Impeccable service, great food and a beautiful setting. Another place we'll be back to. Wonderful New Year's Day lunch - Prix Fixee - Caramelised celeriac soup with pickled & roasted celeriac and hazelnut & rosemary pesto, Pastrami spiced cured salmon, seaweed cracker, lemon mayonnaise & pickled shallots, Pan-roasted sea bream fillet with lemon scented new potatoes, spinach and parsley sauce, Slow braised beef cheek beef fat crumb, cavolo nero & beef sauce, Vanilla crème caramel, Pedro Ximinez, blood orange & hazelnut. Highly recommend 👌

This hotel is a lovely place with old-school decor and a good price. I stayed four nights but was really disappointed with something that happened during my visit. Due to some reason, I had to have a parcel delivered to me. When I picked it up, I noticed it had already been opened and repackaged. The staff at reception didn’t mention anything, and later when I asked, a male staff member admitted they had opened it, saying they thought it was for the hotel. To make things worse, the invoice inside was missing. I checked with Harrods, and they confirmed it was included in the package. But the staff insisted there was no invoice, that wasn’t true! The parcel contained a £2000 Burberry coat, and I needed the original invoice to claim VAT back. Because of this, I lost VAT on this item, which was really frustrating. How can a hotel open a guest’s parcel and even let something go missing without mentioning it first? It looks like if I hadn’t noticed, they would have just hidden the truth. The package clearly had the Harrods logo and my name on the outside, so how could they not realise it wasn’t for the hotel? This is completely unacceptable and shows that they completely do not respect for guests’ privacy. If I had known this before, I would never have asked them to receive my parcel. I won’t be booking here again, and I hope this helps other guests avoid asking them to receive parcels, especially when they are high value.

Tried to get in the front door at 17.50 hrs on a Sunday evening and was very aggresively told by some jumped up loud mouth stood at the bar that although the bar was busy the pub was closed even though the front door was open and the opening time was displayed in the window as 11pm ! Obviously a venue for the local inbreds and their weird off-spring. Spent our money at a cosy hotel just up the road. Avoid at all costs !!!!

Poor start to their new ownership. Had a booking for dinner tonight and was never notified they are closed for the week due to changed ownership.

Excellent pub and hotel, the staff and management was exceptional, I would highly recommend if staying in the area. 100% 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was part of a large group who had a Sunday lunch. The meal consisted of two slices of pork and two slices of beef. I can’t speak for others but on my table of six, five left their meat. The consensus was that the pork was fatty and the beef was tough. The waitress was made aware of this when clearing the table but nothing was done.

Nice environment, food looked lovely. However all but one staff member looked like they would rather not be there. Food was disappointing, sandwich bread was rubbery, both ciabatta and baguette. The sandwich fillings were extremely salty. The baked potato was cold, the only good things from our group were the sausage roll and fries. Mint chocolate and coffees were decent.

Was served by a young man called Brandon. The worst customer service ever. We ordered and he then said in a rude abrupt way “what else?? “ we paid no thank you or please. Didn’t inform us my transaction had gone through. I asked him if it was ok all he said was “yep”. I asked him again to see if he would say thank you, all he said again was “yep”. Bloody shockingly rude guy!!!!

The coffee is good the service is very good but the crushies have been absolutely disgusting they have no taste and are a waste of money they need to be stronger they are basically expensive water

There are not enough staffs in here. We have travelled to many places for coffee. But waited longest here
