The best restaurants in Wendron Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Ever time we come to the helston railway we always have to come here as well! It's a good treat to have. They have a good menu with a good selection that would appeal to all. During the week I always have to go with a soup with the roll then followed by a cake. The cakes are so delicious and moist and the biscuits (though I haven't had one yet) look lovely as well. If you go on a Sunday I highly recommend getting a roast if they are available, you may have to book for this. Ours had an amazing selection on it with just about anything you could want on a roast. We went for beef but there was also a gammon option. It was very well cooked and would definitely have it again! Good value as well.

Visited for the first time today for brunch, the food was delicious. We were also told if there was something we wanted that wasn’t on the menu just to ask and they would make it. The staff were really friendly and we will most certainly be going back.

Would give it 6 stars if I could! Staff were so helpful, finding us a table when we didn’t reserve one, as well as being attentive and overall really friendly. The food was some of the best I have had in Cornwall, big portion sizes and tastes amazing. Never felt a reason to leave a review on a place until I visited here. Overall great experience in all aspects.

Great little bakery, pasties are really good and the staff friendly and helpful.

Decided to pop in today as we had heard it was under new management we were not disappointed food was great pie was superb piping hot and delicious will definately be back

We booked a Friday afternoon slot for our sons birthday party. We chose the self catering options only as most of the children attending were pre school age and wouldn't make the most of the build your own pancakes option. It's great you have the choice. Even though the weather was wet, the kids loved playing outside in the well equipped park. The parents enjoyed the drinks options and Free refills on tea and coffee. We did order pancakes. Absolutely incredible! We absolutely recommend this place for laid back family time with good food and play area.

We had booked a table, on the 4th of April 2025, at 6:30pm. The traffic was heavy and I have phoned to say that we will be late. We were 10 min. late. The tables were empty. only one other family was present. We were told after being showed to the table, they said that we going to have a complimentary drink. Due that the shef have to go out and deliver a meal, but he would be back. After half an hour we have given complimentary nachos as he was not back yet. After an hour he returned so we ordered a steak but there was only one. I ordered chicken wings, but she said I could not have them as they run out. So i ordered onion rings, and I ordered sausages. However, when she asked me how many I wanted of the sausages I said 3. She brought the starters, there was only 2 sausage as she did not think that I would eat them all anyway as they are to big! On the menu is stated mushrooms with the steak , however they was not on the plate, so I asked about the mushroom but they said there are ain`t any , so they given me a piece of a dish with the steak instead of the mushroom, however, we did not liked it and when I asked what it is , the waitress did not know, the peas was cold. She went back to the kitchen , my meal was the sausages, was inedible, and the onion rings was hard as they did not cooked properly. There was peppercorn Sause with the steak , and she brought two different other type of sauce which she did not know what were. Basically the whole evening was spoiled the food was inedible. After that we took home the meals, and put it in the bin. It costed £45. The staff was all at the bar, it was now 9pm, they were all very loud, and the girl serving us was dancing, with another staff. She did not take the payment but another staff did. When i got home I phoned the sister pub and they said they know about it. They said we were very rude and we made the waitress cry. After that, we phone the pub they were not interested as they said: they just try to make a living. We were never go there again and I wish we never gone there at all. We are pensioner and we do not going out a lot, but this was special meal and have never been treated like this before. We eventually arrived back home at 10pm the whole evening was trial and upsetting experience, that I don`t want to repeat.

Great Sunday carvery atmosphere was warm welcoming and friendly. Children and all the family were welcomed Staff were very attentive. Food was delicious cannot fault any of it . Will eat there again

Absolutely fantastic lunch and an amazing friendly service. Such a great menu - I could have chosen so many things. I also think these guys are spot on with their prices. We will be back very soon.

We were expecting to celebrate New Year's Eve 2025, but we left after 90 minutes without any food. There were not enough staff in the kitchen, on the bar, or waiting at tables. We were not the only people experiencing delays. Nobody gave us an explanation for the delays, or an apology. We did get our money back.

Daughter went in Praze chippy for a snack chips fryit and curry sauce fryit was fine and curry sauce ... Chips were awful as usual . Gordie please clean your fat Scape the pans wash em out...boil hot soapy water in them. Cook the chips to order. Jobs a gooden. People don't want to have chipss that are cooked in dirty fat .. if you take my advice you will soon get more customers
