Bacchus in South Bucks

I have had the pleasure of dining and drinking at Bacchus several times, and every visit has been fantastic. Patrik, who is essentially the face of the restaurant, is not only a great host but is a brilliant chef where his talent and passion shines through in every dish he creates. The entire team at Bacchus is equally fantastic - friendly and dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience. On my most recent visit, Bacchus faced an unexpected power failure in the kitchen on a busy Saturday night. Despite the circumstances, the team went to great lengths to ensure that everyone still enjoyed their meal/night. The food they crafted under pressure was remarkable, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction. It's truly impressive how they turned a challenging situation into yet another memorable experience. Bacchus is my favorite restaurant in town, and I recommend it to anyone seeking great Italian food and excellent service. Also a great spot if you are after great wine or cocktails. Started with just a drink and could not leave without a whole meal. Fantastic service, Patrick and Marta are fantastic - they gave us the best recommendations and got us a space for dinner. Delicious Tagliatelle, every bite had a meat in it. The sidra was also great

It was an unplanned stop here for lunch on our driving holiday and my family of 4 were immensely happy we chose Bacchus. We arrived as the restaurant was opening but were made very welcome. We had just two choices form the menu: 2 of us chose the Tagliatelle (authentic Bolognese ragu`& parmesan) and the other 2 had the Linguine (with squid, mussels, prawns, cherry tomatoes, chilli, garlic & white wine sauce). Each dish was superbly presented and tasted glorious. I forget the name of the person who served us but he was funny, charming and oh so friendly. Bacchus is highly recommended and if ever I found myself in these parts again, I would surely drop by for a meal.

Amazing food, the calamari especially was cooked to perfection. The fish stew is incredible.

Food was mediocre over cooked pasta food came out late than the rest of order and chef was rude

Fantastic. Perfetto. Highly, highly recommend Bacchus to everyone. Patrik is absolutely amazing (The Best Egg) he always goes above and beyond with everything, and I’m yet to find something that man can’t perfect. The food is incredible; I travel across Italy and had better dishes in Bacchus, truly sensational. I can’t recommend this place enough. Go and enjoy.

Absolute superb food & incredibly lovely staff

We received such good service from Patrik and his team! Amazing food that completely blew our minds. The chef and patrik created the most amazing dishes for a family bottomless brunch and had such tasty drinks and cocktails! Would definitely recommend going!

This place is just perfect, amazing wine, brilliant Italian home cooked food and Patrick is what makes this place so special, I got to Italy several times a year and finding good Italian food in the U.K. is normally hard, this place nails it, we love his passion for food and drink, today we did a family bottomless brunch and it was nothing short of perfect, 10 of us all agreed!, well done and thank you.

I stayed in the accommodation above the restaurant. Marta went out of her way to help me in gaining access to the accom as my tech skills are not good. Very pleasant and cheerful, I would highly recommend Bacchus.

Great authentic little Italian restaurant run by Italian friends. Reasonably priced, delicious locally sourced food. Marta and Patrik were great hosts.

Hidden little gem of beaconsfield. Authentic itallian hearty food with great service. Was allowed to also try some authentic itallian beers and cider (not just peroni) that had great tastes to complement the food. Would recommend to everyone to try.

Bacchus is a hidden gem in Beaconsfield. The food is beautiful and has a fabulous wine list - what more could you want. I have been with friends and then with family(incl young children), each time we have had a wonderful experience dining.

Truly excellent food, photos of what we tried are attached. Tasted so fresh and so good. The Parmigiana was so tasty we ordered another one. They also have very good kids options. The staff are super welcoming, kind and helpful. Lovely interior decor and atmosphere. 100% recommended.

Tried a new drink recommended to me by Patrick. It was an Italian gin paired with a grapefruit tonic. Can honestly say I've never had a more refreshing drink in my life. Have definitely found my drink for the summer

We had a lovely evening out at Bacchus. Fabulous food and wine.The chef was really accommodating when it came to making a minor alteration to one of the dishes .Excellent table service from Jessica. The best in town this place is a hidden gem. It is a taste of Italy with exquisite food. Tim’s and time the most delicious food is served in a beautiful setting. The staff are amazing too.

