Shame on you. Waited in restaurant for a take away and realised we'd been overcharged on 2 main courses. Quietly tried to sort it out and they gave us money back but then another member of staff came over and challenged us and whipped the bill from us. We've been going there 10+ years and the customer service is now simply disgusting. Rip Off Merchants.

Tried this restaurant for collection take away about 4 times now since the closure of the best Indian in town (Basmati). Sajna is always late with collection, I have not arrived at the allotted time and collected my meal straight away, always have to sit and wait. Others do the same, one other waiting with me said that they only start preparing when you actually turn up. Then when you do get it, it is nothing special. So far, all the meals I have ordered taste pretty much the same, no real difference and all lacking in the spice of India. Always disappointed but maybe that is just because I have had such great Indian food elsewhere and I like flavours.

Sadly this establishment seems to concentrate more on take away meals than customers waiting in restaurant. In an empty restaurant we sat and waited for over an hour before our food arrived. This is shameful especially as we were paying more than those having carry out food. Need to decide what they are or they will lose most regular customers.

I tried Sajna for the first time almost by accident as I was heading for my normal local Indian, of which there are many to choose from in my area, but got diverted due to roadworks and forced to take s different route through Beaconsfield. I was looking for a takeaway rather than dining in the restaurant. I ordered a pilau rice, king prawn masala, cauliflower bhaji and a few poppadoms. The warm and friendly staff offered me a drink whilst I waited and I sat down whilst it was cooked. Although a small restaurant with around 10 tables it was half full quite early on a Wednesday, always a good sign. The meal took around 20 minutes to cook which proved it was cooked from fresh unlike many other Indian takeaways. When I got it home I was overjoyed at the quality and taste of the meal, which is a common order for me to make so I have many instances for comparison. Having also lived and worked in Dhaka Bangladesh for 18 months I consider myself an expert consumer of Indian/Bangladeshi food and this was outstanding. Although not cheap in comparison to my nearest Indian takeaway the cost was justified by the quality. I plan to use Sanja regularly now for both takeaways and dine in and really recommend it.

We recently moved to Beaconsfield and have been trying all the restaurants one by one, initially we went to another Indian which didn’t impress us and we thought this one was takeaway only, we have now had 2 meals here and thought the food was fantastic, very good quality, taste and volume of meat etc, Indian is our food of choice and it’s hard to impressive someone who eats this a lot around the world, but this place is just perfect and firmly our new local Indian of choice - thanks for the great food so far and very friendly service.

Terrible - this is the third time they have let us down so will never go back. Delivery requested and was told one hour. Fine. 90 minutes later nothing so called to ask where it was. Told a further 10-20 minutes. Food eventually arrived and no apology and even worse was completely cold. Again! The same thing has happened three times. I can forgive it once but now three times I can’t recommend them less.

We have used Sajna many times as both collect and delivery takeaway. Always good food. BUT we ordered our takeaway for collection at 5.30 as soon as they opened, knowing New Year's Eve would be busy. I was told if would be ready in 40/45 mins. I arrived at the takeaway at 6.05. I waited for another one hour and 40 mins, with a growing number of increasingly irritated customers. The staff kept tacking numerous orders by phone, and could clearly not cope with the orders already waiting. The manager eventually disappeared out the back to avoid questions from the customers waiting. If they had been honest and told us a realistic time, that would be OK. The counter was full of orders in no particular order of time order taken. Our last delivery was very late. Over an hour after due I'd rang to be told "it will be half an hour" so clearly they'd forgotten. We've been loyal and regular customers, but no more. Terrible greedy people.

I wanted to write this review to recognise the efforts of Sajna staff during the very difficult time we are experiencing at the moment. Owing to circumstances we have been unable to visit the restaurant but they have kept us supplied with frequent deliveries of their tasty dishes. They have always arrived as promised and piping hot too.We can't thank them enough and look forward to the day when we can visit them again.

We have often got takeaways from Sajna in the past, before lockdown, and they were consistently good. Last week we had our first in months and it was horrible. The chef seemed to have replaced spices with sugar. The chicken tikka masala had a sauce as sweet as custard. Yuk! The cauliflower bhaji was also sweet rather than spicy. The tandoori chicken was totally bland and rather dry. The naans were delicious as always but they were the only good things in a dreadful meal. I can only assume there has been a change of staff and I will not be returning.

