Cold. Sausages inedible.Eggs feel cooked yesterday. Staff member whistling at the top of his voice which was particularly annoying. All in all not a good spoons visit.

Lovely rooms, very clean and tidy. Excellent service and the best spoons for food we have visited. Well impressed and would not hesitate to go back again. Brilliant.... 5 stars.. 🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐

A reasonably priced hotel. The rooms are cosy, but the beds are a little lumpy. Great shower, but the towels are a bit old and rough. The walls are a little on the thin side. It's not ideal if you have noisy neighbours with a baby 🤷 If you are travelling light on a restricted budget, it will do. The star of our stay had to be the breakfast, seved till noon. It is a great treat and it was an awesome way to start our day after a leisurely lie in. Incredibly low priced, too, with unlimited hot drinks. It's definitely worthy of a 5 star rating as it ticked all the right boxes for us.

Shocking food full of kids and scruffs

Lovely large room with tea coffee etc. Shower and bath. Very hot water was going to have a bath but the cold tap in bath not working but had a nice shower. Comfy bed. Lovely sunset came into room. Staff freindly. Bar downstairs food and drinks good , sat outside in beer garden the tables needed clearing and there were some unsavoury characters out there. I'm not a prude but there was one disgusting bloke out there with his zip half down shouting out dirty things to his freinds and swearing loudly it's a shame they allow people like that to spoil what would have been a nice evening.

Drinks at a good price. Quite atmosphere, ideal for having a drink and a chat.

A good price and the room was clean and comfortable. The free teas and coffees were plentiful and I was able to take food from the Wetherspoons below back to the room.

Another big Wetherspoons pub. In old market buildings. Usual food & beer. Low prices. I was well advised by a local to get served at the extreme left hand end of bar.

Rude staff, exceptionally rude individuals, I went here as a couple, my husband and I don't often go but when we do it's normally ok. However we sat, ate and watched an extremely rude waiter, he was back and forth, moaning and insulting patrons. Even once suggested "salting food" but said in such away, that meant something else. He wore a bright shirt (is this uniform colours for the pub?) my husband was going to approach management however we realised management was a lady who was either joining in with the terrible discussions of tainting patrons food or barking orders, being genuinely rude to other customers. I would have preferred to not go back than to bring my concerns to this person. Il stick to my local.

I overheard two members of staff insulting me and my adult children, I complained, the deputy manager Claire, she was extremely unprofessional. She sneered at my complaint, told me I am a liar and as this is happening I was surrounded by her staff. Feeling very very overwhelmed and intimidated by the staff surrounding me I walked back to my table. I sat with the manager (her boss) Liam. He was very nice and polite. He apologised for the behaviour. I explained I was complaining to the head office about the behaviour (which I did). One week later I have an email asking me not to return to the premises as per Liam's discretion. He sat with me, apologised and we cleared away our plates and went out merry way. I've had this information like I'm an aggressive criminal. Well I've asked for the CCTV and I will go further with this. I will not be intimidated by an individual to then call me a liar. If you complain you are barred? I'm a professional individual, who lives locally and this is a disgrace. I don't drink, I was having lunch. All this over beans!

Easter weekend and first visit,on par with other spoons hotels I've stayed in,parking's a pain ,suggest looking down Rectory road ,no restrictions as its residential !

Really good room and staff very helpful. Food good though breakfast is distinctly heavy on carbs and protein and low on other areas. No car parking is possible which is a bit of a nuisance. Wi-Fi intermittent is a pain.

Usual stay over. We have been staying at this hotel every year for 8 years. We love it . Big extremely comfortable rooms, always kept to same high standard of cleanliness. The biggest draw to Wetherspoons as a company and always this hotel are the teams. Always happy, helpful, keen and welcoming. Hard to beat and stand out against other places we visit.

I didn't have a room. But the service and food were excellent.

Never had a problem here before. Was out with friends having a lovely time. Last orders came. Stood at the bar finishing my pint then a female worker started shouting at me saying 'I've told you twice now to finish your pint' I wasn't the last person in there and dont recall her telling me first to finish my pint (which would be rude) And I have been made very upset by the language. I was sober just waiting for friends. Sorry, but it's uncalled for and not very nice.

Fantastic hotel rooms very spacious modern and spotlessly clean tea/coffee/hot chocolate/water and biscuits replenished daily staff were all very friendly and helpful would highly recommend

Nice size spoons and toilets are actually on ground floor level not up stairs. Has rooms too if you want to stay.

