I hired Bar Aroma for my 30th birthday party. I would like to say thank you so much to all the staff at Bar Aroma for organising and hosting such a great party. Bar Aroma recommended singer Archie Mac who was absolutely amazing! I would also definitely recommend hiring the decorations supplied by Bar Aroma. Everything was organised by yourselves to perfection from start to finish. All my friends and family had a great time!

Came here on a Saturday morning. Very busy but lovely atmosphere. We were seated despite not booking but only just. Obviously a very popular spot! Lovely coffee and food.

Sandwich was good, sub roll was alright. But the toastie wasnt really a toastie, looks like the bread was very lighty tostied then filling added then microwaved. Was soft damp not a crispy toasted sandwich.

What a lovely family run tea room / Cafe, nice decor, friendly well respected staff, saw a little girl specially bring in a drawing for the obviously much loved owner. Great prices for extremely good quality food, a very healthy breakfast as hardly any fat used during cooking. For a very small price I upgraded to a hot chocolate with cream instead of having the tea or coffee included in the Breakfast price. Also get a proper milky milkshake, not that thick ice cream mix that a lot of places serve, can have cream on top if you want it. If you want nice crispy chips or Hash Brown just ask and that will be done for you.

Visiting family and friends in Portsmouth again so decided to go to my favourite Chinese takeaway in Portsmouth. I was a bit worried after seeing the recent reviews, but nothing to worry about. Service and food is still great as it’s always been. My sesame prawn on toast was a generous portion of minced prawns on the toast and just so tasty. I also had the house special chow mein, which had a lots of delicious vegetables in as well as chicken , prawns and pork. The other members of my family also loved their dishes. The young girl serving me was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I suspect the reviews from some of other people obviously don’t enjoy freshly cooked food. They probably like food enhanced with artificial flavouring like MSG. I go to Pearl of the Orient because I enjoy tasting food as it should be and not over seasoned with MSG . I actually get bad headaches from food that has MSG so I so glad Pearl of the Orient caters for people like me.
