Great vibe and food from breakfast to dinner. The atmosphere is great and the service amazing. The little italian sweet treats are always a must and food just tastes so gooood! 😍

Went for coffee & bacon sandwich & my wife had tea and another sandwich. Very nice food.bren a few times now. Choice of bread available and service fairly quick( it was very busy) staff very friendly..

We love Bar Aroma; just knowing we’ll be there lifts our spirits, whether it’s for our morning coffee or a breakfast of excellent proportions and flavour. Everything is delicious with an Italian flair: the coffee, the quality of the desserts, the seasoning of the food, and you can even find Italian products if that’s your thing. What we enjoy most is the good energy from the staff—they make us feel welcome and at home. They’re the kind of team that motivates you to come back; they remember your name, what you like and what you don’t. It’s clear they do everything with love and passion, and that’s always appreciated when receiving good service. They’re pet-friendly, organise activities with local artists, and you can also book them for important events like Christmas dinner. There are lovely details all around the place, and there are extra services that are much appreciated, like a place to hang your coat and self-service water. The atmosphere is visually pleasing, with photos and touches of Italy. They sell alcohol too :) after all, it’s a bar, hehe. We’re so happy to have places like this in Portsmouth.

I have been here twice now and each time the food gets tastier, the service is unbelievable and so friendly, I'm a food snob and don't usually like the way cafes do eggs but these guys are perfect, orange yolk and super runny, I live in southsea so if I'm willing to come out of town for a breaky then you know it's decent. Thanks guys

Bar Aroma hosted a private 30th Birthday for us and from beggining to end the whole thing was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble as regards dressing the Venue and they communicated with us step by step on the plans, food, decor, music and overall ambience to make it a fantastic and memorable evening. Mike and Kim and team are amazing hosts and they have a real personal service, nothing was too much trouble. Don't hesitate to book. 5 stars guys well done 👏

We found Bar Aroma very busy as you would expect with such a friendly and warm atmosphere, the staff were all very supportive and I'll go back at my earliest convenience. Though we only had drinks so next time we'll try the food.

Great to see a cafe that is Italian but not a full sized resturant. Authentic food with perfect snack sized portions. Great for lunch time. Edit. This cafe is still nice - Lovely staff and food, however since moving to the new location, it's lost some of its appeal. The cafe is over crowded. Sadly feels they are being a bit greedy. Tables too close together and feels uncomfortable to sit inside. Ive changed to 4 stars due to currently being crammed in next to another couple with no space to move.

Highly recommend bar aroma for any party/Event. We had our annual work summer party at Bar Aroma. The night was the best so far. From the initial booking to the night itself it ran smoothly without a hitch. Kim the events planner kept in touch and made sure all of our requests were met. The venue is already beautiful with its decor and fairy lights but they added some other details to fit our summer party theme, along with party lights the atmosphere was perfect. We hired the singer Brooke Star for the evening who was incredible. The Italian grazing table was delicious and catered for all. Most importantly the staff were fantastic, they were friendly & accommodating, there was never a wait at the bar, glasses always being cleared and they all went above and beyond. Thank you to the whole team at Bat Aroma for an amazing night, we will defo be back. xx

Booked for 'Show night' with Archie Mac with dinner. . It was perfect- from the canapés, to the complimentary glass of prosecco, to the dinner itself. Convivial atmosphere, fabulous, knowledgeable waiting staff and of course, Archer Mac who had an incredible range and sings beautifully! All round, a wonderful evening- can't wait for the next one!

Lovely little family run eatery, Italian style. Delicious food and drink served by lovely, friendly staff. One of the best hot chocolates I have ever tasted. Certainly not a milky milkshake, very thick ice-cream creation.