We visited this part of Cornwall for the weekend and had breakfast here twice! It's difficult to fault the breakfast menu, with plenty of choices. I tried an American breakfast which was tasty, whilst the English breakfasts went down well with the rest of the family. Endless hot drinks made the whole meal just what was needed.

A nice hotel room, good food and drink deals. Small unattractive beer garden, but the main bar is nice.

Food was cold. When it came back was way to hot. Think on purpose because we complained. Sticky tables food on floor under table.

Terrible service-I was served by a guy called Jack T. I appreciate people may have stuff going on in the background but it’s no reason to be at work and give attitude to customers when front facing. When I asked him could I order food it was almost like it was an inconvenience, bearing in mind no one else was at the bar. Then when I ordered I asked for a VAT receipt and again this was clearly too much trouble as he grunted and then threw the receipt on the bar. The food came and looked lovely-could have done with another 30 seconds in the microwave as beans and bacon were cold. I appreciate a lot of the food is cooked off in the morning then re-heated. Maybe the duty managers could have a word with their staff about their attitude when front facing in a restaurant.

No parking. Clean rooms ideal for cornwall sightseeing. My stay was let down by the staffs behaviour certain members for which was reported and ignored by head office.

A very large double room and bed. Part of a pub but well separated, secure and quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant at adjoining pub, Wetherspoons, ok and reasonably priced, Wetherspoon, if you don't like beer smell I guess the restaurant may be a problem but while no room service you can take meals to bedroom. Bathroom a bit small but adequate with shower, bath etc.modern fittings and good mirror. Fitted with plenty lights, TV easy chairs in rest alcove. Handily located for Camborne shops and Aldi just across the road. Next door to local church for those interested.

Stayed over the New Year. Must admit we didn't expect much for a weatherspoons. BUT we were overwhelmed with it all. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely amazing!! There was so much room! The bed was so big and comfortable... except for the pillows...they need changing imho. The bathroom is THE best adapted bathroom I have EVER had in a hotel!! Only a couple of things I would add is the toilet roll holder to be at the side rather than behind, a shelf next to the sink for toiletries. And a mirror above the shelf that is already there... also in the bedroom a drawer unit next to the large mirror would be great. Besides that it is perfect. Even though we were staying in a spoons hotel there wasn't much noise., Except for NYE... people waiting for taxis woke us up a few times as they were a tad noisy but to be expected! The food in the restaurant was consistently very good...much better than our local spoons!! Service was always first class. You can tell that there is a good working relationship between all the staff which makes the experience even better. I would highly recommend this place and based on this experience we will definitely try further spoons hotels!!

I can't say much for the hotel other than its a lovely place to stay from what we've heard from our friends that have stayed there. The Wetherspoons pub itself always as you'd expect, great prices and reasonable food for that price. After our visit tonight I'd be wary of one of the bar staff. My partner, waiting to be served at the bar, was served after another patronal bought some Port. The bar staff then offered my partner the remains of the bottle of Port that she didnt ask for, to finish the bottle at and charge her an inflated price, assuming she's had too much drink to notice youre ripping her off when she's not at all drunk. She called you out on it and the bar staff walked off, refusing to serve her the drink she actually requested in the first place because there were embarrassed by being called out on. Its a shame that a member of staff will try and take advantage of a female in that way. Safe to say that it's not what we've ever experienced before and we'd not expect to have this service again.

Great room for family. Staff are excellent and the restaurant is smashing to pop down too. Nothings too much trouble .

The room was immaculate and very high quality. The shower/bathroom was a particular stand out. Only little niggle was it is a zip-link bed which causes quite a pronounced lump in the middle of the bed.

It's about their bar and restaurants. This is the second time when I have diarrhoea after their breakfast. Once happened 3 years ago and today. Yesterday, I did not have any problem. I think when the shorter black guy is here in pink-ish shirt then it happens. He looks paranoid. You need to wait at least 30 mins before you leave otherwise you get in to trouble as he planned it for you. Now, I am in the toilet at least 20 mins. It's sad barristers can do this against a guest who pays a lot for their stat. The hotel is fine. Nice people and organised rooms anyway.

Food poisoning!!! Working away so hadn’t had any food all day. Grabbed a spoons for tea and was up all night practically dying from the inside out, looking back the food was too quick, under cooked and rushed. Still not good 4 days on, a visit to my local hospital is on the cards

Been a few times. Staff are great. Disabled rooms are good. Plenty of room. Beds are a reasonable height. Enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here 3 times now & had different rooms each time with the most impressive being the most recent. Good rooms & service . Food & drinks are some of the better Wetherspoons standard ( the breakfast was actually hot here 😄 compared to some ' Spoons ' I've been to) .

