Friendly and authentic Thai restaurant. I have been only twice but a good experience both times. Not very expensive either which is a plus for Beaconsfield.

Got to be the best Thai in Bucks at least!! From entry to exit, the staff, food, atmosphere, welcome and overall value for money are all excellent.

This isn't really a review about the food as such....But for anyone, this is a work of warning. I tried to call constantly to book a table and thinking that they are so busy and so popular that they did not answer....And because the web-site and reviews were so favourable that I turned up anyway after a 30 minute drive to find the restaurant closed for refurbishment...So please good owners of Thai Sense....why don't you put a banner on your web-site saying Closed For Refurbishment....and this would save me traipsing half way across of Buckinghamshire to disappoint my self....

Lovely food, always cooked fresh and well presented. Lots of choices. Staff very friendly and service just right. Atmosphere just right. Good for couples and friends.

Great food and good / friendly service

There's nothing really 'good' about this restaurant but, having said that, there's nothing really 'bad' either. I love Thai food but this was just very ordinary. We were there on a busy Saturday night from out of town and found our way to this restaurant. The food was ok, you can survive on it, and that was about it. A bland restaurant experience. There's enough Thai restaurants in the area, I'd try another one next time I find myself in Beaconsfield

The wonderful reception when we arrived was warm and sincere,the staff were just wonderful.I was unsure about some things on the menu,but staff were happy to explain.The food was exceptional,it was definitely worth the drive down from york!! I really can’t wait to return,I only wish it was closer to us.

Visited with my wife on a mid-week evening in October. Very friendly welcome and excellent service throughout. The food is very good, freshly prepared and generous portions. They have recently added new "Street Food" and "Dim Sum" sections to the menu which are well worth a try, the prawn and scallop dim sum was amazing. The Gai Yang main course was fantastic but the curries and stir fries also looked great. A hidden gem - independent and family run, it great.

Went with a group of 6. Heard good reviews so thought we could try it out. Reserved a table very short notice and on arrival it was not over crowded this may be because it is not in the main beaconsfield village. Food came out and could not believe how hot it was which is a good thing. Usually food coming from a kitchen does not always stay piping hot and you can eat straight away. We had to wait for this to cool down. The flavours in food was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the green Thai curry. Having been Thailand quite a few times I can be quite sceptical of trying thai food in a non Thai country. But this restaurant really lived up to the country food. Flavours were great. Staff were happy. Would definatley recommend and will be going back for sure.

We regularly visit this restaurant, you are always greeted with a warm welcome. We love the food and it is always well presented. We especially like the Thai Fish Cakes, Salt and Pepper Squid and Gai Yang. Well worth a visit if you want a genuine and authentic Thai Restaurant.

We were a party of 6 celebrating a birthday. One of the group has various allergies and the waiter took a lot of trouble to check all ingredients and to suggest suitable dishes. We all really enjoyed the food, generous portions and very tasty.

I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough, the food is fantastic, authentic Thai and an extensive menu. The service is superb and it is great value. Drinks are very reasonably priced. When there are so many restaurant chains across the country it is important we support independent restaurants who offer great food and value.

I love the fragrance of Thai food which I thoroughly enjoyed on our visit to Thailand but found some of my favourite dishes at Thai Sense overly sweet. Service was pleasant and friendly. I was pleased to see really hot plates being placed but it was a useless gesture as they had lost their heat by the time the food arrived. I wasn not happy that they did not itemise the bill, just presented a total sum to pay. I can see no valid reason for this.

The food was absolutely delicious and beautiful too. Very friendly staff and peaceful, warm, welcoming environment. Will definitely visit again.

Tables too close together no privacy - when given menu these were sticky needed a wipe clean.

Went with our two boys and girlfriends, the service was excellent as was the food. The fish and prwan dishes were particularly tasty.

