Some of the best pub food ever. The steak pue was out of this world. Superb friendly service and a cozy atmosphere with a roaring fire on a chilly day.

Called in for a beer this afternoon. Served by very friendly professional staff. Explained this venue is our very special happy place. Phil proposed to me in the restaurant in December 2022. We visited for a meal on our honeymoon in April 2023, and today for a celebratory drink for our First Wedding Anniversary. Hoping to be back again long before our 2nd! Thank you Resedale. Great meal. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We had a train to catch and were in a hurry. But the staff kindly boxed up our food for us. The staff were excellent and the food was very tasty.

We had been out driving in the area visiting various places when we needed to stop.for some dinner. Saw this place as we turned a corner and pulled in. Lovely pub in a good location. Parking outside the door. She had the Battered cod which she says was delicious and the portion was so generous she couldn't finish it all. I had their Burger which didn't look like much but when you cut into it (too tall to pick up by hand and eat) the burger was thick and juicy. I struggled to eat everything myself. Recommend visiting if your nearby. Great staff and great food.

Popped into the hotel bar for a beer. Small bar area with tap beers and a few real ales available. Big flag stones on the floor. Staff were friendly and polite and the beer was good. Nice visit.

Such a lovely pub with amazing food. The chicken burgers, which are also gluten free, are to die for. I would recommend to anyone! The staff are really accommodating and friendly. Dogs are also very welcome too.

Stayed in Moreton on Marsh for a few days and ended up having an evening meal here on 3 seperate occassions. Alway had a warm welcome and the staff were all so very helpful. The food is excellent, delicious and always well presented - it was our pleasure to go back. Very popular with locals and tourists alike there was always a really lovely atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you are looking for somethere to have a pleasent meal.

The staff is nice and helpful. The room is comfortable and clean. The food (lamb shank) I took at the restaurant was tasty.

Visited the Redesdale Arms and couldn't be happier! Exceptional value for delicious meals; the pork belly and beef burger mains were divine! Generous portions satisfied our appetites. The service was incredibly friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere of this charming local pub. It's refreshing to find such quality at reasonable prices. We've dined in pricier establishments, but none matched the satisfaction of our experience here. A must-visit for anyone craving good local pub grub with a smile.

We stayed for rwo nights and ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night. On the second night we had booked to eat out. We went out and the rain was heavy so we came back in and asked the manager could we use a hotel umbrella and he said the four umbrella's were not the hotels own but belonged to guests. We went back out and got wet. In the morning when checking out we saw the same four umbrella's and asked the lady who checked us out were they guest umbrellas and she said no they were the hotels for use by the guest. We can't believe how petty the manager was (Could it be because we were not eating in the restaurant that night?). We shall not use this hotel again due to this manager.

Excellent lunch , great service and atmosphere.

This was our favourite pub in Moreton In Marsh so we know it well. It's very dog friendly (a must for us and our Goldie) and the staff are always friendly. Called in yesterday for a late lunch. The salmon and the burger were very nice (not the cheapest but well worth the money). There is a sign on the door asking customers to note their table number and order at the bar. The menu states a 10% non discretionary service charge will be added. Hmm. Not sure how I feel those two things match up. The waitress brought our food, looked at the table and could see we had no cutlery then just wandered off. We had to call someone else over to get some. She was also very miserable and did not bother asking if we needed anything else. I paid in advance (a lesson learned) so it was a bit of a faff asking for the service charge to be reimbursed (which I assumed was but the money has not appeared in my bank account). I was offered a free drink (which was appreciated) along with an apology however we had to leave to return home so declined. It's a real shame as I don’t think we will return any time soon.

Last minute booking and a bargain. I found the staff to be welcoming and friendly. The room was ideal and the cooked breakfast was delicious, particularly the very tasty bacon.

Lovely friendly atmosphere with good selection of draft beers and roast dinners to die for.

We are staying in Bourton-on-the-Water no far to us. Lovely food. Friendly stuff. Vegetarian and vegan options and dog friendly.