In the past month I have eaten in this restaurant and ordered a take away for delivery. Both times the food was excellent and very tasty. Unfortunately when ordering for delivery the food turned up half an hour late. So disappointed, ordered our food and was delivered the wrong curry. My husband called and they were very apologetic, not a problem, we were happy they were willing to put the issue right. Brought the correct curry within 20 mins. This was great, until I started to eat it.... it was the hottest curry ever. I'm so disappointed. All I can think is they did this on purpose. I like a spicy curry but this was vindaloo hot and not the jalfrezzi I usually get delivered. Total waste of our hard earned money.

Four of us visited this tiny intimate restaurant for the first time yesterday for a Christmas get together, and found the establishment disappointing. Firstly, the tables are so small that the staff struggled to find space to put the dishes down. The white wine spritzers were flat, and the beer not chilled enough. Service was very hit and miss too, either eager on one hand, and then unattentive on the other. Every dish lacked flavour and was quite bland. The prawn puree starter, which usually has a bit of a 'kick' in terms of heat, was so mild that we had to spice it up a bit with a chutney left over from the popadoms. All the main courses, Chicken Dansak, Lamb Korai, Chicken Korai and vegetable curry all lacked any flavour whatsoever. The vegetable sides (mushroon bhaji, sag aloo and brinjil bhaji) again were subject to blandness. On the positive, portions sizes were generous, but I'm afraid thats about the only positive. When the popadoms and chutney tray proved the most flavoursome part of the meal, that says a lot. All four of us were unanimous in declaring this compact and bijou restaurant one of the most dull tasting and uninspired Indian meals we have tasted. Needless to say, we won't be back!

I feel disappointed at giving this a low 3 stars. When I went in August I posted how good it was. We went during the week then. Last night we went for my daughter’s birthday after I’d told them how good it was. The kitchen, and restaurant staff couldn’t cope with the restaurant and takeaway orders. Alarm bells should have rang when a couple sitting in the restaurant got up and said they would have their meal as a takeaway given they had been waiting over an hour and takeaways appeared to be going out. That was 7 pm ish. Things were missed from our orders, we had to remind them of drinks orders and service was extremely slow. I had the so called very hot dish and there was no chilli heat whatsoever. The starters were ok though. Everyone else said their meal was just about ok. To be fair when I said I was disappointed with mine the chap said I should have said something before I finished it. However, that would have meant taking my plate through the packed restaurant - people waiting for takeaway - because we were on the lower level and no one came to ask how it was. We felt forgotten at times. Given my first experience I would probably go back to try again but would go during the week and ask to be on the level near the counter.

They overcharged me (have subsequently refunded me £1!) but the food was cold, the prawn mossala had 4 prawns in yet they charged over £13. When I picked up the order, they were curt and rude, they have failed to reimburse me for the mossala. Moreover one dish was spilled in the bag, garlic naan had barely any garlic in it. We will certainly not be going back and am disgraced by their very very poor customer service once a complaint was made.

This review is a bit long but don't worry, it will be as entertaining as I can make it for your reading pleasure (as far as pleasure goes at Sajna). As most Indian dishes go at Sajna you can have the choice between: chicken, lamb, vegetables, prawns or even monk fish! The prawns in general are not a wow factor, still haven't tried the monk fish, and I won't. This is mainly because I won't return after what they have done with the meat. The meat used to be 11 stars out of 10 (the best in Beaconsfield). I usually get chicken or lamb, and they were so so succulent... I miss them! But now the meat has become drier and doesn't blend with the delicious Indian food. Also the food has begun to taste slightly more Pakistani, which is still nice, but being an Authentic Indian restaurant, I expect to get what I pay for. The chicken tikka used to be more creamy than spicy, now it's more spicy. The lamb tikka is now not as thick and vegetables have only been half-heartedly marinated and doubled because they seem to stick out like my tongue after eating their jalfrezi! So basically, if I have the attention of the staff at Sajna, PLEASE do something about your change in meat supplier or meat. You used to be astounding but now I lack the motivation to even pick up the phone to ask for even a popadom, and those are free with most meals. If it's not your meat, then maybe your chefs need to be of better quality training. Still, the restaurant has so much potential and it would be a waste not to experience what once used to be an excellent atmosphere, service and food.