This place has certainly got the WOW factor! We went here to celebrate my mum's birthday and we were blown away by their ambiance. My friends have gone to Try Thai three times now and they rightly recommended this place to us. Service is excellent and the dim lighting makes for a nice atmosphere. Having been to Thailand many times, I can confidently say the dishes were close to the real deal. The Thai Holy Basil dishes are delicious and (perhaps too) fiery. The egg-fried rice (and its smell!) really did remind me of my times in Bangkok. If you want a nice evening out then this is the place to go!

Had a takeaway for 6 adults. Ordered what at any other restaurant would have been too much food in hope of having some the next day. Portions were child sized. Prices were giant sized. Don’t bother. Food was average so disappointing. So expensive. So mediocre. What a shame. If it cost less would mind less. Better value elsewhere.

I really do love this restaurant. The atmosphere is great and the staff are some of the best I’ve ever known. The location is great with a car park across the street aswell! The food is always beautifully presented and tastes great. Love it here!

Very nice stag and good food. We always like eating here.

We’ve eaten in and taken away in a number of occasions and I’m sorry to say have always regretted it. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and the service is fine but the food lets it down. Poor quality meat and tubs of sloppy sauce with no vegetables. It doesn’t taste nice. I think we’ve finally learnt our lesson. It may be simply a matter of taste as clearly a lot of people like it but it’s just not for us.

Great Thai restaurant fabulous service and more to the point outstanding food. Just for a moment I thought I was back In Thailand.

On the last couple of visits I've found the food very salty/sugary and less 'fresh' tasting in terms of herbs and spice. I do cook quite a bit of Thai food myself and have done for 20 years so think I can tell the real thing fairly well.

Ate the lunchtime 2 course set meal with a friend. We both felt the meat was poor quality and the dishes in general mediocre. The staff were very pleasant but the food let them down.

Nice food venue is a little crowded with a large group though.

Great food and service. Went there late on a Sunday evening , they served with a smile although it was near closing time. Dishes were very tasty and spiced to the right measure ie medium spiced is medium spiced not scortching hot. I had the King Prawns in lemongrass sauce and my husband the King prawns stire fry and a side dish of broccoli in oyster sauce. All of it was delicious. It's a bit on the pricey side. £40 for the 3 dishes (no rice or noodles) + 1 desert.

This is a delightful place to have lunch, and very reasonably priced (two courses for ten pounds per person). The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive and if you go at lunchtime you shouldn't need to book. The red curry turned out to be quite mild, the green curry was medium (the menu stated that they were both medium-hot), but the food was well prepared and delicious. I didn't try the Pad Thai but was told it was good, and our toddler devoured the spring rolls we got as a starter, as well as bits from each of our meals. We've eaten here several times now and it's pretty consistent. They also cater well for vegetarians; I had the green curry and could have chosen meat with it, but opted for vegetarian and it was good. They will also add tofu to the vegetarian option, if you ask. Haven't tried dinner here yet, but it's definitely worth visiting for lunch, if you like Thai food.

I have taken my now 93 YO Mother here each time I visit, which is broadly annually. We remember it being the Royal Elephant, Yanang and now Thai Sense. We go at lunch time and we have never needed to book. Service has always been attentive and pricing fair. This time the food seemed a little less flavoursome than it had been in the past, but we still enjoyed a pleasant meal. Our starters (3) were good, the Pad Thai was nice, the red beef curry seemed a little bland. (I am not commenting on how hot it was, but the flavour set.)

This place has changed since our last visit so didn't know what to expect. A warm welcome and the obligatory Singh's beer left us looking forward to the food. I ordered tempura prawn sand my son went for the squid. What arrived was breaded prawn and a disappointingly small portion of squid. Under command from my son I ate the prawns which I suspected may have come out of a packet. They were dry and tasteless . The squid was well cooked but a meagre offering. My resolve to follow my son's orders to say nothing folded when the waiter asked if I had enjoyed my starter. So I pointed out that I had ordered tempura prawns and had I known I was going to be served breaded prawn I would have ordered something else. I was told that they were Thai style prawns so I pointed out that the menu stated tempura prawns.

