Visited this restaurant without having booked for a Saturday lunch. They were busy but happily accommodated us. The greeting was friendly and the restaurant was bright, airy and had a good atmosphere. We had drinks promptly and the menus and any descriptions about the food were handled professionally and quickly by our waiter/s. The food was excellent, came well cooked, beautifully seasoned- as one would expect- and the portion sizes were more than adequate. The flavours of the sauces that came with my halibut were really good. Subtle but there, still allowing the chance to taste the main food element. The skin on my fish was good and crispy. We really wanted to try at least one of the more obscure sounding deserts but neither of us could manage the third course unfortunately. Toilets were clean and well presented. We will return soon.

Had high hopes but unfortunately they are baffling people with there name and really under delivering. You would be better off staying local to what you know. The food is mediocre and the staff don’t agree with complaints. Simply avoid like the plague

We visited the restaurant based on Atul’s reputation. The restaurant is nicely designed and staff seem very helpful. That’s the positives, the food unfortunately was average at best and have tasted much better. When a number of dishes have the same colour sauce, it does not bode well. The food was lukewarm warm and not that flavoursome. Shame I hade high expectations but the prices are high for average food and trading off Atuls name. Sadly we will not be returning.

Went for lunch with a voucher which includes a cocktail The food three courses was absolutely delicious I had chicken chat starter and my wife the samosas - both were delicious For my main I hag the lamb curry and she had sea bass My wife said it was superb melt in the mouth My lamb was so tender and beautifully spiced I would suggest you order a nan or paratha as well to supplement the meal Our waiter was ever so friendly and the service was great - just the right amount of time between course All in all highly recommended

Very poor experience. The food was OK, price at top end (but what we expected), but the service was dreadful. The half empty restaurant the Saturday before Christmas should have been a clue. Definitely will not be returning.

We were disappointed to pay £175 for 4 people (incl 12.5% service charge) for 4 mains, 2 veg & 1 salad, only one drink each which took ages to be ordered, and to arrive. It seemed that takeaway orders were given priority over restaurant service. We chose veg side dishes of black lentils and yellow lentils, tasty but both so liquid, like soup. We ordered (overpriced) poppadoms, the staff could not state if they were gluten-free, they just suggested that they come from India! We were given tiny amuse-bouches (chickpea something) which were so unpleasant two of us did not finish them! Soup bowls and spoons would have been more useful instead of the plates, knives and forks provided, as the mains consisted of tons of sauce with very little substance - just 4 or 5 king prawns in the King prawn curry. Macerated chicken in the Stir fry tandoori chicken. Unfortunately the hard floor makes the venue noisy when busy, conversation was difficult. The meal would have been satisfactory at about half the price.

We went for a fun night out and had the tasting menu. Everything was delicious though we struggled to finish the plates towards the end - it was a lot of food spread over about 2 hours. We had to leave the amazing dal mahkani half-eaten - a tragedy. Although each plate was delicious, I did not expect this chef to give us chicken tikka or prawns in sweet chili sauce. That is what I'd expect from a conventional suburban Indian restaurant but not from Atul Kochbar. Atul, please consider that we in Beaconsfield are far from any excellent/authentic Indian restaurants and that we come here for something more interesting, a bit different. Trust that your customers will like something more sophisticated and authentic. Having said that, I will come back again and hope the chef cooks with a bit more of an edge.

Starter consisted of one morsel of chicken tikka and 2 bits of broccoli. Mains was one small dish of prawns, one of chicken, one of lentils, one of rice, and one of cauliflower and potatoes. Each dish was for five people, so all had one prawn and one piece of chicken each. And poppodoms were £4 each. For £39 per person, it's definitely not value for money.

The food was beautifully presented and the portions adequate, but perhaps a little over priced. Service was attentive but as we were the only table in the restaurant not surprising .

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We chose the tasting menu, after having read several positive reviews. The food was lovely and well presented. I had lamb, my husband chose the venison for the main course, both were delicious. Service was super initially and we felt well looked after, we enjoyed the explanation of each course by our waiter stating where the dish originated and information about the balance of spices. However, I have only given 4 out of 5 as sadly the service fell down when our waiter disappeared- he had presumably finished his shift, and so for the last two courses, the service went appallingly slow, no one even looked in our direction as we tried to attract the attention of the staff so we could order coffee and ask for the bill. A disappointing end to what would have been an outstanding meal. I would have thought that a restaurant of that calibre would have some sort of policy in place for a change of shift.

We went to celebrate birthday. Couldn't have made a better choice . Really enjoyed both the food and the ambience. We were very well looked after by staff and catered for our dietary requirements. Really good food for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. I am definitely going again.

We had 5 small plates between two of us which were so delicious. We’ve eaten at a few Michelin star Indian restaurants and most of the small plates were just as good. Very impressed. Service was also excellent but it was quite a quiet evening.
