This place was buzzing on this Saturday night in September! There were 6 of us and most of the other tables were also groups and families. I was a little disappointed that the bean chilli was not available so had to have the vegan burger (with a gluten free bun) but the waiter was very apologetic and all my friends were delighted with their options!

Remember coming to this pub with my family when I was ten so had to come back 40 odd years later. Disappointed the coffin by the door was gone 😂 but it was a real highlight of our trip. Our dogs were welcomed and fussed over and the food at lunch was amazing, so tasty. Really friendly staff and all the facilities were spotless. Fantastic views over the garden too. A lovely trip down memory lane

I booked the lifeboat for our Christmas lunch ( medina park ) for the 3rd year on the run, the meal was excellent as it has previously been the staff were very attentive and we had praises all round I even had request to come here again next year . All I can say is well done Cheryl and all the staff. Thank you for looking after us so well. Jane

My wife arranged a surprise 'magical mystery' bike ride, on the Isle of Wight, as a pre-birthday treat for me, which included a lunch, at Off the Rails. We were greeted by a friendly and smiley waitress, who showed us to our table, by the window. The view was lovely, the 'train car' setting was quirky and fun, the menus were newspapers, which made choosing our food and drink fun too. The customer service was attentive, without feeling rushed, and the food was amazing! My burger and chips came served in a wooden suitcase, which was certainly a first for me. We enjoyed every mouthful, and so we just had to sample the desserts too, which were not a disappointment either. Prices were very reasonable and everything there was clean and well presented. I'd definitely recommend a visit, but you might want to book, just in case. Keep up the good work everyone at Off the Rails, great job!

Great little find! Out for the day and really fancied Sunday lunch. Hit the jackpot here! Made so welcome by Lauren and her staff. Nothing too much trouble. "Of course, no problem" response to every question. Loved that serve 2 sizes of meals as we tend to waste so much nowadays. The roast was delicious, real food cooked well and served with a smile. They even provided me with a takeaway dessert as I had no room for it at the time. We highly recommend.

It's always great to visit and buy things from the lovely range of products, made in the Far East, at the Oasis. Great eatery and best bread pudding ever. Mrs Bridges Marmalade takes some beating. Great place to get presents for Christmas. A F.

The Hut was a fantastic experience! The service was impeccable and the atmosphere and music was perfect holiday vibes! Starters were great, however we were slightly underwhelmed by the Lemon Sole main that that flavour unfortunately. Everything else was fabulous!

Haven't been here for years and had forgotten how good it was. In our opinion the best fish and chips around at the moment. Friendly service, freshly cooked large portions at a sensible price. Plenty of choice of extras if fish is not your thing. Only downside is the limited parking spaces on the road. One little oddity, in this day and age, they only take cash.

A lot of hype around the restaurant, but unfortunately was more style over substance during our visit. Despite a large number of staff working, long wait be offered a drink at the bar (we were one of 3 couples there as arrived at the start of the evening so not busy). Some other guests clearly disappointed with the location of their table in the middle of the walkway of the staff so would recommend asking for a table by the window. The fish was decent but when you charge £38 for the veal milanese without sides, I was expecting more than it delivered. Overall, for the price, would expect more and a slightly disappointing experience.

We have been here many times over the years and looked forward to our visit again this year. What a disappointment. We had a cream tea which consisted of a pot of tea, 2 scones, butter, cream and jam. The jam and cream pots were half the size they used to be and the butter was barely there, adequate enough for one scone but certainly not two. The jug of milk supplied did not have enough milk for one cup of tea and we had to ask for extra. I do not drink tea and asked for my tea to be substituted with coffee, big mistake, it was undrinkable. Went we went to pay we were told 'cash only' and I was lucky to find some cash in the bottom of my bag. This should be made clear when you enter and before you order as a lot of people do not carry cash. Our experience was so different to every other visit we wondered if there were 'new owners' but overheard the owner telling other visitors that she had been there 17 years. Sadly will not be returning.
