After arriving earlier than expected in town, we were so lucky to have afternoon tea here! The atmosphere was gorgeous and the food delicious. The service was slow and it felt like they may have been understaffed at that time of the afternoon. It was also pricier than other options in town — but we had a wonderful time!

We saw on the web site that this restaurant offered a Chateaubriand Steak so thought that we would try it. We sat in the Beagle Bar as we had our dog with us and that was fine. The service was a bit slow but the meal was very good.

We had a lovely afternoon drink, the barman was excellent, really nice hotel bar, the only disappointment was when another customer went to the bar and put his hand straight in the peanut jar and grabbed himself a handful of nuts

Very plush L shaped room leading into another room through an archway to a conservatory area. A small carpeted area in one corner, then wooden floors. Descent table and chairs with a nice layout. Tap beers, ciders and a couple of real ales available. Very nicely decorated with low lighting. Music being piped through which was pleasant. Staff were friendly and polite. Great pint of real ale. Great visit.

Food sounds really good but the food isn't well executed. It is mostly over-cooked and some of it cold when it shouldn't be or just bland or over salted. The food is nice but not for the price-point. Service was a bit clumsy, inattentive and could have been more helpful. Nice looking place though.

We visited as part of my hubbys 70th birthday celebrations this hotel was a lovely find the building itself has character and is central for everything in Morton in the marsh. All staff were welcoming and helpful we had a twin room overlooking the garden well equipt with everything we needed. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was plentiful with a good selection to choose from. We would definitely love to visit this place again thanks to all the staff for their hard work

Absolutely aweful. They over charged us and the food was re heated. Nothing seemed fresh. Burger was tuff and the pork roast dry. They over charged on the fish and had to ask them to ammend it. Close to £400 for absolutely rubbish. Better food at mac Donalds

Tuesday lunchtime. Not overly busy around 3 tables occupied. Staff really friendly. Food was good nothing to shout about. Only complaint is from finishing starter to it being cleared was at least 30 mins. Not a complaint about the staff but maybe not enough staff. For the money £140 for 2 starters a main and a bottle of wine. Morton in marsh unfortunately seems to be lacking a really great reasonable priced place to eat.

A nice dinner! Staff were friendly ans helpful. My pudding was delightful! My only issue was the steak wasn't cheap, but the quality of it was pretty poor. The kids meals looked good though! We did reserve a table for 4 in the restaurant but were offered a table in the bar area instead? Not sure why... it worked out well for us anyway as my husband has hearing aids and there was a large table in there which would have been too much for him.. We had to ask for cutlery and condiments but it was rectified quickly. A nice meal but I wouldn't say price reflects this.

We were very pleased that Ryan, the Restaurant Manager, managed to fit us in to the beautiful Brasserie for an evening meal. He liaised with the Chef to help with my dietary problems. He was very kind and thoughtful and understood the issues I had. I was very pleased with my meal and my partner enjoyed his meal too. The Apple was brilliant, so clever and tasty, like something you would expect to find on ‘Masterchef’! The other staff in the restaurant were also very good. It was a lovely experience in fabulous surroundings. We will certainly be back!

After a long journey up to the Cotswolds for the weekend, we decided to take a look for a decent restaurant to have a very early dinner with our 2yr old son. We found Beagles bar and restaurant and it looked great, beautiful venue and lots of availability online so decided to go have a drink at the bar and book a table in person. The bar staff were fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant manager(I asssume)not so much. My wife went to ask if we could get a table for three in the empty restaurant and this was apparently too much for him to deal with at the time so said he would come back to us in the bar, we ordered drinks and waited. He came back and said there was absolutely no availability which seemed strange as it was completely empty, no eye contact was made whilst telling this little ‘fib’. We sat in the bar with our drinks trying to find another restaurant online and managed to find one(Henne)but had to wait another 40mins for a table so waited in the bar, Beagles restaurant was empty the entire time we sat in the bar and empty at the point of us leaving. We can only assume the manager didn’t like children or the venue is not welcoming to children. I would not recommend visiting if you have a child. Shame as the venue looks beautiful.