All perfect, from check in check out room cleaning, comfort, and the nice bar where we had nice beers. Super suggested.

We went there for a quick dinner, ordered a steak which was pretty good, with a nice jacket potato. However the peas, mushroom, tomato and onion rings were cold. Staff is nice and the place in clean.

Lovely Hotel, Ryan was a huge help and allowed us to check in a little earlier than designated, friendly man and deserves a raise! Great hotel!

Great rooms and service in the centre of town!

Huge rooms, excellent food, generally nice helpful and friendly staff. Lost a star thanks to one of the door staff making comments to a cancer patient about their "benefits stick" one evening and homophobic comments the next. Aware that door staff are contractors only there Friday and Sat, but a female shift leader condoned this behaviour and was quite rude when I challenged this. Left a rather bad taste in my mouth after what was all in all an excellent stay.

Decent price, clean rooms and decent bathroom and showers. Basic but comfortable. Handy for the pub!

Huge rooms, great shower, friendly service. At £100 or more a night I would expect parking and/or breakfast to be included. Faint smell of smoke.

From when we arrived staff were friendly and pleasant and helpful, just returned from a two night stay there, bedroom was very comfortable and bathroom had a rolltop bath and large separate shower, they even changed the towels in the first morning which was unexpected, would stay here again if in the area could not fault it

Lovely big room, and spotlessly clean. Check in was fast and lady on desk was very friendly and helpful. Food in the wetherspoons was good value for money. The breakfast was nice with loads of choice. We would like to stay here again.

Dear Cornwall Public, Am feeling very shameful and afraid to book rooms in this hotel after my bad experience happened on 10th Dec 2021 08:40 I have booked hotel on 6th Dec 2021 with all payments and hotel staff requested to ring them 08:40 am on 10th Dec 2021 to my room availability and have called them 6 times and 6 times duty manger called CLARE answering the phone call and disconnecting and when I called 6th time am next to reception and CLARE is stating it’s device problem. After questing to her why is this happening and all - CLARE straight forward closed reception shutter my face and cancelled my booking where all the payments were made in advance and she ran from the reception by stating complaint to anyone - I don’t care. Am completely afraid and shameful staying in this hotel from last 1 year when I ever I require and this is how the hotel is treating the public and refused to provide Headoffice email or top manager contact details to provide my feedback by closing shutter. Really shameful

As a pre booked large party I have a fair amount to unpack here, which hopefully will give better understanding to my 3 star review . Upon calling earlier on in the day to see if they could accommodate 26 of us we were assured that yes they could. I was the first to arrive with those who I had travelled with to the venue to find that Wetherspoons had put tables enough to accommodate our party in a fabulous long line and all requests such as a highchair were prepared for us. As our party continued to arrive they each just chose a seat. Each of the tables were numbered so we were able to order our meals either by the app or using the menu's left for us on the tables. The prices were astounding, each meal came with a drink included in the price and nothing was much over the £10 range. My meal ( steak and kidney pudding chips and peas) was under £7 with a drink. The children's meals were less than £5 and again came with a drink and also a small dessert item. Food arrived very quickly and was hot. The portion sizes were adequate considering the price , however the children's meals were definitely larger than other chain brands and filled the plates. My 5 year old grandson had fish and chips which would have been a portion good enough for an adult. This is where I struggled. I took into account the prices already and I also believe that you get what you pay for !! However there were issues with the food, for example I could tell the steak and kidney pudding was microwaved as it was overly so and the crust on the then flipped lid was solid as microwaved food can go. The chips looked good on arrival but again upon tasting them they weren't all that great, the gravy was tasty but I needed more ( so I should have asked I am sure they would have obliged). The peas however were baffling, they looked like peas!!! They rolled around like peas, they were definitely green like peas!!! But they tasted of .....nothing, which for something as humble as a pea was a tad baffling. And others said the same. Others members of our party all seemed to be fine with most of the budget meal but there were definite rumblings of such things as the bread is too hard, so it appears to have been just little things. Oddly when I asked I'd anyone had complained about the things wrong I was met with the same answer, no it was only cheap didn't feel right complaining! I am not convinced that this attitude we all had in regards to the cheap food was for the best. Maybe a lesson learnt. The staff did great, they handled us well. One thing I did not enjoy was even though we ate and tidied up our tables, scraped plates and stacked ourselves we were left for a very long time without them being removed. But again once I asked they were taken straight away. I also asked for a cloth to wipe the table before pudding and was presented with a wad of brand-new dry dish clothes. A few of us did order a pudding, I went for the mini cookie dough icecream and for just over £2. It was enough and very tasty. So would I visit again?? I don't honestly know if it was for an occasion to meet maybe, as the food is secondary , but to be honest if I was wanting a good foodie night out then nope I would not be returning here. The staff were great the food was confusing but I had a great night with 25 of my best friends ❤. It was worth it.