Lovely authentic Italian food served by Patrik who is not only a great chef but also a very welcoming and friendly person. Grace is amazing front of house, greeting with a smile and lovely to chat to. Recommended!

Great find. First started coming here for a one off after meeting mid week drink. That has now progressed into a weekly vist. Bar snacks are incredibly priced for what you get. My personal favourites are the brie and sicilian arancini. The restaurant menu has only just been changed with great tweaks done to it. The veal is to DIE for. Hand on heart one of the best dishes I've had in very long time from any restaurant. Bar staff are curtuous and patient at all times. Currently my number 1 spot for a few drinks and a bit to eat. Well done all!

Went with my wife for a lunchtime meet with a friend, all three of us had different pasta dishes as a main course. Food arrived hot and well presented. Portion size good. We all agreed these were high quality dishes regarding taste and overall quality. Sweet was the chocolate mousse with cherries and vanilla ice cream. Again we agreed again that this was a very good sweet, service was provided by a friendly and efficient lady member of staff. A very pleasant lunchtime in a well decorated and maintained restaurant.

Great food and wine. It is a wine bar at the front and on the night we were there it was extremely busy and very very noisy Also groups of people standing around the front door smoking.

We went on an evening when they did a set menu including wine. The wines were paired beautifully especially with the clams and Italian sausage. We also had octopus and finished with a fabulous cheesecake. Excellent food. Would definitely recommend.

This review is going to be all about the food. My partner Jo had previously eaten at Bacchus and told me that I would love the food and I’m not going to lie it was fantastic. Many times I’ve eaten out at so called Italian restaurants and been left really disappointed. From start to finish the food was absolutely delicious, the Arancini was super tasty , my partner and both had it as a starter. I had the Carbonara and Jo the Beef Ragu both were beautifully cooked. Just as a side note the bread and olives were delicious as well. Patrik the chef is an Italian cooking proper Italian food and before I forget the two young ladies serving and running the bar were superb as well. Great night and fantastic food, if anyone is looking for real Italian food in Beaconsfield you must must visit Bacchus. Keep it local!!!! Rino & Jo Beaconsfield.

Really excellent food, probably the best classic Italian cuisine and a wide selection of Italian wines. Chaf Patrick knows his stuff!

Casual Italian with friendly service. Halibut was buttery the chickpea casserole was a bit on the watery side. Was skeptical of the tiramisu appearance but it tasted great.

We tried Bacchus for the first time, and were were really impressed. The food arrived lovely and hot. The rice balls were georgous. The Arabiatta was so tasty, and fresh. The word is clearly getting around, as the restaurant was full, with an upmarket clientele. Can’t wait to try more dishes.!

First, lovely decor and good atmosphere. However, the service was very slow and inattentive and we waited ages to even place a drinks order. By then we were eager to order the food too, but had to wait for the drinks first! Then and only then did they tell us what was off. Luckily that didn’t affect our choices. Then the food took another age to arrive and when it did, it was decidedly average. For the price point, we expected much better.

Sorry to say that our experience yesterday afternoon 18/12/22 was far from enjoyable, cold, no atmosphere and no warm welcome, can’t say much about the food either! So no recommendation from me!

Just came home from dinner, 3 of us; full house of diners by the time we left (arrived early), lively. We ordered the calamari and the mussels and clams appetizers. both light and tasty. Next we had ox cheek, fell off the bone tender; filletto di maiale which was tasty with lovely accompaniment; and finally the fried halibut that was equally tasty, a bit spicy for me but manageable. Had a glass of Cava and Picpoul de Pinet, both yummy. We all enjoyed the meal very much; unfortunately no time for dessert as our kids across the street were done with their dinner and not very happy! lol Next time they can come with us. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Had our company Xmas bash at Bacchus last night. Great vibe, food outstanding and a fantastic wine list. Staff friendly and attentive. Second time I’ve been and I know who I came back.

Had a wonderful meal last night at the newly opened Bacchus restaurant. The arancini were delicious as was the seafood linguine. We will definitely be back.

Love this place, and it's wine menu. Delicious arancini, and perfectly cooked pork, with nicely balanced flavours. Perfect to accompany the great choice of organic and natural wines. Wish we'd had time to stay for dessert. An excuse to return.

