The best restaurants in Finchampstead South Wokingham South East

We had a really disappointing takeaway from here last night. Everything was tasteless and bland and ended up having to be thrown away. The chicken curry had no flavour, the mixed vegetables were inedible and the seaweed had none of the seasoning. It was really expensive too considering we had to throw the majority away. Will not be choosing this restaurant again.

Visited over lunch wasn’t too busy considering the park was very busy, ordered easily and quickly. The falafel sandwich I ordered was not what I expected - I was thinking the falafel would be flat with hummus instead it was whole falafel balls jammed in a sandwich- very strange and messy! Bit of a shame as not cheap..

Was there as a large group in a business setting. We had the banquet which was all delicious would recommend. Good service and atmosphere

On a gloomy, damp Saturday afternoon, four of us decided to walk up to the Queens Oak for a drink and some fresh air. As we arrived I noted the snug bar was very busy... and then found the few tables in the immediate larger bar were all taken. However, the further tables in the rest of the larger bar side were entirely free. I noted that most, but not all, were laid with knives and forks. Not wanting to make any assumptions, I politely asked "we are only planning to stay for one drink, would it be OK if we sit down for a short while?" but received a curt response: "No they are all laid for dinner this evening!" That was it -> no friendliness, no alternatives or follow up, just blunt NO. It was 3pm in the afternoon. Not only that, at least one round table in that area wasn't laid at all. We just looked at each other astonished... and left quietly, with our tails between our legs and shocked at the bluntness of the response. I acknowledge if the staff at the pub do not want local, casual drinkers to sit in that area at any time (in this case 3pm in the afternoon) then that is their prerogative. I'll know not to visit again. There's not much point in visiting a pub if there is no hospitality - it's far cheaper to remain at home and get a drink from the fridge.

I regularly go to FBC cafe after a walk in the woodlands. I love the friendly staff, amazing coffee and delicious (home made) cakes. Breakfast is really good too!! It really is a great place to catch up with people, have a lovely cuppa and relax. Plenty of seating, good vibes and free parking. What’s not to like??

Food came on time, hot and tasted really good, my only complaint was I ordered indian food, which was really nice, but I ordered some extra curry sauce, but I don't like chip shop curry to go with a proper curry, but really good apart from that

4 of us here yesterday, the service was not only amazing but the food was outstanding. Special shout out to quite frankly the most phenomenal cheesecake I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Highly recommend to anyone looking for relaxed atmosphere with fantastic service & food. We will be back:)

I arranged a private supper club for my 40th birthday, for 14 people. We were seated in Goswell and Birds, the farm shop adjoining The Greyhound, which is a fab venue. My friends and I were blown away by the delicious seasonal menu, which came with a wine pairing, and the excellent service from Andrea and Chris. It was an absolutely incredible evening and the perfect way to celebrate my big birthday.

My family and I have been to the restaurant a number of times with my late husband before the refurbishment and really enjoyed the food and experience but since reopening it's not the same. We went for a set meal on Sunday, the waiters were lovely, the food below average because they used the same masala (sauce) for most of our food even though we had different dishes. When it came for the bill I was charged an adult portion for my grandson who is 11 which I was willing to overlook. The portion size was good so we had a lot of food leftover and asked the waiter if we could take it home. He asked the boss who said no because it was a set menu!!! What a waste of food.... As a result the family and I won't be going back. On top of the above my 11 year old grandson who had the chicken biriyani had food poisoning 6 hours later which I hope wasn't because of the food he had eaten at the restaurant.

I can’t recommend this pub highly enough. Matt makes the most amazing cocktails, especially Espresso Martini’s which are absolutely the best and Michael is the master of wine recommendations! Best bar in town!!!

Food is great have enjoyed fish and chips, pizza, fried chicken, kebabs and its always but the waiting time is shocking. Ordered 2 items tonight and pre-ordered them was told 25 mins so arrived on time and had to wait another 25 mins in the shop !! Staff don't really seem to care meed to sort it out