As soon as you walk in, the hosts are incredibly helpful. The restaurant is always busy, which speaks for itself. Delicious food, with a very good vegetarian selection. If only we lived closer and could visit even more regularly....!

We came here a year ago and were so happy with what we found (see review) that being in England and the neighbourhood again, this was an abvious choice for lunch. We found the same traditional high quality food, service and cleanliness from this (I guess) family run authentic thai restaurant as we enjoyed a year ago. They are to be recommended for maintaining their high standards. Can easily recommend and will try to return sooner next time.

I love Thai food so it's great to have a consistent Thai restaurant in the area. Been here several times since it changed owners 6 or so months ago and never had a bad meal. Decently priced.

We've visited here 5 times over the last year and on each occasion have found the staff welcoming and very pleasant, thankfully not over attentive during the meal - they leave you to eat the superb fare but are always available for a question or two if required.

It's still nice here, the food is cooked well, and served on time. The drink selection is good, and I like the atmosphere. I wouldn't expect complete authentic Thai food, more of an Asian fusion. Can get busy, and organisation can suffer a bit. But not bad.

We used to go to the Thai in Great Missenden but this is far superior. The food and service is excellent every time and would highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife only prefers Indian food, but I convinced her to try Thai food and after eating it, she did like it a lot. she was looking forward to eating Thai food elsewhere in Europe during our vacation.

Great service, delicious food and authentic ingredients used. A range of choice from curries to stir -fries. Good range of starters too. Vegetarian options available as well. Adequate wine range. Lovely ambiance, great for socialising or for couples. Enough parking around.

Came here for a birthday meal. We booked a reservation and were happily seated. The restaurant was lively and buzzing, an enjoyable atmosphere where everyone can have their own conversations. It may be too loud for some as there was a group of people yelling rather than talking but it was a Saturday night. The food was good but nothing spectacular...felt generic and uneventful. We ordered duck spring roll and prawn tempura for starters....was ok. Nuea pad khing (beef) and chicken green curry with egg fried rice and steamed veg (pad krao proaw). The rice was nice and a bottle of the first red for £20...not worth it in taste or money. Not sure if we would revisit as was slightly disappointed especially given the previous reviews.

We ate here on good Friday as a change to our normal Thai. The food was amazing. The mixed starters was very good and the prawn toast, some of the best I have ever had. For a main I had the duck in birds best which was lovely.

Lots of good recommendations for this place from locals. It was surprisingly busy even early on a Friday evening. However service was good and very friendly. The mixed starter is a great option for al the faves (spring rolls, prawn toast, BBQ ribs etc). Overall the food was decent, though nothing amazing. Whilst I thought it had a good buzz, I could imagine some people, especially of a weekend evening, finding it a bit noisy.

Popped in without a reservation and despite appearing empty it filled up very quickly with pre-booked customers, a lesson for next time. Staff were very friendly, food was good, all in all a very pleasant evening. Definitely worth a visit if you like Thai, or even if you want to try it for the first time.

Came here for a mid week dinner with friends. Great choice of dishes and found it difficult to pick one. Went for the lamb chops and it was delicious! Great food and great value for money!

The food is very good, with a fairly wide choice of options. I particularly enjoyed the soup. The service was efficient and friendly. Good atmosphere and very busy early Saturday evening. A far better option than venturing into Beaconsfield old town, and far easier to park as well!

Since re opening last year, we have been a number of times both lunch and evenings. On the whole food is good and decent value for money (compared to most places in Beaconsfield). Staff are refreshingly welcoming and typically attentive. Always happy to help. Great atmosphere at weekend evenings with a lovely buzz from diners. Lunchtimes have good set price bargains. These used to be really good but seem to have reduced in size and taste recently... Will try again to see if back to original great value and super speedy lunch service like last year. Hope so, as so much better than many other lunch options. We will keep going as one of our best local eateries: good authentic unpretentious food and atmosphere. Hope you do too.

