The best restaurants in Grove Vale of White Horse South East

I wouldn’t normally write a review after just grabbing a quick coffee but I just wanted to say how fantastic the service was here at Costa in Grove! Thank you!!

Fantastic service by very friendly staff. Food is amazing and the environment very cosy and welcoming. Check out the bookshop which has recently won an award for Best Bookshop 2023!

Amazing how such a tight team turned the rooms around for each part of a wedding that I went to recently. The place is beautiful. Fantastic staff, good food and good booze selection. A wonderful place for intimate weddings.

Tried for the first time. Nice friendly service. Unfortunately the fish used (haddock) was not good quality. Unsure on what type of oil they use. Okay overall, not the best quality though.

Was in the area for a week and ate every night. Good pub food and worth looking at the nightly specials. A pint and a decent Burger for £10 was a great deal on Wednesdays.

New to the area. Had doner and chips the other night. Previously had large doner. Meat is amazing, sauce they use is another level of tasty. Always polite and no matter how busy the wait time is really good. Amazing

Omg the biscuits cheesecake was amazing had an issue and they really went above and beyond to fix this issue with no fault of their own but I highly recommend the cheesecakes yummy

Did not stay in the hotel, but great breakfast and a range of options on the menu which is served until 3pm I think most days, very reasonably priced too. We are local and will definitely return!

The staff are all very pleasant. Also I had a lunch in here a few weeks ago which was enjoyable. Not haute cuisine, just pretty standard pub fayre. Sadly I need to point out some negative things. The music is far too loud, especially for a Sunday night which leads to people shouting so that they can hear one and other. Sorry but I find most Greene King beers to be revolting. How about some guest ales? The Level Head is not bad, very refreshing but gets a bit bland after the first one. The switch from Thatchers Gold to Inches cider is disastrous in my opinion. Inches is made from imported apple concentrate and overly sweet. Not a proper English cider at all. This pub seems to be a predominantly lager pub and consequently attracts a lower standard of clientele. The mens toilets are in a poor state of repair and frequently disgusting. This place could be so much better.

Honestly the worst chicken chow mein I've ever seen. Big lumps of slimy unseasoned chicken, oily noodles and about 5 bean sprouts that looked like they weren't fit to eat this time last year. Only ordered the one thing so I'm unsure about the rest of the menu but I don't intend to find out on the basis of this experience.

if you want a kebab. Just go Mr Pizza - it's much better.

Disgustingly bland pizza, undercooked, soggy dough, no taste and stale chips. Worst takeaway I’ve had in decades. Avoid avoid avoid - threw it away
