Lovely best I've had in a very long time

Having travelled on The Seaton Tramway, we arrived in Colyton absolutely starving! Thankfully, we found the glorious Bear Bread Bakery and Kitchen. We, a party of six adults and one toddler, rocked up at about 1.40 pm, despite the bakery preparing to close at 2 pm, Sharon and Colin made us feel so welcome, for which we are all really grateful. Colin turned the oven back on and cooked all of us the most fabulous pizzas 😋😋😋, the Veg Bianca is the most delicious pizza my daughter and I have ever tasted, totally Colin’s creation, 👏👏. Sharon delighted two, very fussy coffee drinkers with her amazing coffee, and the tea was lovely 😊. Our little toddler was made to feel equally welcome, he loved being there. I bought an Olive and Sourdough loaf and some fresh free range eggs, wonderful !! A very big thank you to Sharon and Colin, we loved our visit and will definitely return, very best wishes to you both , ( and your doggy )
