I’ve been coming here for food for a while and it’s always deliciously prepared and served by very friendly and welcoming staff. It’s a lovely cafe situated in a quiet side road in the centre of Ticehurst village, well worth seeking out, keep your eyes peeled for the sign for The Courtyard Cafe. The breakfasts set you up for the day and the lunches are amazing, I had the homemade quiche with chips and salad which was all homemade by the lovely staff and it was so delicious. Daily specials are also available including teas, coffees and cake. Good size portions, with seating outside for sunny days and very clean inside with plenty of seating. Ample parking available at the village car park just round the corner from the cafe, it’s a really friendly place to relax and so worth a visit. Will be going back again very soon.

Ok I don’t normally do this but I feel this has to be said, me and my son popped In for sausage rolls but didn’t have any which was fine ,the lady did suggest a bacon sandwich which we opted for 2 x bacon sandwich’s both brown sauce 1 with sliced mushrooms and 2 x teas. I must point out the hospitality was fine no issues there. £20.25p. Way too expensive but because I ordered I felt obligated to pay. When took the sandwiches back to the car and it was terrible Pre cooked bacon that must of been sitting under a hot lamp dry as dry, the bread was thin, the mushrooms just cut in quarters so didn’t really stay in the sandwich brown sauce missing in 1. For that price honestly I little more effort would go a long way but unfortunately I won’t be returning Last word if the quality matched the price then I wouldn’t have a problem paying that amount.

Dined here twice when staying in the area. Food very good but overpriced; portions sizes very small for starters and desserts. First visit staff lovely and welcoming; last night not to so good. Despite booking I was told that I’d have to vacate the table as it was booked for 19.30; this was at 18.15 and before we had even sat down; this was not very welcoming at all. We then felt pressured to make our choices and eat quickly ; in fact when it came to asking for the bill the card machine was presented before the bill. On the basis of our last experience we would not return or recommend.

At the Weralden Smokery you can combine your shopping with a great take away. The food is delicious and served by very friendly helpful staff. My wife is Gluten Free but she was able to find somnething to eat. I would certainly recommend the quiche. You can also combine your shopping with your take away. There is a great choice of products both food and gifts, etc.

Apologies for the massive delay is this but we visited the pub while in town for a wedding. We were blown away with just how nice the food and particularly the service was. Some of the friendliest staff I’ve ever experienced. We were served by Shannon and Gina and they couldn’t have done more for us even though the place was packed! Thank you all and sorry this is wildly over due.

Great pub in the high street in Burwash East Sussex have eaten in several times over the past 3 months and have not been disappointed the Sunday lunch is getting very busy so recommend you book your table so not to miss out. Home made pie are delicious and very popular with the local villages. Lovely family run pub with amazing views of Dudwell valley and accommodation. Well worth a visit. 😊

Draft and wines always good. It's not ponsey, a traditional pub which is a rarity in this part of the world.
