Iāve been coming here for food for a while and itās always deliciously prepared and served by very friendly and welcoming staff. Itās a lovely cafe situated in a quiet side road in the centre of Ticehurst village, well worth seeking out, keep your eyes peeled for the sign for The Courtyard Cafe. The breakfasts set you up for the day and the lunches are amazing, I had the homemade quiche with chips and salad which was all homemade by the lovely staff and it was so delicious. Daily specials are also available including teas, coffees and cake. Good size portions, with seating outside for sunny days and very clean inside with plenty of seating. Ample parking available at the village car park just round the corner from the cafe, itās a really friendly place to relax and so worth a visit. Will be going back again very soon.

This is a little gem in a rural position, a regular for walkers, we go there for the restaurant, very nicely presented inside, the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. We have never had an issue with the food, it is superb, prices are good for the standard you get. The beer on tap comes from a local well known rockstars own brewery and is really good. We highly recommend this local pub/restaurant

We ate here recently and it is very good, we often eat at the sister restaurant which is also exceptional. However, the most recent lunch was a very tough piece of cow which we had to chew and chew for ages until the final swallow. When we questioned the waitress she explained āwe are using a sustainable part of the cow that no one eatsā Which in my simple mind was ridiculous, I let the waitress know that our repeat business wasnāt sustainable if we have to eat that. A chuckle amongst us all. I hope they soon realise this and revert to using parts of the cow that are tasty and not chewy.

What a find! A fantastic cafe just off the main village high street. Lovely breakfast and the coffee is good too. Dog friendly but clean and quirky. Itās obviously popular with the locals as some customers coming in were greeted by name. Attentive staff and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!

Positives - Free parking (provided you remember to check in at the bar on arrival). Warm welcome. Dog friendly. Good value drinks. Had only intended to stop for a quick drink on the way home, but ordered a takeaway fish & chips from the pub side before we left (2 cod & 1 x large chips). All cooked to perfection. For info, large chips does actually mean large portion!). Less positives - Quite chilly in the bar, and only two other customers in the time we were there, which was probably 1 1/2 hours. Hopefully, The Royal Oak will gain more support and customers as winter turns to spring, and can avoid having to close like 2 other pubs close by in Lamberhurst.

At the Weralden Smokery you can combine your shopping with a great take away. The food is delicious and served by very friendly helpful staff. My wife is Gluten Free but she was able to find somnething to eat. I would certainly recommend the quiche. You can also combine your shopping with your take away. There is a great choice of products both food and gifts, etc.

I stopped Monday 17th March. Was hoping for the pub to be honest, but well... Pretty impressed with the fish n chips. Had a middle of skate, chips, curry sauce and a Fanta. All cooked fresh to order. All good. Would recommend if ya either local or in the area. Oh, and good luck getting the pub going lads. Top job š

Apologies for the massive delay is this but we visited the pub while in town for a wedding. We were blown away with just how nice the food and particularly the service was. Some of the friendliest staff Iāve ever experienced. We were served by Shannon and Gina and they couldnāt have done more for us even though the place was packed! Thank you all and sorry this is wildly over due.

Great pub in the high street in Burwash East Sussex have eaten in several times over the past 3 months and have not been disappointed the Sunday lunch is getting very busy so recommend you book your table so not to miss out. Home made pie are delicious and very popular with the local villages. Lovely family run pub with amazing views of Dudwell valley and accommodation. Well worth a visit. š
