I recently visited Angel Of Mercia with friends to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. The problems started very soon after our arrival. We were in the restaurant for 10 minutes and hadn’t even been offered a menu, we had to request them ourselves. At which point someone came over with them and highlighted that the sharers were unavailable. Now if you’ve reviewed the menu you will know there are only about 4 mains and then the 2 sharers so that’s a fairly significant thing not to have available on a Friday night. A member of the bar team then came over to take our drinks order and then informed us that they had no beer?! How can a restaurant have no beer on a Friday night, we were puzzled by this. The barman said that there had been a party the night before who had drunk it all. Now if you know the location of this restaurant you’ll see it’s in close proximity (walking distance) to at least 2 supermarkets. The team had every opportunity knowing close of business Thursday that they had no beer to do something about it, there is simply no excuse. Our drinks arrived in dribs and drabs and as time ticked on it became apparent that they didn’t care for our business. We waited 40 mins and didn’t get asked what we would like to order, not even a starter/small plates? They didn’t ask if we wanted another drink, literally nothing. So after 45 mins we asked for the bill which I of course had the service removed from because it was appalling and we took our custom elsewhere. As all of us exited the restaurant, not a peep from the Angel of Mercia team, not an apology or a thank you for even spending money on drinks there. I would not recommend here at all!

This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. They got 2 stars because of the company i was with and the ambience or it would have been -1. The service was appalling—we waited far too long, struggling to get the waitress’s attention, and nearly had to get up just to place our order. The starters were terrible, reminiscent of something straight from a supermarket freezer. The fried tofu was dry, tasteless, and served without any sauce—we had to ask for it separately. When the mains arrived, things didn’t get any better. The chili used was cheap and bitter, clearly just low-quality powders. The jungle curry was extremely spicy, which I usually enjoy, but it had an overwhelming bitterness that made it unpleasant—more like something from a cheap commercial food stall than a proper restaurant. The noodles were average at best. This is the first negative review I’ve ever written, but I honestly don’t understand where all the positive reviews come from. Perhaps from people who have never tried authentic Thai food? Either way, it was a complete disappointment. Avoid.

A mixture of Britian and South African. As a South African traveling around the UK, it was kind of ironic that I stumbled into this small little restaurant. It did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing or should I say lekker. I had a cup of English breakfast tea and the vegan club sandwich. The artwork in the front of the restaurant is absolutely stunning and is a definite reminder of home. The restaurant was very busy. They have an all day breakfast every Saturday and Sunday. I recommend booking in advance.

Really lovely venue. We sat in the window and the server was very nice. We were welcomed by a lovely young man who showed us to our seats. There was lots of choice on the menu. However I opted for three separate items to make a meal as I have some food intolerances from a current health issue and I didn’t want any bread either. The smoked salmon was delicious and the eggs were perfect and it was lovely to see sliced avocado instead of mashed as this is my preference

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. The croissants are nice but not perfect, they need a little more bite. We gave them 6/10. The coffee was a bit disappointing, only 5/10. Great to see Monmouth beans used, but to be completely honest, the finished product is a level below independent coffee shops in London. The ratio of milk to coffee and water to coffee were off in our flat white and black americano, respectively. Still, nice place and I hope if they read this review they can take the comments constructively, because Beaconsfield needs a good independent coffee shop and we're counting on you!

Shame on you. Waited in restaurant for a take away and realised we'd been overcharged on 2 main courses. Quietly tried to sort it out and they gave us money back but then another member of staff came over and challenged us and whipped the bill from us. We've been going there 10+ years and the customer service is now simply disgusting. Rip Off Merchants.

We were ‘gifted’ a tasting menu Wowcher for Christmas. First of all the food was average, the ‘tasting’ menu was extremely limited. 70% of items required a supplement of £5-£14 pounds which basically forces you to spend additional money or have an Onion Bhaji for main course. Even the Naan was poor quality - £8.95. The main courses were very rich and overly creamy. Because we went on a Friday evening it was a supplement of £12 per person to be in a fairly empty restaurant. Service was attentive but v focused on upselling more chargeable items. There is better quality Indian food and definitely better value

We've been here many times over the years. Feel bad writing this review. New Online ordering system, less user friendly than the past. Large Haddock - weird today. 2-3 months ago fabulous... Today. Wet, mushy texture in places, very "fishy" not like normal haddock at all. Pricing in store £0.20 less than online! Salt and pepper Squid . Without being phoned - was substituted for Scampi which is cheaper... Where is the refund? £0,55 cheaper... Southern fried chicken - food good - but the free Sauces (Dips) ordered with the Chicken - completely missing tonight when we unwrapped at home. A real shame. I'd been looking forward to it.