We were so SO impressed with our stay and experience at Redesdale arms! Nothing was too much trouble and Paul and Kate were extremely helpful in assisting us with information about future stays! Every single person that served us was so kind. And a special shoutout to Ben on the bar who couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful! His service was absolutely incredible and even more than that, he was the LOVELIEST guy! This place really does have it all, we can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much, Emily and Family x

In visiting the Cotswolds we went in for a meal in January 2024, we paid over £61 for two pub meals with two glasses of wine priced at over £10 each. It was nothing special it’s just a pub. Would I eat there again definitely not. I don’t like being ripped off

My wife and I had a horrible experience at our lunch outing. First we ordered and then waited for over 45 minutes before I asked the waiter if our order was coming. I was then informed that our order had not been placed or was lost. We were given a free beverage and I stated that we would wait for our order to be replaced. After another half hour and three tables being served that arrived after us being seated and the recognized mistake being made we finally gave up on getting our meal. this was a very bad experience for me and my wife on the first day of the year. We came from the States to experience the holidays in the Cotswolds and were very disappointed in this establishment. I would never recommend this restaurant to any of my friends back home in the States especially since I can recommend many other special restaurants that care about their clients. We went in for lunch and ordered 2 drinks whilst we were perusing the menu. We were shocked to be charged just under £20 for 2 drinks Apparently a 20cl bottle of less than average prosecco was £12.95. To make matters worse, staff were at best off-hand. We were told 'this is a hotel', and 'we don't set the prices '. The approach they chose to take was most unfortunate. At best this a pub with rooms. It is not terribly clean, a door marked staff only was black were it is pushed open and just not cleaned. There was debris on the floor from where it hadn't been swept. The pumps were only superficially cleaned. Not recommended, overcharged on drinks and unpleasant staff, avoid and go elsewhere.

Waited 20 minutes for our 2 drinks to come, despite 2 reminders to same member of staff that we hadn't got them, she kept saying they were having problems with their tablets and she would check. We judged 20 minutes long enough to check, and left. The Redesdale subsequently lost out on drink and food sales to a competitor. Memo to pub; get the basics right and look after the customers.

We've been coming here for 10 years every Christmas and it never lets us down. The food is exceptional as is the service and staff. Rob and team always give us such a warm welcome. Thank you and we'll see you in May!!

Went for a drive out from Swindon today for a spot of Sunday lunch and visited this wonderful place The food was amazing and both the starter and mains were beautiful presented Wife had the turkey roast and I had the lamb shank and must say one of the best lunches we have had Will definitely visit again and encourage others to eat here to Staff also nice and friendly with lovely open fire blazing what more can you ask for

We loved it here, we went for dinner 3 nights in a row and we like variety. Due to the specials and a nice menu, we couldn't help but go back. The cheese souffle, fish specials, duck, lamb, fish and chips and burgers were all amazing and would highly recommend eating here. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing.

Chicken burger was very flavorous and tasty! Would recommend and also was made gluten free. Only sticking point was there was a lack of gluten free starters. I ordered the pate but they had run out and were unable to make the Camembert gluten free, even though they had gluten free bread. It was very busy on a Friday night but the food we had was very good. Dog friendly too.

A one night Cotswolds stay at Moreton in Marsh with dinner. The staff all welcoming and friendly and the hotel was busy at all times, dinner was delicious.

I highly recommend their restaurant. I chose their braised lamb shank which was a special and wish I could have their recipe. It was melt in your mouth tender, the gravy was so delicious. Would loved to have tried their Sunday roast but sadly had to move on. Breakfast was also good, plenty of choices to give you a good start to the day.

Service poor, could be taken straight from Fawlty Towers. Served after customers who had arrived later. Wine spilled, waiter had no knowledge of menu. Food burned and very mediocre. Would not recommend on any level.