We had a lovely meal and the staff were very friendly. We hadn't booked and it was Saturday night. Lucky we were there at 7.15pm and they did find us a table until 8.30pm, which we took. We had a starter for two, then I had the red Prawn Curry with 6 enormous butterflied prawns and egg fried rice and Chris had the Green Curry with Pineapple rice.

Lovely restaurant nicely decorated, easy parking outside and in nearby car park and menu A from the set, delicious when you don't want to mull over ordering and want to catch up over a nice bite! Menu A is a lovely selection of Thai starters, green chicken curry, sweet n sour prawns yum, chicken cashews and rice. Perfect and great service.

Nice friendly atmosphere good food and drinks

We were a table of 15 in the end but had only booked 13. They were happy to accommodate us. Sharer starter were good , the rest of the party liked their food but I had prawn pad Thai and there was a funny taste. I am not sure why and pad Thai is my favourite dish. Was very busy and quite load.

Last came here about 3 months ago with the same group of friends, and it was a lovely meal. However, despite the negative reviews, we decided to head back. On arrival we had to stand wait with others until the previous table had finished. We sat down and it took a while for service to commence. It was ok, but as I think they have got busy, they have gone a bit mass produced and maybe started to cut a few corners. Still nice, but not as good as last time. Shame as it was a lovely meal before. Might get refurbished and a new name in 2017 though!

Really excellent thai restaurant - staff are very friendly, the decor is lovely, and we've had several really good meals here. The old thai (Yanang?!) started well and went rapidly downhill, but Thai Sense has been consistentyly great each time we've visited or had a takeaway. Portions are generous, and pricing about right for what you get. Could maybe extend the wine list a little, but this place is great - a must visit if you're in the area

This is an authentic Thai restaurant at a fraction of the normal price. The staff and chef are all Thai which means the food is as close to Thai as its possible to get. A lot of the Thai restaurants I have been to are so anglicized as to be unrecognizable from the actual dish... not here!

Visited today for my lunch and ordered a Pad Thai which cost £6.95! Not happy with the food was very eggy and chicken had no flavour. Wouldn't be visiting again.

I have been to Thai Sense since it opened three times. The previous two occasions over 6 months ago were very good.

Table for 4 pre-booked hours beforehand on a Saturday evening. We expected it to be packed, but there were lots of empty tables but even so we had to wait for one to be cleaned. We were seated but then completely ignored. We had to ask for menus (which were dirty) and then my husband had to go to the bar to ask someone to come and take a drinks order after waiting half an hour! We ordered our meals at the same time but despite there being 4/5 waiting staff, the service for both drink delivery and starters was painfully slow. I ordered the Thai fish cakes and I have never seen anything like it. They didn't seem to contain any fish and were just a rubbery deep fried, tasteless glob. A couple of us had Pad Thai and it was almost as if they left the main ingredient out because it was completely tasteless. We pinched some sauce off the other two meals to make it taste of something because it was really that bad. We even had to ask for the peanuts to sprinkle on the top. This has got to be the worse Thai meal we have ever had and the service was slow, unfriendly and no-one even bothered to check if our meals were ok and we struggled to even find someone to get the bill from. I would never eat there again and would suggest any other local Thai ahead of this one.

Was a great dinner with my wife last visit. I had a dusty ocean which is mix seafood stir-fried with some kind of thai herbs sauce, it was beautiful. Excellent service and perfect atmosphere.

This was a thai previously but this has gone up a few notches, the interior is smart and the food was very pleasing as was the service. We went mid week (we hear its very popular weekends) it was still quite busy. There are 3 set menus we went for the A option without soup which was really good choice for 22.95. Do go try.

Came here with family and brilliant food and brilliant staff I will defiantly return and bring more people!

Saturday night, we were a table of 7 and the service was appalling. we had to order prawn crackers several times before they eventually came. The staff were pretty rude, unapologetic and didn't seem to care. They had clearly set v low standards for themselves but I guess the bar must be pretty low in Beaconsfield. The first of all brought me a red prawn curry but never apologise for getting the order wrong. And then to top it all they produced in minutes a chicken red curry (that I had ordered) but it was insipid, not spicy and sickly sweet. Nor did it contain aubergine as described in the menu. I did not complain there and then as it was with friends and we had not seen each other for a long time and it would have destroyed the atmosphere, but I for one will never return.