Pleasant place to dine and meet

Unfortunately as a group of 11 we did not have the best experience. We had pre booked our table so notice was given for our evening to start at 19:30. We were advised that a few drinks were not available as they did not have the sprits in stock. We were then advised to wait 10-15mins before we could order to ensure that food was prepared and bought out in time together. When ordering after deciding what we wanted, we were then told a few foods were off the menu and the staff needed to keep checking back with the kitchen that they had particular orders available. We understand that not all foods are always available but advising us before we decided what we wanted before ordering would have been thoughtful considering we needed to wait extra time before ordering food. The food did not come out all together, cold platters seemed to come out last which was unusual. I had asked for the pesto and mozzarella burger - I had no pesto in my burger, if anything I had some chutney so I wasn’t quite sure what was going on there. Very small portions for the price of a main meal, my burger was also quite watery. The waitresses were kind, helpful and they listened but it just seemed quite unorganised and a bit chaotic. We were unsure who was actually in the kitchen as the food standard wasn’t great. It was a really big shame.

Such a lovely restaurant, the place is decorated amazingly with such a cosy feel, the staff are lovely and service is great (was quite quick for how busy they were). The food was DELICIOUS I went for the homemade granola with yoghurt fresh berries and maple syrup and it was probably the best lunch I’ve ever had the yoghurt was nice and thick and the maple syrup added a lovely sweet flavour, the people that I came here with had a panini and a small cooked breakfast and they both said it was delish. Will definitely be coming again soon

Went here for brunch, didn't have what I initially wanted to settled for avocado and eggs in toast. Avocado was very lemony and a little sour. Wife's tuna melt was again average. Not bad food but top end cafe prices. Croissants not fresh.

Was looking for a place where my business partner and I could grab a light bite, breakfasty type of meal. This place was suggested; great choice. We both had smashed avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread with baby vine tomatoes....bloody delicious!!

The food was extremely high quality, I’d like to personally thank the chef Tom, who went above and beyond to make sure our order was delivered perfectly. The waiting staff were also delightful, making me feel extremely welcomed.

What a fab place to eat gorgeous authentic Italian food. The food was delicious, especially the Gorgonzola, mushroom and spinach lasagna.... wow. I like the concept of smaller plates but thought they were expensive. The place was full and very loud, difficult to have a conversation without shouting. Staff very welcoming.

This place, and all the staff are utterly delightful. I regularly pop in for a mocha and one of their delicious flatbreads, and it's like being greeted by friends. The whole place is buzzy and an interesting place to meet friends or sit alone and enjoy the fab coffee... Can highly recommend it- and if the chocolate almond cake is on offer, please try some, you won't be disappointed!!...

First time in since they have moved to the new premises. Very friendly and welcoming, the place is bright and airy, with easy access. I had a piadina, which was lovely, and both my wife and I had coffee and cake. The cake choice available was quite limited, but we did go in an hour before they shut, so I didn't get to have their amazing Tirimisu. My wife had coffee cake, which was delicious!

Suggest you book if you don't want to be disappointed. Lovely staff the atmosphere feels like.your in Italy. Chatting and eating in a nice environment. The coffee tastes good before you take a sip as the smell is delicious. My homemade soup was full of flavour. The pizza was too much for lunch. A box was supplied I'm sure Janet enjoyed that too. And a very reasonable price too. Will definitely be trying a Friday or Saturday night.

Visited last night for a valentines meal. We had such a lovely time, the atmosphere was perfect. The staff were all brilliant and we loved the live singer. Thank you all. We can't wait to come back.

Came for early supper before comedy night. Sharing platters were only food on tonight but they were simply delicious lovely balanced selection of meats, cheeses and bread. Drinks had by all were well made a good selection of cocktails. Service was slow though unfortunately. Toilets lovely and clean. Will definitely make a return visit would like to try out during the day to sample the coffee.... Managed to revisit for coffee. Delicious coffee, excellent Italian sweets. Very busy a sign of a great place. Only let down this visit is that dogs seem to be allowed. I am not a lover of dogs in places that serve food, myself and my baby did not enjoy the dog that was yapping at other dogs sat next to us ☹️

Such a great little place found it a few weeks ago first visit was just for a coffee . Perfect 👌 . Second visit had some food the flat breads 🍞 😋 and coffee ☕️ 👌. Then had to have the tiramisu that was looking at me in the counter . Yummy. Well be back soon !!

I am a coffee connoisseur and the coffee was the best I've ever had. My mother is a tea drinker but opted for a cappuccino and founded it amazing. After being so impressed popped back later for lunch. Superb pizza. Last but not least the service was second to non really attentive and genuinely friendly. Can't wait to visit again.
