Absolutely delicious Sunday roast today to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. Our first visit to The Greyhound as we’ve recently moved into the area. Staff so welcoming, friendly and attentive and lovely atmosphere. We both chose roast pork and the best we’ve had eating out in a long time. Roasties, veg and cauliflower cheese, along with Yorkshire pud and pigs in blankets were so tasty and perfectly cooked - our compliments to the Chef! Lovely selection of desserts, we had apple & blackberry crumble with clotted cream, and vanilla cheesecake steeped in cherries, so delicious and homemade. Lovely addition a happy anniversary plate with chocolate brownie, so kind! A lovely afternoon and we look forward to our next visit!

I have dined at The Greyhound twice over the last 2 weeks. The first time for a Sunday Roast and yesterday on a busy Saturday night for a birthday dinner. The service on both occasions was impeccable. Super friendly and attentive with everything served in a timely manner. Also on both visits the food has been absolutely superb. Clearly using great produce our meals were cooked to perfection. I really love The Greyhound. Whether quiet or busy, it feels really warm and vibrant, it is now my favourite place to dine. Worth every penny and I will most definitely be back again.

I wouldn’t normally leave a negative review but if it helps improve the service then great. We came here for a birthday lunch and the service was extremely poor. We had to leave our table to chase drinks a number of times only to find them sitting on the bar on a tray with no one bringing them to us. We think it was perhaps down to the time we were there (4pm to 5pm changeover) but that shouldn’t really affect us. Food was nice though

The venue recently hosted my daughter's wedding. I have reconsidered my review following the response from the pub and some reflection. The roast beef was too tough to eat, it was difficult to get the attention of the staff and my friend was ill. This is the pub i went to, it was booked in my friend's name. I was given a complementary dessert. So there were some positives. I must adhere to my principles and report my experience honestly. I've left my previous text below for reference. I wonder if I can sum this up in one word? Rubbish. My beef would have been better employed protecting my feet. My friend was ill after the delights of the stale pork.

I can find no fault in this lovely establishment at all! A beautiful building inside and out to start with. We had a booking for 3 and had had to change the time because of traffic which was no problem at all. The staff were very professional and friendly and showed us to our table outside. The choice of food was excellent and we were told they had a fresh fish delivery that day so I chose the lobster for my main and I had the goats cheese and asparagus tart with poached egg to start. The food is of very high quality and was delicious. For dessert I had the vanilla cheesecake with strawberries and they kindly wrote happy birthday in chocolate around my plate. If you have a special occasion or just want an excellent meal this is definately the place to go.

Staying with my parents in Finchampstead (they live in one of the surrounding houses to the pub) We’ve lived here for the last 18 years. Popped in around midday for a quick bite to eat with my 2.5 year old son, he needed some food before we headed back to London. Asked if they had any tables inside or out and we were immediately greeted by a rude member of staff who said there was no space for us at all (despite the pub being empty). We were looked up and down and told no. We are local to the area, have been here through all the pub owner changes. I went home and checked whether I could find a table online or whether they just genuinely didn’t have space however online there were tables available all afternoon. VERY disappointed. My parents virtually live next door - such a shame to have such a snooty pub right by the house. All we wanted was a plate of chips for my little one in the sun.

This is difficult to write as the food is lovely and on this occasion, so were the staff. However this is my second time going to The Greyhound and finding hair in my food. The last occasion was my first visit and I found 2 pieces of hair in 2 different dishes. I was told that it was the first time they have ever found hair in their food? However I returned for the second time, hoping I wouldn’t find hair in my food. However, as we got to dessert, my partner found a hair baked into his dessert. The server did come over and replaced the meal but we were told it’s from the pastry brush and not a human hair as “that would be disgusting”. I would have believed this if this wasn’t the second time I was finding hair in my food here. I’m concerned to think that I cannot be the only person finding hairs in my food before eating it. You would also think that due to the premium pricing of the restaurant, that food quality wouldn’t be this poor. Our meals still cost around £89… Unfortunately I won’t be returning as the redemption visit I tried to give it, was not successful.

I chose the fish and chips, the fish wasn’t in good condition, I could feel that the mushy and disgusting texture was not normal. The waiter (I believe he was the manager) offered to bring another one but with a very condescending attitude, I could understand perfectly he wasn’t believing in me. The second fish was perfect, very fresh and tasty. He asked how was the second fish and I told him that it was very good, very different from the first one. That would be his opportunity to apologise. He didn’t. At the end, we paid the full bill, no compensation for ruining our meal and again no apologies.

