The best restaurants in St Austell Gover Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Whilst visiting family, we opted for a fish & chip supper at Francines. Previously walking past, the aroma was enticing and smelt delicious. We were a group of 5 and being fairly hungry after a long walk earlier in the day, opted for cod & chips & a pineapple fritter. My daughter & myself chose the large size. The portions were more than ample & we could have shared 2 portions between us all, if we hadn't been piggies. Friendly staff with a prompt service, we look forward to visiting again. You can also place your order online or by phone, to collect at a time to suit.

During COVID lockdown I do yearn for something yummy. Thank Heavens Tom's is still open! This week I popped in for my usual Organic Sour Dough Bread, and Organic Malt Loaf, and decided to indulge in a Saffron Bun (whilst on the move). It was sooo delicious, moist, and perfect! I also managed to hide it from the ever marauding seagulls of St Austell - BEWARE!!! low flying thefts of anything eaten outside

A Hidden gem. Lovely little place. Fun games to play whilst waiting for your delicious food. Great coffees, probably the best toastie I've ever had and amazing waffles.

Was busy (mid day) but staff were still attentive. Gorgeous food (had the cluck n korean burger)

Thanks to the The Western Inn who hosted my party last week! Emma and Alex were amazing, nothing was too much trouble which made the party go smoothly without any issues! All party goers felt welcome and will return again for entertainment nights and sky sports events! Food was really good and Dexter made some stunning cocktails! Many amazing memories made ❤️❤️ Highly recommend! We will be back!

Nothing good to say about this restaurant. No ambience. Decor poor. Food very poor. Service ok. Not sure why it’s rated over 4.

In a town that is pretty runs down, this place is a little diamond in the rough. The service was fantastic (small request to change a meal which was dealt with really well). Staff great and friendly with our kids. Food was excellent and the portions very generous. Would highly recommend this place to eat.

One of the best Chinese takeaways I have come across, and I have used a lot on my travels. The batter on the sweet & sour king prawns was simply fantastic. Highly recommended. If I lived down here I’d be a regular. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

Had the pensioners Roast dinner and dessert today it was amazing thank you! I will be back.

Sadly I have had to change my review again, went in a couple of days ago and it was mediocre at best, friendly staff but the food has gone down hill I'm afraid, sorry

Absolutely amazing food! Great staff and very reasonably priced. My father goes in weekly and the food is always top quality and on another level! Highly recommended

Don't judge a book by it's cover. It might look a little rough around the edges but once you get inside you'll love the atmosphere. The food tastes amazing and the staff are friendly and helpful. They even gave our table free starters on the house, couldn't ask for anything more!