We have been going to Sajna since they took over the old take-away some time ago. Now an eat-in restaurant as well as a take-away, this really is a notch above most others. The menu has some interesting dishes (such as special thawa and monkfish mossalla) as well as authentic takes on the standards (though way better than you will get almost anywhere else). Since becoming vegetarian nearly two years ago (well, pescatarian for the first year, to be honest) I still love going; there vegetarian curries are wonderful - who needs meat! We have had some quiet family meals, and some friends get-togethers, all well catered for with excellent service and fantastic food. It is not big, so needed to say no to "large groups", though we have had ten of us with no problem. Speciality of Balti? Odd question below, they do a Balti and it is good! Bangladeshi restaurant - as far as I know; personelle that I know certainly are Bangladeshi, but is the cuisine? Certainly tastey! Special occasions? Well, it's not vover posh, if that's what you want. It is really friendly, great service and amazing food - that's what I want for a special occasion, so I say yes! Do give it a try; you will be back more than once!

There are some curry behemoths in Beaconsfield (The Spice Merchant, The Old Bengal) and they are very good - we're spoiled tbh. But the pick of the bunch is the smallest. Sajna only has around 8 tables but that makes for a far more personable atmosphere. Most of the diners seem to be regulars which is always a good sign. And you can understand why when you taste the food. Excellent. Nothing overly fancy, just top quality spiced delights. Recommended 100%.

I have lived near beaconsfield for just over a year and have struggled to find a good curry that ticks every box. Sajna was recommended to us so we gave it a try. The first time we ordered the food was amazing. They forgot my lime pickle but we let that go as mistakes happen. A week later I ordered again. I ordered my usual. 3 popadoms. Lime pickle. Garlic naan. Chick madras with mushroom rice and a chick pakora starter. I asked for some extra menus to pass to friends. The food arrived and was cold. It was missing the rice and had no menus. No problem. I put the oven on and thought I'd have the popadoms whilst I wait for the rice. I called them and was told I didn't order a rice. I explained that I would not order a curry without ordering a rice. I explained that mistakes happen and could I order a rice and have it here asap. I was told I would have to wait 1.30hours for it and would need to pay another £4 delivery charge. I was told it was my mistake. Next time I order I should make sure the order was right. I was told they were busy. No one apologised. No one tried to help resolve the issue. I spoke with three different people who were rude. It's a shame because the food is pretty good. But food isn't everything. I will never eat here again. I will never recommend this restaurant. The attitude towards customers is shocking !

Rather good and some of the best Indian food I have had recently. Good choice, well presented, great flavour and good atmosphere. 10 in party and probably 20 covers so small but great friendly service and good intimate atmosphere. Recommended highly.

Read a lot of very good reviews by other Trip Advisor users, and chose this place for a meal with the in laws on that basis.Don't want to be too negative in the face of all that positivity, and in fact my own meal was very nice indeed, but there was a "sameness" and "sweetness" to the other 3 dishes that were shared. I was slightly surprised & disappointed, and would probably choose from the other options in the area in future.

Came here for a family dinner and was very disappointed. The main problem is that they only have 8 tables so to be commercially viable, they seem to focus on takeaways. This means the guests in the restaurant get poor service and there is always a queue of people standing / waiting in the restaurant. We waited 15 minutes just to get our table laid and another 10 for drinks to appear. Food took over an hour to arrive. During this time the waiters spent a lot of their time dealing with telephone orders for takeaways. So service was poor for those in restaurant. This meant that dirty plates stayed on our tables for a long time and the big table next to us took over 30 minutes to clear once the previous occupants had gone.On top of this the waiter hadn’t exactly graduated from charm school. And the prices are top end so all in all poor value for money. Our food finally arrived and it was good but by that point I was vowing that we would never come here again and go to one of the other Beaconsfield restaurants that caters / focuses on guests in the restaurant.

There are many high standard Indian restaurants in the South Buckinghamshire area, some with various award claims and a few with high end pretensions. Despite the competition, Sanja is the one we keep coming back to. High standard food and friendlier service than the rest. Its small, plain but clean decor and comfortable. The Hari Mirchi curry is recommended, the house wine good and the best value Indian in town.

I regularly visit Sajna for takeaway curry (vegetable balti) and I am never left disappointed! Food is consistently hot and flavoursome and service is very friendly and accommodating. This place is by far my favourite in Beaconsfield, such a gem! Thanks guys!!!

The restaurant is very small with just a few tables but despite this we had to wait a long time for our food because it seemed that people taking food away were given priority. However the excellent food made up for this problem. Everything was excellent. Before leaving the manager/owner (?) came over to apologize for the delay and offered us a complimentary drink of limoncello. Overall it was a good experience.

This used to be a mediocre takeaway and then magically it turned into a sit down restaurant. I've visited twice in recent months and wow, where did they get the chef from! The food has been excellent at a price point that equals the local competition which has not been as strong recently as in years gone by.Sajna deserves to do well because the effort they are putting into food, presentation, and service is a winning combination.