The greyhound goes back a very long way for me. I’ve known it for as long as I’ve lived in Finchampstead and that’s coming up to 20 years. I’ve seen it change from hand to hand and it only seems to be getting better. I remember going with my Grandad after school to have a pudding! With a lot of strong competition in the area, The Greyhound is still my go to. My mum, I and my grandad ate on Easter bank holiday Monday and were very satisfied. It was safe to say there was no room for any chocolate after the well-sized portions. The eloquent young lady who partly served us stood out as extremely polite and caring. I have never had bad service here. I’ve been here approximately 50+ times in my lifetime and it never fails to disappoint. The food is always excellent, the staff are very professional and friendly. We came here for lunch on Easter Monday as a couple of friends recommended this, especially for the beef wellington which sadly was not on the menu. Lovely airy and modern feel to the dining area. Food ok, husband had a burger which was quite pink inside which he ate but he would have preferred more cooked and I had the chicken which was lovely. He ordered chocolate delice for pudding which he liked, my only grumble was that I asked if I could have cheese and biscuits for one as on the menu for the price (i think £14) it was clearly meant for sharing and the waitress said no, the kitchen couldn’t do that which I thought was a bit odd as you could have just had less cheese and less crackers! Anyway I ended up with the jersey rice pudding which was nice although I was expecting it to be hot and not cold. I think we will try again and hopefully will be up to the five stars that everyone else has given. They must be doing something right though as it was extremely busy so I would recommend booking.

Absolute shambles of a place. Used to be a nice little pub with decent pub meals. Clearly changed ownership as it's now a wannabe boujee restaurant. Food took a long time to arrive, tiny portion sizes, and menu items including £25 for a small rabbit pie and some broccoli. £150 for 3 people to wait hours to have an average at best meal, when there were 2 other tables of 2 in the place. Waitress didn't check for allergies, breaching legal obligation, checked once how the food was and didn't really respond when told it was mediocre and overpriced. Someone needs their head checking. The bill turned up in an empty passport case?

We where greeted and escorted into a complety empty dining room, hummmm okay we must be the first!. 20 minutes later we asked the server where is everybody she said they will be busier later. One hour later a table for x2 arrived by this point we had become so uncomfortable with the experience we had received being the only table in a completely empty restaurant with the staff staring constantly we felt like a zoo exhibition. The starter arrived and once cleared removed within seconds of the cutlery being placed and the main arrived meer minutes after. The whole experience was horrible I've had more atmosphere at a wake than at the greyhound. More tables did arrive around 1.20pm and by the time we made a hasty exit at 1.40am the resturant was a 1/3 full. Leaving me baffled as to WHY we where given such a time at the response email. The greyhound deliberately placed us in an completely empty restaurant for 80% of our meal which was £110 each + drinks and £50 inforced tip the server made it clear they did not want to be there. Who ever runs this place clearly stares as the profits and does not want returning custom. We had been regular patrons until 2023 wake-mas. Now its avoided like the plague and not recommended to anyone I come in contact with.

A Gastro-Pub tucked away in Eversley. Popped in for a Sunday Roast. Service and food was excellent.

Everything is amazing about this place. Just wish they had a cozy fireplace, and that’s me wishing.

Just had a fabulous meal here. It’s hard to come by both good food and good service these days, and the Greyhound ticked both those boxes! Food was really lovely with good portion sizes and the staff were attentive. Thank you! :)

Beautiful place for dinner, the food was so good . Only thing that lets this place down is the parking, but don't let it deter you from the yummy food and good service inside

Great food and atmosphere, they didn't have the champagne in the wine list but they offered us an alternative that wasn't as good as they said it was but nevermind, we had a good time

A traditional fish and chip shop in the heart of Twyford a village in Berkshire. My large cod and chips, drizzled in salt and vinegar was lovingly wrapped, twice. I ate the lot on a wooden bench under the bright azure light of a fresh Ruscombe afternoon sky.😋

First visit. Delicious. 4 of us, we ordered a 5th meal as we all wanted to try the venison. So glad we did, it’s delicious. Fabulous service. Will definitely be back again!