Beer prices and low. Wine quality is very poor. Food prices are very low, but so is the quality overall. There are some good items on the menu, but it's not and Service is good, but the place frankly was a mess as there was nobody clearing or cleaning tables and used plates and dishes were simply piling up by their kitchen. And to put the icing on the cake, the staff cleared empty bottles by rolling around the recycling bin around the restaurant. I mean, really?

Would not stay here again. The room was ok, and some staff were nice and helpful, but I was not impressed with the overall service. I tried to check in with my baby but there was no one on reception, I understand that due to Covid there may be staffing issues, but was not impressed with the service. I dialled 0 as the sign told me to but just called the desk where I was standing. The phone rang and rang and when someone finally came through they had a rubbish attitude. On check out there were 2 people on reception who were equally unhelpful. Told us to put the key in the drop box. Never thanked us for staying, nothing. So, not great customer service and for that reason will stay somewhere else if we go to Camborne again.

Staying in the hote very good pub downstairs is good staff in morning very goodnice and friendly on a nightime busy some of staff are very lax order was half hour late when inquired it had been taken to wrong table and they had drunk it another night order sat at bar for 15 mins while staff chatted to their friends and ignored me when got up to fetch my own order sunday night glasses and plates left on tables for 3 hrs that did improve when wk went on

The room was ok. Restaurant on the 1st night looked dreadful - tables not cleared, no where to sit, took drinks up to our room after chatting to the bar staff - he said loads were off leaving just him and one other. The following day it was better although still only a couple of members of staff running around. The staff that we did encounter were lovely.

Great weatherspoons with great staff, we stopped at this venue for three nights and nothing was any trouble, the staff bent over backwards to help you and ensure you enjoyed your stay, location is ideal for Newquay, St Ives, Penzance and Lands End Camborne is also a nice little town with friendly people and great amenities

Stopping here for 5 nights. Good sized rooms. Decent bathroom. Had both breakfast and evening meals too. Food good, staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here if in the area.

Sarah checked us in and has been extremely helpful, going out of her way (even though she's really busy) to make sure we have everything we need. We ate in the weatherspoons restaurant, food was amazing for the price and was allowed to bring the rest back to our rooms as we're both knackered and wanted to chill. I left my phone at the table by accident, the waiter put it straight behind the bar for me. Only downside for us is there is no on site parking. Sarah directed us to a long stay car park about a 4 minute walk away, around £2.80 for 24hour parking. Wheelchair accessible and walk in shower for ease for myself. Our double room is big and clean, beds really comfy. Would definitely come back, mainly thanks to the staffs hospitality.

Great clean rooms with comfy enough beds, really friendly helpful staff and excellent value for money. Had stayed at a previous Wetherspoons and is was OK but The John Francis Basset was excellent I was so impressed and I'll definitely stay here again.

Welcomed by friendly staff at reception.very large bedroom with lovely walk in shower room.air conditioning.bed and a sofa bed .2 easy chairs flat screen tv lovely white towels and white bed linen .

Thought we try Wetherspoons for Breakfast And it was a disaster the bacon was raw pre-cooked sausages was tough breakfast come out without mushrooms black pudding was still frozen in the middle Went to the bar to ask for the black pudding to be cooked and where was the mushrooms they never even apologised just said they will get it from the kitchen If they were busy I would of understand Usually Wetherspoons is nice food you pay for what you get But surely it’s meant to be cooked I won’t be returning

By far the best pub in town clean and spacious ran well and the food is of a good standard for the price the hotel sits on top of the main bar and restaurant should you wish to stay.

Awful stay!! Booked a family room, which was lovely and spacious. Unfortunately the skylight had no remote!!! So our 5year old was wide awake till it got dark, then woke with the brightness at 6.00am. We hardly slept!! The lady on reception was apologetic and tried her best. Unfortunately noone on reception, too complain when we left, which was early as no sleep. We contacted Head office, which was a waste of time, no help whatsoever. A complete waste of money!!!
