We were expecting to celebrate New Year's Eve 2025, but we left after 90 minutes without any food. There were not enough staff in the kitchen, on the bar, or waiting at tables. We were not the only people experiencing delays. Nobody gave us an explanation for the delays, or an apology. We did get our money back.

Sunday lunch today was really disappointing small amount of veg which was tasteless , gravy had jelly lumps 2 small potatoes , burnt uneditable yorkshire pudding and awful deserts, bread and butter pudding was just like jam sandwich with custard that tasted like being back at school dinners ,warm chocolate fudge cake was hard around outside and not the best chocolate sponge to taste . Waitresses were doing their best but really needed more training on service . £21.95 really not worth it only the positive was everyone enjoyed the meat and swede tasty .

Be wary of booking a table here on a Saturday evening as the service is very poor. We had a party of 4 and pre booked a table a week in advance. After traveling for 9 hours we thought it would be nice to go for a meal and a well deserved drink on the evening. However after placing our order it took an hour for the food to arrive at our table. On top of that, one of our party ordered Mussels and after eating a frew of them found that they were off. Thankfully the person in question was fine but disappointed not to get a descent meal after a long day. They did knock the dish of the bill and gave a complimentary desert as an apology. Not the start to a holiday that you want.

Possibly the worst roast dinner that I have ever had, which was a shame as it was our Christmas dinner! Nothing as a starter that I could eat - the veggie option was parsnip soup and I can't eat parsnips, so I did without. Had a nut roast for the main, but only the middle was edible, the crust was too hard. My Brussel sprouts were brown and mushy inside - luckily, my partner doesn't like brussels and his were edible, so I had his. It might have been the sprouts that gave me the nasty taste in my mouth, but I thought that it was the red cabbage, so left that. The potatoes were ok - those who had them, the rest of the table were served a meal with no roast potatoes. There were more parsnips - also left them! Had the teeniest amount of broccoli and what was presumably cauliflower cheese (it seemed to have some sort of white sauce on, no cheesy taste though). Overall, the veggies were either over or under done, none were just right. Over priced, tasteless and a huge disappointment.

This is a smart restaurant on this complex offering good food. We enjoyed a perfectly cooked 10oz Rump Steak for £19.95 with good chips , tomato and mushroom. We then had a nice creme brulee to finish. Good choice of drinks and wine with good service.

Thought we'd try this restaurant out, as close to Helston. Great dining area & bar, spacious lounge type seating - nice to sit back with a drink before sitting for dinner. Menu was not extensive - a good thing in many ways, although one more choice of mains would of been good. Chose the Cornish Charcuterie Lighter Bite as a shared starter - platter was surprisingly large. Fresh soft warm bread, homemade humous was fantastic. Premium quality olives - not a hint of brine. 3 types of meat, again superb quality. Very impressive & great value at only £12. Chose Fish & Chips and Pork tenderloin as mains. Fish was perfectly cooked and the batter was superbly seasoned, light & crispy. Rustic hand cut chips were great - dish had a real homemade feel about it. Tederloin was exactly that - again perfectly cooked and seasoned. Both dishes large and great value at only £16-18. Portions was more than enough - no room for desert. Best dining out experience we've had all year.

We have visited here 2 or 3 times since the new chef Matthew took over, the food is sensational, good portion size and also the waiting staff are very helpful. Highly recommend it, there is nothing locally that the serves such a high quality of food.

Ate here three times while staying at Clowance and every time it exceeded our expectations. First meal was Sunday lunch and my husband had beef which he said was amazing. I’m a veggie but love Sunday lunch without the meat which they organised for me and chef made me a vegetarian gravy even though it wasn’t on the menu! The Yorkshire puddings are amazing and we are from Yorkshire! Second time hubby had the belly pork which he said was the best he has ever had and again they catered specially for me by making the cauliflower fritters into a main dish. Finally we went for fish and chips. Batter crispy and fish beautifully cooked. Be warned you will need to book as more and more people are finding this Praze en Beeble secret!

A week in Clowance was really enhanced by the fabulous food and service in the restaurant. We had Sunday lunch. Two courses for £23. I am gluten free due to coeliac disease and no problems for them. I had Thai crispy beef on an Asian salad followed by roast beef. Huge portions! Hubby had same starter and roast pork. Visited again Tuesday evening. OMG equally as fabulous. Buttermilk chicken starter and Clowance burger hubby had garlic prawn and a fabulous seafood pizza. Very highly recommended. Book for lunch on Sunday though. Congratulations to Clowance.

I returned to Lake View with my husband, having been to Clowance estate on holidays as a child. We'd booked weeks in advance on a Wednesday lunch time just to be sure we got a space, but we needn't have - there was only one other party there. At least service will be quick, right? We sat down and waited 15 minutes for anyone to come to us. When they arrived they informed us that because of supply issues the only items available were soup and pizza. I know that part isn't their fault, but: 1) If you have a booking, and you know there are supply issues, you call that booking to let them know, even if you think the supply issue will be fixed. 2) If you are inept enough not to have called that booking in advance, you don't leave them sitting there for 15 minutes before you explain that there are only two items on the menu. We both had pizza, as we were pretty hungry, which was - well, probably the sort of thing my husband would knock up at home to be honest, but nevermind, I wasn't expecting much by this point and it was completely edible. The decor on this place was good, the menu wasn't terrible in terms of choice, but the staff were very disinterested and they need a big dose of common sense and a course in customer service.

The food was lovely, but service was awful, we were the only ones in there having a three course lunch, still had to go up to bar to request table cleared and could we order our desserts. Prices are reasonable on mains but starters are very over priced for what they were.

Made the huge mistake of coming on “live music night” which totally ruined any ambience and interest in the food. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Peaked at over 105db!

Much busier than usual now staycations have taken off. The menu could be a bit more exciting, but all the food was beautifully cooked. You need to book early on a thursday if the singer is in as very popular night with Cornish Folk songs which we really enjoyed. Perhaps the menu could branch out to some more Asian style food?

The surroundings are lovely. Food very good but limited choice and slightly expensive. But worth a visit even if not resident on the Clowance estate.

Food can be hit and miss. Good sized portions. Had a carvery on a Sunday and the Yorkshire pudding I had wasn't cooked. The next visit I had a light bite of garlic mushrooms. They were so salty, and I could not eat them all. I rarely have to leave food.

This food was dreadful, chips looked liked double cooked, garlic bread burnt, and well all I taste was salt on the food guessing disguising the horrible food, pizza had way to much cheese, how this place stay open is beyond me, they need new cook, and better food quality and then there won't be bad feed back, never comeing back here again, I had bad upset tummy.
