Went for Sunday roast, it was delicious! Beef and lamb perfectly cooked and great quality meat. Plenty of veg and gravy to go with, we just about managed to finish it all. Saving a bit of room for pudding, the warm chocolate fudge cake was sooo yummy as was the biscoff cheesecake. Servers all very friendly and attentive. Real family run pub feel, much nicer than the chain pubs where you don't get the same level of care. Looked around the garden, very pretty place to sit on a warm day. And the rooms looked lovely (plus hot tubs!) enjoyed sitting by the fire after our meal and chatting with the friendly owners.

Living locally and never visited the White Hart before we thought we would give it a try. We saw it was under new management as it seems to have had a chequered past with various managers. Well we were pleasantly surprised pub is great with plenty of space both indoors and out lots with ample parking. Drinks are very reasonable with a good selection but the food was great. Both my wife and I had rump steak which was cooked perfectly, came with all the trimmings which was great. Another customer came in and picked up pizzas which you can takeaway. Will certainly return and recommend, waiting for the Sunday roast to be on the menu, if as good as the steak then we will return with friends/family keep up the good work!!

This pub has been tastefully refurbished. It has new management from Jan 2024. We visited today 24th April. My wife is in a wheelchair and staff were immediately on hand to open the french doors for access. In the space of two hours we were the only diners apart from two couples having coffee and two fellows who had soup. Despite this the service was slow, staff were frequently absent. I had to knock on the kitchen door to get someone to give me a bill. We felt there was too much emphasis on trying to be different but some dishes, like deep fried bread and butter pudding were slightly weird. The meal was o.k. but service and staff attentiveness could be better. A mild disappointment for what promised to be a great experience. Little touches, like serving biscoff or mints with the coffee would have been good. My belly pork was quite good but served with 'apple mash' which I took to be an alternative to apple sauce, turned out to be mashed potato, therefore the chips ordered as an extra were superfluous. After three months, even a midweek lunchtime should be busier, but perhaps other locals have been reluctant to make a return visit.

Travelling from Cornwall to Sussex we stopped off for a light lunch. A friendly welcome greeted us and we ordered a ham salad sandwich - the bread was a basic white thin sliced, ham, some lettuce, tomato and cucumber served on a large white plate. Something I would’ve knocked up for a trip to the beach - no garnish or crisps which you would expect. At £7.50 per sandwich we were extremely disappointed. We regularly travel this route but will definitely not be visiting again.

Popped in here for dinner with the family when staying locally on holiday. We had a warm welcome from the new host who accommodated my tired and fussy eater daughter by preparing a dish of pasta with butter. The menu included classics like beef bourgingnon, or salmon with prawns and dauphinois potatoes. Desserts were yummy and I loved it when the host brought strawberries and cream with extra ice cream on the house for my brother’s girlfriend when she said she loved strawberries, and bought a drink for my brother’s birthday. I felt they couldn’t be more accommodating and was happy. Well done on your second day, White Hart.

Stopped here for a late lunch and was slightly dubious as had eaten here 3 years (it was ok) Didn’t realise it had been taken over but very glad it has been. Great decor and friendly staff. Took ages to decide on food as it all sounded yummy. We both chose the pie and it was heavenly; a proper pie with pastry all around and a generous filling of steak and ale. Lovely gravy and they swapped the mash for chips. Probably stopping by for a roast tomorrow!!

My partner and I went away with friends for a group getaway, after much research decided on the white hart. On arrival we we're given a warm welcome by Dean the landlord, Dean showed us to our rooms which were a good size and fully equipped and well maintained.Dean invited us to come to the bar when we were ready and informed us " the fire has been lit".After and refreshing shower we gathered in the bar, what a welcome site this was with its cosy fireplace surrounded by a eclectic selection of seating one for every type of bum.I made my way to the well stocked bar and ordered my pint then made a bee line for the snug.Total bliss, Dean kept the fire stoked all evening it was so comfortable. The time came to order food ( my favourite bit) the menu was for my just the right size and choice, we were hear for four nights so I could try lots of food.Wow brilliant food and they don't mess about with potions, it looked great and tasted amazing ( venison and stilton burger nearly made me cry it was that good) thank you so much Landlady Sally and team.If you want to stay somewhere comfortable, clean, friendly that dose great food and drink look no further Oh and if you do get the opportunity for a breakfast here! I don't remember ever having a better one!!

This Gastro Pub / B & B is an overlooked gem nestled in the heart of Wilmington, a couple of mile outside of Honiton, I stayed for a week in Feb 2020 whilst travelling for business. The accommodation whilst not 5 star was clean warm and well appointed with large bathrooms and excellent showers ( better than most Hotels I haves stayed in) The food was well priced, very well cooked and well presented, the menu had a broad selection of locally sourced meats and fish with daily specials. Dean and Sally were perfect hosts and the staff attentive without being intrusive and were very friendly. The pub has a warm friendly atmosphere with plenty of seating with lots of variation given the unique building design allowing for group meals or romantic quiet corners for those special intimate meals. The centre piece area is in front of a wonderful log fire place arranged as an area to to enjoy a drink pre/post dining. The bar offers a selection of beers and lagers etc, as well as a very well stocked Gin bar with many different flavours available and arranged to form a very colourful centre piece / focal point. There is ample parking and even four legged friends are welcome. Would I come again,? Well... I have already booked for next my next visit.

I am apauled by this place.. upon entering it was very warm and cosy, fire burning, looked like a place we wanted to spend the evening for dinner, few drinks and to unwind before we head back to London.. could of done with some music to create an atmosphere instead of listening to the bar staff's conversations.. but let me tell you, I would rather eat dirt than eat here again! The staff were not exactly friendly, I asked the lady, who couldnt crack a smile, behind the bar what rosé they had and before she could answer, the "chef" abruptly interrupted taking my order and assumed I wanted a large glass, because "women love them large" apparently! Once seated, we order our food, including a kids meal for our 16 month old and I couldn't of been more disgusted if I tried. I ordered the pasta bolognese for my son, if "a la ping" is your thing then this is the place for you! The pasta was not cooked properly and had been reheated in the microwave causing it to stick together, I wouldn't of fed it to a dog! So that was sent back and replaced with fish fingers and chips, which was all deep fried and rather greasy. My partner ordered the classic/plain burger.. very gritty and fatty patties served with greasy chips, and I had the lasagne, again undercooked, microwaved pasta throughout! We came to Honiton to look for wedding venues and places for guests to stay yet this place has put us off staying round this way again. We're supposed to be travelling home today yet my partner has been throwing up since 5am!! Avoid like the plague.. would NEVER return here!!!

The food was just OK but the curry had all the indications of instant food. Chunks of quite solid chicken in a very mild sauce. It didn't have the feel of made-on-the-property food. The chilli con carne was better but still extreme mild. The place is adequate but not memorable. It's where to eat if everywhere else is shut.I'm afraid we won't be back. Sorry.

On way to Plymouth for business, ready for food we pulled over to this un a assuming looking pub on the roadside, ordered cottage pie and lasagne, both were superb. Staff young and efficient very friendly service was quick. Well worth a visit, cost if lunch minimal, burger and chips would Prob cost more from fast food.

Lovely carvery, chef puts some thought and variations in to the food Very friendly and helpful staff, only observation is the function room is a bit disappointing though the staff tried hard to make it more appealing

The menu made what was quite average food on arrival sound amazing- it really wasn’t worth the money! Kind of a champagne price and the food that was served was more Prosecco I’d say. Staff were pleasant, we had a £10 off £40 voucher which would not go through their till, so a bit disappointing really as we spent over £90!
