The pub/hotel is on the High Street, a few minutes walk to all the shops, restaurants and other pubs in Moreton-in-Marsh. We had a four-poster double room (no.3) on the first floor. Although quite compact, it had almost everything needed for our one-night stay. The bed was very comfortable, and a fan and oil heater were provided. The double-glazing was very efficient so the room was quiet even though it overlooked a busy road. The shower room was huge, with a powerful shower, lots of hot water, fluffy towels and a bathrobe. There was a kettle with tea etc and biscuits, but we couldn't work out how to use the Nespresso machine. There were enough sockets for our chargers. The breakfast choice was extensive and the food really excellent (best cheese omelette I have had in years; my husband's full veggie breakfast was also good). There is a small car park, although there is free parking on the high street anyway. The pub/hotel garden looked pretty, but it was raining, so we didn't try it.

A nice experience that matches the atmosphere of the trip I took. The place is old but comfortable and nice. We faced a problem, which is that the room was hot and the ventilation was limited. There is very little lighting in the room at night, so I recommend adding some side lighting.

We recently stayed at this hotel for one night and had a generally positive experience. The owners were incredibly lovely and kind, making us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious enough for three adults and a baby, and the hotel provided a travel cot for our little one. The room was clean, and we appreciated the convenience of having an espresso capsule coffee machine. Breakfast was delightful, with a dining area that exuded the cozy charm of a grandmother’s house, making for a very pleasant start to our day. However, there were a few drawbacks. The lighting in the room at night was quite dim, which made it a bit challenging to see properly. Additionally, the noise from passing cars made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Despite the presence of a small fan, the room was quite hot, which added to our discomfort during the night.

The menu on the website does not correspond to what is actually available. Chicken burger on their website menu says £10, when the pub is actually charging £14.50. Same for sandwiches, those are at least £2 more expensive. No seasoning at all on the chicken itself or the chips made this a very basic burger maybe worth a £10.00. Badly misleading if you’re not local and looking for a place to eat while passing through. Would not recommend and would not return.

Really cozy place. Among other things, we spent three nights in the family room (number 7). The room is quiet, pleasant and the view is great. I liked the large stone window where you could peek in (to sit comfortably) with your morning coffee. Looking out of the bathroom window, we see a bird of prey on the roof. After he didn't move for days, we realized that he was a statue :)))) The breakfast was also delicious, with an adequate selection. Room 8 has a single bed, small but adequate, and room 3 has a double bed with a canopy. The latter is very cozy, although a bit musty.

What fabulousness! This charming Cotswold Inn has bedrooms which are comfortable with character. Food Menu which is traditional but oh it’s very delicious especially the Roast Beef on Sunday or the Ham, Egg and Chips when you just want it to be simple. The team whom work from Breakfast through to Dinner where it is not to much trouble are absolutely lovely so if your wanting to experience a truly English Country Inn within a delightful Town then this one is a must as it’s my preferred choice when I’m in the area again.

Friday 17th May 2024, My husband and I were on our way back home from Devon and we made a stop in Morton-In-The-Marsh or dinner at ‘The Swan Inn’. We arrived and parked out car in the car park. We entered this mellow golden brick hotel, which had a rather faded old fashioned elegance of a bye-gone age. We were greeted by Simon who said that they were fully booked, but would squeeze us in for which we were truly grateful as we had been travelled for four and a half hours. Simon found us a nice table for two and brought over the menus for us to look at. We perused this and made out choices and ordered our food and drinks. My husband for his main course had gammon with two fried eggs served with peas and chunky chips, which he said was very nice and filling. For my main course I had scampi, peas and chips served with tartar sauce, which was delicious. We washed all this lovely food down with pint of ‘Shag Weaver’ bitter for Mark and a pint of ‘Aspinals’ cider for me. We both had desserts. My husband had the apple and blackberry crumble served with thick custard, which he said was the perfect finish to his meal. I had the chocolate orange truffle sponge with single cream (which was Sex on a plate) and was really delicious, and finished my meal off perfectly. We spend a nice two hours here relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. My husband and I did not want to leave, but we had to. We then continued our journey back home to Birmingham.

Context: I have family in Moreton so we used this as a base while visiting. I picked The Swan because of its proximity to the family house. We loved our stay and The Swan met and exceeded our expectations. The landlady and her staff (it's a family business) bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable and our every need met. We were staying on a B&B basis so had breakfast in the morning. We opted for the veggie full English which was absolutely delicious (Other options available). The rooms are comfortable and exactly what we were looking for in a base. Honestly, we could not have asked for more. Our stay was at Christmas and they even left a couple of little snifters and some shortbread for us. It was a perfect stay! Thoroughly recommended!

Very poor. Service was shockingly poor. My daughter's drink had something floating in it. When we asked for a replacement I think they forgot. Waited ages. Food terrible. Fish and chips were awful, Fish tasted like water. No taste. Sausage seemed like they were microwaved. So hard on the outside. Perhaps cooked from frozen. No-one came to us after the meal was delivered. We didn't get a second drink because we were not asked. We didn't order desert because we were not asked, no-one came near us. I would not have ordered another thing from there anyway but that's beside the point. I asked for the bill, it didn't come so I went to the bar. When I went to pay the waitress, she never asked me how our meal was. When I said actually the food was not good she immediately snapped that she would pass on my feedback. I made her aware that she had not even asked me what was wrong with the meal. How could she pass on my feedback? So I fed back! The service was shocking and the food was SO poor. There was a lack of atmosphere. My daughter's burger was nice though. The waitress had no interest in my complaint. Very dismissive. Lacks customer care skills. She is CLEARLY used to hearing it. Water off a duck's back. Save your palates and wallets. A total waste of money.

This is a cosy countryside hotel. Their breakfast is sumptuous and we regret not having our dinner there as well. Service is excellent in particular their superb manager/ (boss?) who I saw everywhere from morning till night. Let me say sorry to him for having tricked him twice unintentionally even after we checked out!

Very nice welcome and decent burger and chips on a quiet wed evening. Plenty of parking. Cosy fire. Recommended - go along and support your local pub!