We have been using Beagles Brasserie for many years for family occasions. Today we visited for a belated Mothers Day lunch. What a disappointment. There was no Lunch menu available and the Al a Carte lunch was very expensive. Even that would have been acceptable if the food had been good - however it was extremely disappointing. The menu is pretentious using products that most people have to Google. That would be acceptable if the taste was good. Regrettably it wasn’t. Has any one ever has a Welsh Rarebit that was predominately brisket and looked like something the cat had regurgitated. The only decent thing on the Menu was good old fish & chips but even then the chef felt it necessary to mess with the tartare sauce and peas In defence of the culinary skills of the Chef I am advised that ‘Apple’ was delicious. Regrettably we will never return.

Waited a long time to get food. Friend had fish and chips which looks as if the chips had been cooked and left standing- thrown on plate with overcooked fish on top. We ordered twice cooked but the chips were soggy and warm. I had pork chop- tough and mainly fat with one piece of pork choy and a small portion of apple sauce. The chips as above but in separate bowl. With sweet the meal was £37 each. Shan't be going here again! No green circles but can't send without

Menu looked extremely appealing and we were all excited. Starters were lovely, and the cocktails too. But it was a meal of two halves. Each of our 4 main dishes were hugely disappointing. The risotto was almost inedible, the lemon sole didn’t seem to be sole (probably hake), and that dish was almost inedible too with potatoes that tasted like they were very old. The flavours were awful. And King prawns were served instead of langoustines. A hugely disappointing meal, which was such a shame after we all had brilliant starters. Hate to leave a bad review at this point in time, but to pay so much for false advertised and off-tasting dishes isn’t right.

We had reserved a table for four for lunch in the Brasserie. On our arrival staff, including the manager totally ignored us and continued with what they were doing. It must have been about five minutes before the manager finally acknowledged us. Had we not been with friends we would have walked out. It was pouring with rain and we arrived with wet coats but there was no offer to take these coats from us. Having been shown to our table, after another 10 minutes we had to ask if we could be served with drinks. The choices on the lunch menu were totally uninspiring and when the food came it was really disappointing. We would have been better having a bar snack in a pub. I cannot understand how a venue such as this has the audacity to treat its clients in this way and offer such poor service and such appalling food. I cannot imagine how it has achieved the Trip Advisor ratings that it has. We would certainly not recommend anyone using this facility.

The Manor is a hotel where people who are not guests can come to the bar, restaurant, library snug and use the facilities, gardens etc. My partner and I went to The Library - a lovely lounge with an open fire. We were served quickly and ordered tea and coffee. For a nice hotel in the Cotswolds - prices were very reasonable! £3 per drink, the tea was a large pot with a shortbread biscuit, the coffee the same. The waiter was exceptionally polite and attentive. I would definitely visit again.

The ambience at the Manor was very lovely. We ate in the atrium--a very nice setting. The food was exceptional. However, their four course "tasting menu," was, in fact a three course menu. First course was really what a chef generally sends out as "compliments of the chef." It was an espresso size cup of soup. While the main course was very good, it was also very small. There was a pre-dessert which was a dollop of cheese cake in another espresso cup, and then dessert. In truth, the food was good, but dinner should be advertised as three courses, and maybe portions could be a bit more generous, especially since this is the most expensive restaurant in town

A group of 5 of us went for an evening meal here on Saturday night. The table was lovely and the dining area was very pleasant. We enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail. Unfortunately after we were seated we had a rather unpleasant dining experience. A member of the group ordered the 'pan seared tuna nicoise salad' as a main course. When this came out the tuna was cooked through and so very unpleasant (and not cooked as advertised). We informed the waitress of this and requested the tuna be pan seared- as advertised. We received no apology for this and the waitress was quite frankly rude when she replaced the main course. For dessert another member of the party ordered profiteroles. When they arrived the choux pastry was rock solid and inedible. We again informed the waitress about this issue and she took the dessert back. She then came back from the kitchen and proceeded to inform us that they would take the dessert off the bill (um, yes please- we haven't eaten it and choux pastry was inedible) and said the chef wanted to let us know that choux pastry is SUPPOSED to be rock solid and that we have obviously only ever eaten 'pre frozen choux pastry' which is soft. Now, we are a group of Doctors, not chefs but we have all eaten our fair share of choux pastry and are well aware it is not supposed to be completely solid- a crunch around the outside certainly, but not solid (biscuit texture) throughout. This comment was unspeakably rude and patronising. The waitress then basically stopped serving our table. She made it very clear that she no longer wanted to serve us. We were offered no coffee and had to ask several times for the bill to then be informed we would have to pay at the bar (2 membersof our party were on crutches due to injury). We do not like to complain but felt our 2 complaints were valid- the tuna was not cooked as advertised the choux pasty was inedible. We are well aware that mistakes happen and we were very polite when we brought these up. There was no apology offered and the atmosphere became frankly uncomfortable. We were very disappointed by the service we received and will never be returning again. The attitude of the waiting staff ruined what would otherwise have been a nice meal.