Whether you have a takeaway or dine in, the food is always good. The chef's recommendations encouraged to you to try different dishes and they never disappoint.

We moved to Wooburn Green a year ago and have been struggling to find a great curry house! After 5 failed attempts at other local curry houses we thought we would try Sajna... well what a great decision we made we only had a take out and it was amazing!! Truly delicious the best curry house for miles and definately worth a visit!!! 5***** will be returning very soon! :D

There are more expensive Indian restaurants in the area, there are larger ones too. But for quality of food and service you can't beat Sajna. The standard dishes are anything but and the chef's specials are special indeed. Small, friendly, perfect.

We popped in for a curry on the way home one evening and are now firm fans - a recommendation in itself as there are three other Indian restaurants within walking distance of our home that we need to pass in order to get to Sajna. Food and service are both excellent - staff are so welcoming and find time to make you feel valued as customers despite it being pretty busy whenever we have visited. It is a small place so it's always worth calling ahead if possible. Already looking forward to our next visit!

We've been looking for a new takeaway since our old favourite went into decline. Decided to try Sajna as my father was over and he loves his curry. We were delighted with what we had, everything was excellent, couldn't find fault with a single dish. We went and picked it up and found the staff excellent and helpful, didn't have to wait at all. Think we've just found our new go-to Indian!

My husband and I had a takeaway from here on Sunday and it was lovely. We have eaten in the restaurant before which was equally as good. Each dish tasted superb. The only additional comments that we can give are:* The naan bread was not the top quality we would expect* We were advised to collect the food in 30 minutes but when we arrived it took another 15 minutes to be readyWe will be back!

There are many reasons why not to open a curry house in Beaconsfield - for example, The Spice Merchant, The Old Bengal and Basmati - but two visits in a week suggest Sajna can hold its own - and should be better known. It's tiny - not many more than 20 covers - so booking probably required on the weekend - and I, like most I have talked to, thought it was only a takeaway. Some excellent dishes not found in the Old Town, reasonable wine list (needs a wider selection - Pinot Noir and Reisling perhaps) and great service - we will be back many times!

Previously a take away only it's been converted into a small almost boutiquey type place. Serves pretty standard Indian cuisine, but with some great staff serving you. Very friendly, and that makes a lot of difference.

Have had many takeaways and the food is very good - would definitely recommend a takeaway or sitting in the restaurant. However I am really disappointed in the customer service - i.e timings to collect your takeaway. They always say half hour to collect but in reality the food takes up to 1 hour or more. They really need to start being more honest and realistic with their timings as I'm now quite peed off with the constant delays to the food/takeaways being ready - so much so that I won't be rushing back for a takeaway. If they do read their reviews then please take note that you are losing customers due to your lack of honesty re timings - it is simply not good enough and it spoils an evening when they are constant delays.

I ordered a take away and was told it would be half an hour. I arrived 40 minutes later to pick it up. It was clear when I arrived that they were totally overwhelmed. They said they were just packing but what was clear was that they had not even started to cook the food yet and I had to wait a further half hour. If you are that overwhelmed just tell people ordering it will be an hour, or stop taking orders for ten minutes; as the restaurant was also full and people waiting to order. It is also worth noting that the restaurant has no waiting area, so if you are forced to wait half an hour you basically feel you are ruining the people in the restaurant s meal as you are so close to them....They did try to apologise and the food was very good. I strongly recommend however, asking how long your order will actually take!

Three times I have had a take away from there and had the same experience. We ring and order and they give us a time to collect. We arrive just after the given time and have to wait for up to 45 minutes in the small restaurant. We are not the only ones waiting so it is obviously a reoccurring theme. I feel bad for those eating in the restaurant who are surrounded by people waiting for their takeaway. I would rather they were honest with times, than be economical with the truth to get the business. Food was alright when it eventually arrived though twice we have had dishes missing. Wouldn't recommend unfortunately.

Really astonishing how Riwaz can produce such great food for the price of the £23 lunch menu, i’m not sure I can remember when I last had such good value for money. My first visit but shall return and branch out onto other menus. Many thanks for such good service

Great service from them, we've ordered several times now. They're also super nice on the phone and in person, and more than happy to accommodate our needs (veggie/vegan so no ghee for instance) Food feels fresh, and when we need it to be spicy, they do it well. It's going to become a regular takeaway for us! Thank you!
