Well cooked beautifully presented and a taste to die for one of the very best fish and chips I've ever had.

Took my brother -in-law and his wife along on Saturday 25th January 2025 for lunch. Due to us missing his 60th birthday bash we thought this would allow us to celebrate with him belatedly. Three out of four of us ordered steak. Two rib-eye and one fillet. Cooked medium. We have travelled extensively and eaten in a wide variety of eateries from pubs, street vendors to Michelin 1 and 2 star. Obviously as our spend increases so do our expectations. But even at the starting level the steaks should be edible. Mine was very chewy and I can get through most things. A decent quality steak should not be hard work. It is very unusual for me to quit. But after chewing and chewing and chewing, I threw in the towel. I spoke to the waitress and said "can you ask the chef to try the uneaten and unmolested piece (half of the steak was untouched) to see if they agree?" Well she came back and tried to tell me that Rib-eye tends to be chewy! OK, won't be making that mis-steak again!!! March 1st 2025 is my wife's birthday and we'll be going back to HAWKSMOOR at Seven Dials near Covent Garden in London. Yes it will be more expensive but then again it won't be because I know it will be good steak, well cooked and no excuses about it being chewy. PS - My wife only ate about half of her fillet steak because again it was very chewy.

The cafe is super cute and a lovely space to be in, very cosy for the wintery day that was out. Food was nice but nothing particularly special and in my opinion a little overpriced for what it is. Large menu and lots of variety. The cakes looks brilliant so I'd love to go back and try them!

We have never been here before and decided to meet our family for lunch to try it out. We all enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the food was enjoyable and the waitress really pleasant. So we would definitely return and recommend it.

Difficult to say how terrible our experience was. Firstly the welcome service was good, fun and relaxing.Then the food came out. We didn't get what we wanted, 2 dishes had to he returned, a replacement came but was just as appaulling. I did complain to the owner, and suggested he charged me what he thought it was worth. £30 from a £90 meal says it all. I made a point of not making my comments made in front of other dinners, but they also felt as though it wasn't up to par. If you want to take the risk and roll the dice, take a visit, but I suggest you look elsewhere.

Strange little place, not unwelcoming but not welcoming. Frosty stares from the locals you'd think they'd be happier about their local making a few extra pennies. Not sure I'd visit again if I was passing by.

Note - not sure if it makes a difference but we used the takeaway rather than the restaurant. Really, really awful food! I can’t imagine anyone enjoying it. Flavourless and greasy. We definitely won’t use again.

Stayed here in one of the bed-and-breakfast rooms… whilst the staff were fabulous, polite and helpful. My room was directly next to the courtyard of the beer garden, and it was soooooo noisy . Yes, I understand it’s a public house but if they are going to offer accommodation, it should be well away from drinking areas. My window was literally 5 m away from the tables outside and everyone was screaming and shouting. Do not stay here if you want a peaceful night sleep.

The service offered by the team at Chilston Park Restaurant - Culpeper's, today was second to none. From start to finish - fantastic service! Compliments to the chef on a great menu with something to offer for all tastes and requirements. The cheese platter in particular, was excellent.

Ghastly !!! Dry rock dry haddock ,batter over cooked and tasteless definitely frozen fish ,tasted and looked old chips were greasy ,fatty and dry ,awful

I have been using this Cafe for about four years and I always find the atmosphere warm and friendly and the food is always delicious and good value. Sometimes it’s very busy so the service can be a little slow but as I’m not in any particular hurry (if I’m eating out I make sure I can have plenty of time as I feel it isn’t a good idea to have a limited window just in case of unforeseen circumstances) I would definitely recommend this Cafe and the building itself is absolutely lovely as is Lenham Square.

Absolutely the, BEST kebab shop on the high street, Their homemade chilli sauce is incredible And the shish… amazing!!

Chilston Manor hotel is a lovely hotel with friendly staff but I and my husband were very disappointed with what they call a luxury afternoon tea…we had three little finger sandwich's with hardly any filling in them….dry scones…what was nice was the sausage roll,we had to ask for the tea as it didn’t arrive,when it did it was stewed & strong…will be returning NO !!!!