Really expensive for very mediocre food. Roasted pepper and tomato soup tasted like Campbell’s soup out of a tin, the sticky toffee pudding was not home made and tasted stale and the main was very average for the price. Between two of us with only one non alcoholic drink it came to £85. When we told the waitress we weren’t happy she shrugged it off. Won’t be recommending or going back I’m afraid, which is a shame because the building is beautiful and the restaurant is lovely in terms of how it looks.

We had breakfast in this location. This was included in our hotel price. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, what with all the glass and the natural lighting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My "traditional" English breakfast was tasty, although, for me the black pudding will have to be an acquired taste :).

We live locally and were keen to take our visitor to The Manor House Beagle Brasserie for an evening meal. We have enjoyed eating several times in the Mulberry restaurant (The Manor House's premier dining experience), but the Beagle Brasserie is considerably below this standard. I had expected the same professional standard/etiquette, but to a more casual degree. I believe The Manor House in Moreton sets its standards high above other hotels/eateries in the town. However, I was considerably disappointed! I didn't find the wait staff particularly welcoming or helpful. One waiter seemed to think that making personal, unnecessary jokes and funny comments should be part of our evening. In fact, I thought it highly unprofessional. The menu was limiting and unimaginative, particularly for the two vegetarians in our party. My main dish of chicken was very average. The sticky toffee pudding felt like it had been reheated in the microwave and was chewy round the edges. What a disappointment. I won't be hurrying back to the Brasserie.

Good point - lovely location. Bad points - this review may end up longer than War & Peace! This establishment was chosen after reading the sample Sunday menu on the internet and it was for a birthday celebration. On being handed the menu on arrival it was almost completely different, with fewer items, than what was on the internet. Fair enough you expect minor changes but not 95%, and not for the roast lamb to be missing. After shooing away a few flies (more of that later) my first course arrived. Unfortunately I had left my magnifying glass at home so had trouble spotting the three Thai fish cakes. After a few minute mouthfuls at about a £1 a time (for those who have ate a Mcnugget in McDonalds they were about the same size) my main course arrived, roast pork. What could go wrong? Substitute that for what went right. Vegetables, including rock hard carrots and beans dumped on the plate and not in a terrine, three thin pieces of pork, a minuscule piece of crackling and runny apple sauce most likely from a jar. Now you may ask why has he missed out the gravy boat? Well I haven't because there wasn't one!. Instead chef had already poured the gravy over my dinner. Patience was wearing thin as the local wasps arrived to inspect my plate. I know it is difficult when the temperature is 30degrees plus in an orangery to keep flying insects away but why leave all the doors open instead of investing in a few fans? With 75% of my meal still on my plate we left the flies and wasps to their meals. My friend complained to the restaurant manager who showed complete indifference and offered no apology at all until prompted. I am aware that this eatery gets good reviews although I cannot imagine why. At least get the menus right daily, it ain't difficult!! P.S.Even the tap water was rationed!

A lovely hotel to sit in the garden on a summers morning. Coffee is ok and the food is good. Just such a pity that they seem to hire staff based on the staff members ability to be miserable and make it seem as if you are the biggest inconvenience to them since the advent of life itself. Every time I visit I am made to feel like an imposition. Such a pity as it is a beautiful venue indeed.

We intended to have dinner here but decided not to after experiencing the service standards. It’s a shame, because I always call in here when in Moreton-in-Marsh. We came into the bar and ordered drinks. I chose a glass of wine from a (very limited) selection of wines by the glass. We asked if they had any drink snacks - we were given a tiny ramekin, of dry roasted (!) nuts. The other choice was olives. We collected the Brasserie menu and went to sit in the garden. The only table under an umbrella (it was hot and still sunny), was dirty and had a used ashtray, which I removed. Staff kept passing by to the building behind. No one came to wipe the table or ask if we would like to order any food. Sandwiches arrived for the table next to us, still no conversation with us. So we decided to leave and go elsewhere.