Possibly the best Thai restaurant in the area. Consistently excellent tasty food. Had a take out last weekend and it was fully booked. If you like your food spicy (eg Green Thai Curry) then ask when ordering.

So came here on the basis of the reviews and had been here before in one of its other forms. Food was amazing. Great quality and value and was perfect, cant fault it. Service was great as well. However, the coffees at the end were questionable, with incorrect drinks orders and coffees with alcohol having no alcohol when being reheated as they arrived cold. Although the staff were quick to deal with this issue, didn't end up with what we ordered so knocking a star off for that. My spirit was watered down with way too much ice. But great food, considering this is a restaurant!!

Surprisingly delicious meal and super comfy chairs! I was worried the food wouldn't be that great based on a previous take away experience but the duck panang was particularly good and had a rich creamy and spicy sauce in addition to a generous portion of tender duck, the Thai green chicken curry was great, just how you would want it to taste, fresh wok fried noodles with vegetables and super sticky rice. Lovely mixed starter selection too, the ribs and chicken satay in particular were really good, can't wait to go back! So happy to have a good local Thai that's not ridiculously expensive or "modern" like the Crazy Bear!

A group of 8 of us arrived at 8pm for a pre-booked meal on Saturday night. It was very busy and it took a while for us to get drinks but it took an hour to get our starters which were very nice. The warm plates were then put out at about 9.30 however, they were stone cold by the time the food started coming out at 10.15 after we had complained about the time it was taking. Unfortunately, for my fellow diners, not all of the food came out. They seemed to have a huge problem with providing the rice which is incredible given that must be the most basic component of their meals. Most people had their main meal but no rice!

Went for our friends 40th birthday dinner, starters and mains were lovely. Didn't realise the time and once we had finished went to order or dessert to only be told it was 11pm and the kitchen has closed. No one had pre told us it was almost closing time. Very disappointing as was looking forward to our dessert.

Good food but the staff is slow in understanding when placing order for the food. They seem to have a hard time understanding even if order is placed by the numbers given against each dish. Table sometimes does not the correct setting and a table for 4 always has only two place settings and 2 napkins even after they give you a table for 4.

Friday night meal with the family . Nice atmosphere in the restaurant - starters were good , kids enjoyed satay chicken and Mrs really liked the creamy coconut chicken soup. Hot spicy flat noodle dish was highlight for me . Kids finished everything in their plates which is always a good sign . Staff were extremely welcoming & friendly. Will be back

Been here 5 times since it reopened and every time was excellent. Great fresh food full of flavour and the starters are excellent. Mains are great too. Service is good. Atmosphere is great. Could do with a new sign outside though to attract more customers to this great restaurant.

Not in one of the nicest streets of Beaconsfield, but conveniently just off the main drag, with on stret parking and car par park just opposite. Once inside, you could be in Thailand. The present owners have taken over a few months ago and money was spent on the premises. The chairs are extra comfortable, the cutlery is sourced from Thailand, the floor is new, Thai ornaments and soothing Thai music. The food is excellent and very nicely and imaginatively presented. When leaving we were said farewell by the owner and our waitress, the Thai way. Simply charming. We will return.

Been here couple of times as it's in our door step, always great food and lovely hospitality and service. Will be returning soon.

After several owners Thai Sense has finally found a winning formula for a great neighbourhood Thai restaurant

This restaurant is a bit "out of the way", but please make the effort to seek it out. The food is truly exceptional and the staff as so friendly and helpful. I'd give Thai Sense 6 stars if I could!!!

Came on a Saturday night and it was very busy - the restaurant had a really nice buzz. Really don't think the outside represents the restaurant well, it's much nicer inside than it looks from the outside!