2 couples, 2 nights. Parking was fine, room size was fine but dated and a bit tatty. 30 deg outside and a tiny fan, no a/c and no fridge. Coffee tea making facilities but kettles were mucky, would not use. The bathrooms, taps loose, shower hose leaking, sink taps almost come loose in hand, shower tray did not drain, plugs did not hold water, towel rail hot, would not turn off. Rooms were dusty. The restaurant for breakfast and evening meal was very good and staff superb. Front of house and bar, aloof, unhelpful, sarcastic. Could be OK, but on this showing would not go near the place again. 4 star price, 2 star performance.

Called in today with my daughter, on a cold Saturday, and had fabulous food. We arrived just as they were opening, and those in the know filled the place very very quickly. Really superb food and service. Great value and a lovely atnosphere

We popped in to the Redesdale Arms on spec for lunch whilst visiting Morton-in-Marsh. Service was very polite and efficient and the food very good quality. Very pleased with our choice and would happily recommend. Only downside was that the decor was a little tired, the seats at our table looked stained and not very inviting. 1 x teriyaki salmon starter with a portion of fries, Ham, Eggs & Chips from the lunchtime specials menu1 x large white wine and a small blackcurrant juice & lemonade £37 total

Fabulous room upstairs. Gorgeous bathroom. The staff were really friendly and the best customer service ever! The breakfast was all top quality local produce. Would definitely stay again.

We visited this hotel for dinner on a Sunday with our dog, as it is one of the only pubs in Moreton which is open for dining in the evening this day. We were so impressed and are so glad we visited!!The lamb special was cooked incredibly, falling off the bone. My boyfriend absolutely loved it and stated it was his favourite meal in a long time! The atmosphere was fab in the bar, and warm near the fire. The staff were also friendly and answered any questions we had.

Warm welcome and a menu full of variety. We choose duck and crispy noodle salad as a starter it was a enough as a main course. My husband is a coeliac so follows a gluten free diet. We had a Saturday night evening meal whilst staying overnight at the hotel and enjoyed a pre dinner drink in the busy bar - nice atmosphere and good white wine.The olives starter was enjoyable and we both liked our respective mains of fish & chips and steak & ale pie - perhaps a little pricey at £15 each. The bottle of SA sav blc was nice and well priced at £23.The restaurant had a pleasant ambience and not surprisingly for a Saturday night was full. As has been previously pointed out, a gratuity/service charge has already been added to your bill when you come to pay it.

We went here for a friends birthday. Ordered 2 Steaks the same & 2 Ducks. 1 Steak was very nice, the other was very chewy so spoilt it a bit. Both Ducks were nice though.

We booked a table for food during euro2020 to watch an England game. The set up was well thought out and wasn't overbooked so there was plenty of room to watch in comfort. The food and service were all very good too.

I dropped in mid week and ate at the bar. The pie and mash was delicious - the pie in particular was really good, full of steak... The mash was OK, and the veg was hot and plentiful. I was very happy.Given my pie experience, I decided to return for a Sunday roast.. I was lucky to grab a table in the bar as it was very full. The burgers looked good!!£17.95 for roast beef is quite pricey. When it arrived, the plate was large and the portions were plentiful. The beef was tasty, and the whole meal was hot, something I feel strongly about. The negatives: Only 2 roast potatoes, and they tasted like they had been pre-cooked and re-roasted. They tasted old. The cauliflower cheese resembled baby food - total mush, and again tasted like it was made days ago. ~Cauliflower cheese should be large florets, (not overcooked) and draped with cheesy sauce. The red cabbage was over-sweet, and again, didn't taste fresh. The yorkshire pudding was nice, as was the green veg, as I guess this was all cooked on the day. Overall, for the price I was disappointed. With a few tweaks, this could be an amazing roast. I did tell the waitress about the potatoes but she looked at me with confusion, she seemed taken a back that I actually gave some feedback. She hadn't asked me how my meal was and when I mentioned the potatoes she didn't know what to say.I know the hotel and bar industry is struggling right now, with staff shortages, etc, so I am not going to be too hard on this place, and I will return time and again.. I probably will for the time being, avoid the roast! I have given an an average of 4 stars - the pie and mash was 4-5 stars, the roast was a 3 star!