Service was great! Food was fantastic! Soup of the day was exceptional. The new chef clearly knows Italian food. And very reasonable. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. We will be back 😊

Fantastic food - each course a delight

Great for a quiet drink when everywhere else is busy and noisy.

Run by a gorgeous manageress, a little quiet but most of Beaconsfield was too.

Always great service, food is superb, fresh and tasty. Love the seafood sharing plate, menu gives great options, a bit for everyone.

The calamari here is absolutely UNREAL!! The interior is beautiful and the vibes are lovely, we had tapas and it was easily the best tapas I’ve ever had. The staff were lovely and the service was exceptional, the chef is absolutely incredible and we’re looking forward to coming again. :)

We booked for lunch and the one waitress on duty was polite and attentive but overwhelmed and needed help as she was also serving at the bar. The food took more than one hour and the tart was very burnt and had to be sent back. Really poor given the prices. They agreed to a discount off the bill but it should never have come to that.

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch with our kids, when it comes to a Sunday roast the Beacon knows exactly what it's doing 👍 The wine list is also has some really interesting options, also very reasonably priced.

The most welcoming place to feed your soul with good food and company! The chef knows his textures and flavours, and I felt I was on holiday somewhere exotic! Very age friendly atmosphere, and the staff are Amazing! I can't wait to go again! 😊

I did not visit the bistro but I was sleeping in the studios above. They did not care about the neighbours at all. They had a party shouting and loud singing until well past midnight.

Sunday lunch at the Beacon Bistro.. Each time I have eaten here I have never been disappointed. Today I really fancied a mixed Sunday roast and once again, spot on. Great environment, friendly service, good menu choices. The chef is so very flexible and helpful if you want a twist to your meal or something that isn’t on the menu. That’s when you know the ingredients are fresh and the chef is naturally great at when he does.

Had a reservation ( first time out post lockdown), which was confirmed by phone. Unfortunately upon arrival, there was no table available, other than an inprovised one on the sidewalk (The restaurant has a garden). Very diaappointing. Will not return.

We were really looking forward to the first time going out for a dinner in more than half a year after the long and exhausting lockdown. I booked a table for a dinner with Opentable three weeks in advance. Then 10 days in advance I gave the restaurant a call to make sure they indeed planned to reopen and had our reservation recorded. They assured me on the phone that they had my reservation and everything was fine. I double checked again on the day of our visit. When we arrived we were told that the only table they could offer us was a drinks table squeezed into a car parking lot at the entrance at the distance from other tables which definitely didn’t look Covid compliant. They told us that our reservation did not specify that it should be in a dining area, and that all tables in the dining area were booked. At no point in my phone conversations with the restaurant did they mention that they had different seating types or asked me which type of table we needed. It was quite obvious that our booking via Opentable was for a dinner. We refused to take that inadequate table offer and they later cancelled my Opentable reservation preventing me from leaving a review there. What a disgusting way to treat customers looking forward to a first dinner out after such a long break.

Great steak and frites. Service was also great.....very attentive and very friendly- think her name is Sammy (wearing glasses)!

The seafood linguine was great, as was the goat cheese salad, will be back to try more from their menu... (I reserve 5 stars for something that simply cannot be beaten but if I could I’d rate this meal 4 & 1/2)

Went here just after the main lockdown. They have a bar which opens out to the street. Got a bottle of UK wine made locally and spent a pleasant evening drinking it. Went again this weekend for a drink and starter. Had the goats cheese and beetroot ... Well done and balanced. Will go there again. Staff very good. Very organised in the Covid environment.

The Beacon is something of a hidden gem. In my opinion, it is the best restaurant in the Gerrards Cross/Beaconsfield area. The chef, Lord Tobias, is very skilful and innovative, and he is able to tailor dishes from the menu to suit individual tastes. The food is Michelin quality and is exceptionally good value. Coupled with this, the wine list is diverse and very reasonably priced. Overall, the friendly and welcoming ambience makes for a very special evening out. Highly recommended.

Initially upon seeing the menu, I felt that it had limited options but the choice of food was still varied enough that it wasn't a concern. The food was great and service was very good. The chips truly made for a fine dining experience and they were pure perfection 👍

I have eaten there twice now and has a mixed fish plater, then Hake for my main course. On both occasions I was blown away by the quality of cooking and cannot recommend it highly enough. Give them a try.