On a recent weekend break to Morton-in-Marsh, staying at a nearby hotel we checked out the menu at Beagles. My husband, the quintessential 'sweet tooth' was drawn to the treacle tart. We managed to get booked in on the Saturday evening and I must say the quality of the food and the attention of the waiting staff surpassed all our expectations. I chose the lambs liver and bacon which was just divine! The buttery liver and the wonderful mashed potato melted in the mouth. My husband had the salmon with crushed dill potatoes and was equally impressed but for him the highlight was that treacle tart with prune and Armagnac ice cream - the best he's ever had was his comment! The staff were just lovely, one young man in particular was so helpful without being intrusive, sadly I didn't get his name! Finally I rounded off my meal with an espresso martini to die for. At £12 it was a little expensive but as it doubled as my dessert and after dinner drink it was worth it. We will definitely return and hopefully experience the hotel as well because if it's half as good as the restaurant it will be a most enjoyable experience I am sure!

We had made reservations at the Brasserie at the Manor House--the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere in an upscale, but understated, ambiance! The service was excellent throughout! We had the chicken and the gnocchi entrees. Both were very good. I was disappointed that the gnocchi was not made fresh on premises, but, none the less, it was very well prepared in a flavorful sauce. The chicken with carrots was very nicely prepared. Overall, a very good dining experience and I recommend to others.

Had pre-dinner cocktails in the very welcoming and cosy Beagle Bar then went through to the Brasserie in the conservatory. Great atmosphere and friendly, attentive but not overbearing service from staff. Decent choice from brasserie menu. Starters of duck and arancini, followed by steak and chicken all cooked with some attention to detail. Good wine choices too. We had the French Malbec which went down a treat. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their food. Highly recommended.

On Thursday I rang the hotel to reserve a table in their Brasserie for the Saturday and being a Family gathering, (7 covers), I asked if we could have a round table. The young man taking the reservation promised that he would do his best; he certainly did, by ringing back within a couple of hours and confirming the request! Very impressed, with both his efficiency and friendly approach!

Went for a Saturday lunch time and was fairly quiet when I arrived but soon filled up . Since I am gluten and dairy free I was delighted that they had noted my allergies and supplied a dairy and gluten free menu without having to ask . I ordered the seafood board for £12 and apart from having gf bread it was the same board. I found the price reasonable (£30 for glass of champagne , glass of wine and platter)

We ate here last night, the food was lovely and the staff were realy great. Our waitress from Romania was lovely and couldnt have been more helpful. the meu is small but the food is really nice, the conservatory is really nice and welcoming and the atmoshere has a nice romantic feel. We would highly recommend it. I would only say that a slight moan would be that the Manager spent all of the evening being attentive to one table only and didnt go round asking other diners if they were okay, i felt this was a bit poor

Beautiful setting, very elegant. Sadly as my partner and I came in to escape the cold and enjoy a relaxed glass of red, we stood at the very quiet bar for over 15mins without even an acknowledgement. The bar tender, a tall bearded man, was obviously very busy doing another order for a hotel guest, however whilst doing so, didn't acknowledge us waiting or even welcomed us as we walked in - not even eye contact or a smile. We waited a little longer, he left the bar (!!!!!!!!) still no acknowledgement. After the full 15mins wait and being totally ignored in a very quiet and dead bar, we decided to leave and go enjoy our evening elsewhere. Hugely dissapointing for what is suppose to be a good establishment. Should train your staff in manners and customer service if you are working in the hospitality industry.

We called in for breakfast and both of us opted for the 'Ballihoo muffin'; a sliced muffin, tipped with a hash brown, smoked bacon, spinach, a poached egg, hollandaise sauce and pea sprouts. The restaurant was pleasant, with a rustic theme. Service was efficient and friendly. The breakfast looked good (see pics) but was absolutely awash with hollandaise sauce, making the whole dish wet and cloying. I could only manage to eat half and my partner's finished plate was still swimming in hollandaise. Not pleasant. We would return, but would opt for the traditional full English next time.

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.
