I have eaten at the Cobblers and stayed in the B&B rooms above. Food: The food here is absolutely superb. I ate here in the evening and also had breakfast. The evening meals I had were delicious - well cooked with quality ingredients and delicious flavours. My grand parents live in Colyton and eat here often. Superb, attentive service without being too much. The breakfast I had a couple of times as I stayed two nights. This was also delicious, in particular the sausages! Rooms: The room I stayed in was basic, but spacious and clean. It rained during the nights of my stay which created a bit of noise out in the street as the water ran off the roof and down the side of the building. However this wasn't really an issue, I still slept well! Good price for the rooms also - some of the most reasonable in Colyton. On this basis I will stay here again!

Nice freshly cooked food at a reasonable price. An unusual restaurant (former shop) with friendly staff. A little quiet on the night we visited but would definitely recommend a visit.

We found this restaurant on the tripadvisor site and it did not disappoint. Good fresh food, friendly owners and a lovely fun evening. Gluten free bread was ready for our friend and they were informative and helpful.

We have eaten and stayed at this restaurant with rooms previously and was looking forward to returning again. The fish menu is absolutely delicious. However there are other choices. We looked at the menu online prior to visiting which was really good. This is a fabulous dining experience in lovely tranquil surroundings. Accommodation is extremely clean and comfortable. The owners are extremely hospitable. Would we visit there again? We are already hoping to plan our next visit and have visited previously. Really enjoyable experience.

It was the final evening of our week in Lyme Regis, and we found this lovely small restaurant not too far away. OK, our Hi-Life Dining membership drew us to it, but we had a lovely time. Caroline, the host, was very friendly towards us, and there were no restrictions on the menu for Hi-Life customers. The food, prepared by Caroline's husband Russel, was not only superb, it was beautifully presented, especially the avocado and smoked salmon starter that my wife chose. All-in-all this was one of the best meals out that we've ever had, and we'll certainly return to this restaurant if we're ever in the area again.

We visited 'The Cobblers' primarily as a means of varying the evening meal in this small area of Devon and am pleased to say it was well worth the effort. With on street village parking not straight forward it may not be the most accessible place . Basic and perhaps typically rustic in décor and furniture with very few tables ( around no more than 20 covers) we enjoyed interesting starters of baked eggs and mackerel before being served with a most excellent local beef (fillet steak) that my wife regarded as the finest she has ever tasted. There is little more that can be said after that. I enjoyed a decent filter coffee and we left the establishment all the happier for having been there. We found the staff as polite as we expected and were generally delighted with our meal that cost around £70 for three courses for two with drinks.

My family and I were staying on holiday in Colyford and the 5 adults decided to have an evening meal at Cobblers. Unfortunately, because we were a large party (5!!!) and had not booked by 4pm, we were rudely refused entry by the "battleaxe" on the door. The time was 8pm and there were only 2 people eating so not exactly full! We were shocked. Supposedly if we had gone in as two groups of 2 and 3 we would have been served! Based upon this experience, and the attitude of the manager, I am surprised that the place is still open! Steer well clear - the place deserves to fail.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal at the restaurant. Whilst the menu had lots of variety and used local produce including fresh fish we both opted for the steaks which were cooked to perfection. The service and attention we received was excemplary but for us the highlight was the range of traditional English puddings they offered. The gluten free sticky toffee pudding went down a treat with my wife and the homemade apple and raspberry crumble hit all the right notes for me.

Our stay at the Cobblers was a wonderful experience. The food is out of this world. Whilst Caroline and Russel cater for all tastes including vegetarian, their speciality fish dishes served in their restaurant are exquisite. On one occasion two dishes looked particularly nice and the choice was hard to make, one dish was offered as a starter and the other as a main course. Breakfast again was excellent with good quality products being used and a large selection of options to choose from. It is lovely to dine in the restaurant then stay in one of the Cobbler’s rooms. The room was immaculately clean, large and airy, essential as the weather was so hot. Our stay was a thoroughly enjoyable experience at a reasonable price.

Enjoyed a meal here with family members.Very friendly atmosphere between diners and the lady owner, who all seemed to know each other but not in a cliquey way. The menu was sufficiently varied for all of us to find something we wanted. The wine and beer was good quality. The decor was pleasant, and the ambiance was tranquil and relaxing.

A group of us ate here recently for my birthday, it was booked by friends and I was not dissapointed, it was lovely, good amount of choices and very reasonably priced. I had Crab Cocktail and Sea Bass and I desperately wanted the gorgeous looking Treacle Tart but had no room left. Lovely friendly owners - thank you very much.

Visited here when staying at the Old Bakehouse. It was the only place in the town serving dinner on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately we were the only diners but the lady owner was very friendly. Food was very good, starters nice at a resonable price. Mains cost £10+. Various meat and fish dishes on the menu.Wine list decent and I even had some local port for desert with cheese and biscuits. If you are staying in the town definately give this place a go. Not sure what food is like in either of the pubs though.

Do not be put off by appearances. This restaurant is in a terrace and seems as if you are in a private house and sitting in someones dining room. There were 9 of us in our party sat on one table, and two small tables seating 2 people at each one. The restaurant was then full. The food was excellent and there was a varied menu. The owner welcomed us, she discussed the menu then with a young waitress served the food and we gather the chef was the owners partner. The wine list was reasonably priced. As the restaurant is small and select, I would recommend a booking. The food was some of the best we have had for a while. For the 9 of us, with wine, the bill came to approximately £300.

We had to try the new Sunday lunch menu and we were not disappointed. Roast beef served with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cheesy leeks and a proper Yorkshire - not one of those rock hard crispy things restaurants often serve. Followed up with the best freshly cooked Blueberry Bakewell and cream. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks very much

We celebrated our daughter's 5th birthday party today at Amazing Grazing. It was incredible- marquee set up with tables; smaller marquee with tuff trays of games; whole paddock with tonnes of activities from building to tyre rolling to a miniature flower shop; goat, pig and alpaca supervised feeding. Superb from start to finish. Fantastic value for money and Taro was so helpful right from booking to the day itself making sure it was the best experience for our little girl and her friends.