Excellent service every time. The food is of a very high standard, and the portion sizes are great. They must have a huge kitchen because nothing is ever out of stock, and the friendly staff always try to accommodate. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited for a Sunday lunch. Service was good and food was fine, although a few more roast potatoes wouldn’t go amis. As per previous reviews though the automatic addition of a service charge is a cheek as you should tip if you feel the service deserves something extra not be obliged to pay for it on top of your meal price! Beef was £4 more than other roasts and quality didn’t justify this.

My wife and I are staying in Moreton-in-Marsh and having arrived late in the evening we headed straight out for dinner. The restaurant was fully booked and so we opted to sit in the bar restaurant. As a chef I'm a little on the critical side and rarely find a restaurant that cooks food to my liking BUT oh my goodness, what a meal. EVERYTHING, and I really do mean everything was absolutely perfectly cooked and the presentation was spot onAs well as the superb food, the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming.There was nothing that I could be critical of. If you want excellent service and excellent food served by caring staff this is where you need to visit.It may not be to everyone's budget but great food and great service in my opinion is worth paying for.If you're staying in Moreton-in-Marsh and don't have a meal here you're missing out.Thank you for getting our short break off to a great start. 10 out of 10.

We visited as a group of 4 after reading good reviews.The food was good as was the wine.Unfortunately we were given our bill (which we weren't ready for and didn't ask for) to discover 10% service charge added. Having just spent a week in London where this seems to be standard practice I was surprised to see this happening in the cotswolds.When will establishments undestand that this infuriates the average working class folk? I will tip if I feel its warranted, its lazy to charge people extra instead of delivering great service and charm and therefore earning it.We didn't complain as were with friends so paid the extra.Everything else was top notch.Would go back but would ask for the 10% to be removed so I could decide what I wish to tip.

Nice meal, attentive staff, but automatically adding a gratuity is a no no. It does state on menu that this is done, but my husband didnt see this and it wasnt pointed out when he paid

My husband and I had an impromptu visit to this pub whilst visiting Moreton. And it was the best visit during our holiday! We both had the beef burger from the afternoon menu (served 2.30-6pm) and they were delicious. A selection of different toppings on offer or just have it with the usual lettuce, tomatoes and relish. The relish was delicious too. The quality of the meat was second to none. A fabulous meal to end a lovely holiday in the Cotswolds.

We tried to book but they had problems with phone line, luckily had a table in the bar. The food was delicious I had belly pork with pak choi and Asian angel hair noodles- fabulous. Hubby had a burger (with no bun as he is allergic to yeast) it was really well presented with onion rings, the burger was not processed, proper home made, came with fries, slaw and salad…. Awesome. First of all, the food was amazing. We were served by a waiter who did his job. We did feel as though the staff really didn't want to be there and we were sat near the kitchen door and felt the staff were very unhappy. We visited previously and enjoyed everything about the visit. We were disappointed that the service charge was already added to the bill and felt this was why the staff treated the customers with disdain. We left the restaurant having eaten good food but really felt the service left a lot to be desired. The couple on the next table were virtually shouted at as they had been told to take a seat in the restaurant by the bar staff, but when the waitress arrived and they said they hadn't booked she was most unhappy. We won't be going back again, when we pay the prices this restaurant charges we want to leave not only full but as though the staff actually appreciated that we had chosen their restaurant.

The service was friendly. The food was good. We can recommend Asian Style Pork Belly and Liver and Bacon.

We have eaten here probably three times a year, we really have enjoyed Fishy Fridays meal deal, but our last visit only average, batter different, tartar sauce was not homemade, and peas not same, please go back to your homemade ingredience

Very nice meal. Fully worth the the AA rosette. Service was a little slow and we felt like we was forgotten about. Ad to ask for dessert menu and the bill took a long time to come. Hence why not a 5 star review

We had lunch here on 02/08/21 and really enjoyed our experience. We had a young puppy with us but the staff were very accommodating and even advised us of a ‘dog bar’ with water and treats! We had a delicious fish goujon sandwich for lunch which we can highly recommend! Overall an enjoyable time and would recommend to others for lunch.
