Visiting a friend in Grove, he suggested we have lunch at this cafe run by the local churches. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice, bright, modern place, gently buzzing with about 25 or 30 customers - we only just managed to get a table as we hadn't booked ahead. We both plumped for the Cornerstone Deluxe Omelette (mushroom, onion, cheese and ham) served with a dressed side salad and homemade coleslaw (£6.95) - all absolutely delicious! I washed this down with a rather nice Deluxe Raspberry Milkshake (£2.30) while my companion chose a small Americano (£1.85). Good-quality fare at reasonable prices. At the back of the cafe is a small shop selling Fairtrade groceries and gifts.

In a small stopping area is this coffee shop run by the local churches. The English breakfast is a great option but there are also home made soups and a daily special. The home made cakes are also a treat to have with your afternoon tea. The atmosphere is welcoming and calm. Families with children, the elderly and people with disabilities are all equally welcome.

Background: Tucked away in the heart of Grove since 1995, Cornerstone is a café, book shop and venue run by four churches working together. Staffed by both professionals and volunteers they have a reputation for quality food and special ambience. My bit..... I do not attend a church or follow a religion and so on my first visit I was unsure what to expect (with it being a church run Café) but to my delight they welcome EVERYONE. Every member of staff is very friendly. The space is cosy but has plenty of room to maneuver buggies and wheelchairs. The food is all freshly cooked and prepared, the food is simple yet delicious. I have never been disappointed. The chefs are consistently brilliant. The menu consists of sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes, soups, omelettes, salads, breakfasts including the option of a vegetarian breakfast, kids menu and lots lots more, defiantly plenty of choice. A favourite is the open sandwiches or the cheese and apple toastie. If you just what to pop in for a hot drink and a sweet nibble they have plenty of homemade cakes and slices. You have the option of booking a table, would recommend if you have a party larger than 4. The charm of this place is it's atmoshere, awesome homecooked food and the friendly welcoming staff. Always good to see Mark with his beaming smile ☺ I meet and eat at cornerstones regularly. I would recommend cornerstones to friends, families, solos or couples

Wow what can I say- such a wonderful weekend. A real treat to be able to spend the weekend in such a beautiful part of the world with a fantastic host. Amazing food- particularly the porridge at breakfast and they even stock lactose free milk! The apples from the tree in the garden were delicious. The host Kathryn made me feel right at home, providing me with slippers and a hot water bottle. What more could you want?! I thoroughly enjoyed the walks nearby and the amazing train links from the local station really do make life easier. I can’t wait to stay again. It’s the gateway to the Cotswolds!

Lovely country pub for an evening drink. Cosy seating, gorgeous wood burning stove and very friendly staff. And the resident dog is a cutie!

A really very high quality experience. The owners have ensured that everything needed is available, and that there is plenty of space for different groups to use different rooms. All rooms are ensuite, and extra loos on ground and first floor. After the restoration, the place has been wonderfully furnished. Breakfasts were provided and were lovely.

Took my son and his girlfriend here for dinner as part of a weekend stopover. I found the whole experience really good. Staff were attentive and pleasant, food was better than expected. The accompanying wines were also reasonably priced. For hotel dining, this is above the norm
