We had a fantastic experience . The roast was delicious, and the atmosphere was absolutely lovely, warm and cosy, especially with the roaring fireplace. Despite our group of 30+ being a bit chaotic (nearly everyone forgot what they had ordered, and some forgot to mention they wanted kids potions!), the staff handled it brilliantly. They were incredibly friendly and efficient, making sure everyone was looked after. Highly recommend!

We had a bacon burger and a chicken burger, for which we ended up paying £42.00 for. That's higher end prices but definitely not higher end food. There was a large group of us, and we ordered in advance. The service was good but we, as was the rest of our party, really disappointed with the food everything was cooled until dry and tough. There were no child portions available even though these were ordered in advance. And some of the party's chips were cold. If you can't cope with larger parties, don't accept the booking

Barstaff were friendly enough but the girl stopped mid serving us to answer the phone! ... surely a real person in front of you takes precedence over a phone call? Then when we ordered our 2nd drink the bloke (tall slim shaved head) stopped and started speaking to another customer ..obviously a local... and left the other member of staff to complete the service, then he stood at the window very close to us and started talking rather loudly about his Aston Martin ...at least I assumed it was his ..rather rude I thought

A pub off the main roadside sadly without a sunset 🌇 but nice tall trees 🌳 shaded garden with plenty of tables and dog friendly although the dogs water bowl 🍶 sadly didnt have clean water in nor any dog biscuits offered or visible on the bar. No dog water offered either 😕 , so only a 1 paw star review there. The food was nice and presentable, but as the children described, it is very pricey there, perhaps because there off the beaten track makes the costs higher. A little slow to serve the service could be better. No food allergies checked while taking the order, and we had to leave our meal to ask for sauces. On the plus side, a delightful cibatta with brie n streaky bacon 🥓 with cranberry sauce was very I've nice not seen it on a menu since 1997, I had it and thoroughly enjoyed it, a true classic. The chicken 🐔 burger looked amazing. There was a plant burger 🍔 on the menu, so alternative options sold, and the classic fish n chips 🍟 looked great with old style batter and was very much enjoyed. The 2 desserts 🍨 were devine shared btwn 3 and enjoyed for a bit of mix and match the dark orange berry taut and the berry cheesecake 🧀 scored well. 4 eat out 4 non alcoholic drinks 🍸 2 lime and soda waters 1 zero guniness 1 appletise 🍎 4 meals, 2 Desserts bill just over 110 GBP As the table said near us when they were reviewing the menu, we were not up north now as they reviewed the menu prices . Is expensive down south.. I was very surprised with the several snail or slug trails on the carpet 🤔 especially being the dog friendly side as they Trail isn't that friendly to dogs and can give them lung or heart worm, so it was pointed out to one of the workers so it could be addressed during there next cleaning. There was no lighting ambience, candles, or lighting of bottles on the tables nor flowers, although several bottles with lights that didn't work were placed behind us. Im sure it would have been pretty but the dried flowers 💐 on the snug side tbh did look past their best n more brown rather than pink but I'm sure probably looked very pretty when they had they're colour There is room for some improvements in key areas. If sitting in the nicer side of the restaurant (should you not have a dog) then it does look a little nicer, barr (excuse the pun) the old frayed rug in the entrance which really has seen better days and makes the place look tatty. The snug n dog side could be presented a little nicer In my view.

Nice pub. Garden is good and usually quite busy when the sun is out. Sunday roast are generally good in fact food and beer in general is pretty good all round but cost of a pint and a packet of crisps as a quick stop off is a little on the high side.

We took a short walk cross country to this lovely pub. Nestled in a quiet corner on a country lane. It has a huge beer garden with plenty of tables and some covered seating. Inside was clean and tastefully decorated, complimenting this historical building. Two of us had the ground steak Queen's burger, a homemade super generous beef patty, which was very tasty. Although the menu was a little pricier than some others, it reflects quality, I suspect there's a great chef behind the scenes here. I think we were served by the landlord, who gave me the impression that he runs a tight ship where quality and good customer service are paramount. Staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great find and worth a visit. Dogs are very welcome.

Update a year later. Love this pub - the owner (amazing because you can tell he cares) and staff are lovely. Food is great and the atmosphere (particularly for a Sunday roast) is great. So glad we started to visit here - and some great walks around as well from the back of the church next door. Update: just as awesome. Love the staff, atmosphere and food. What an absolute gem of a pub. Very tucked away but we found via the pub walking app so started and finished a walk here. Delightful setting, very large pub garden and super nice food. Only downside was the chef, I’m guessing he was having an off day as he was getting very frustrated at us ordering food at 2pm on a Sunday and made it feel like he was doing us a favour. Somewhat embarrassing customer service skills but the rest of the staff were only too helpful once his grumpy attitude had been taken back to the kitchen and for their positivity and still recommend/return

This is my local so I have a vested interest in it doing well. Food is good pub food, staff are super friendly and atmostphere with 3 or so different areas works really well. A little out of the way so it does not get passing traffic but as a result some people go there just to get away from things. Summer is great with good sized garden.

Very nice roast, lovely ale, great service, great atmosphere. Only slight annoyance is, that there is nowhere near enough gravy, and you can only purchase more, rather than be given a small bit. That seems a little mean. Would go again.

Meeting a good friend after 40 years, The Queen's Oak seemed to be the right place to visit. Situated near the church and heart of the village, the staff were welcoming and friendly and immediately put us at ease as we were led to our table. Drinks were brought to the table and the food order was cooked and delivered in good time. Fish and Chips for my friend and I had the Ciabatta Salt Beef Sandwich with chips. All good quality and most enjoyable. The room is light and spacious and in the winter, a lovely log fire provides an added bonus. There is a beer garden with an area for children and well worth a visit when visiting Finchampstead.

Wow, a Sunday Roast that makes me smile! Roast Beef with all the trimmings, topped off with a superb sized sticky toffee pudding dessert. The venue is tucked away along a country lane opposite the local church, a beautiful venue full of history and charm. The oak trees lining the road and surroundings making it into a true countryside feel for the restaurant. The staff were superb, the service was fantastic and the food was 5 stars. Look forward to returning as this visit was for a Birthday celebration. The parking options are superb, lots of spaces right outside or if full an overflow opposite just outside the church is also an option. A drop off directly outside the pub/restaurant is available for easy access.

A hidden treasure! The building and the garden are beautiful, the food is excellent and the team are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I had a big ask to see if I could work here remotely for the week WITH my dog AND a fan due to the heatwave. They welcomed us in to the perfect corner to set up, it was easy to connect to the wifi, plug my laptop in and not only did they give my dog a nice big bowl of ice water but as they love dogs, she’s been getting cheeky pork crackling from the kitchen! Her mind is blown, she’s made friends with all the staff and she has been very happy spending time in a wonderful, positive environment. They kept the building perfectly cool when it was hot and and they were always attentive and relaxing without being overbearing. I am so glad I found the perfect place to work for the week! It's a good spot for a local beer, screens up for sport etc. They've got tables outside and a covered little yard, shame it doesn't have a bit more of a secure garden to be able to bring your dog or kids for a meal etc.
