Ignore the review that referred to the location of this cafe resembling a scrapyard and an overgrown garden. In fact they are Fort View (tyre replacement) and The Coastal Gardener (plant nursery), both of which are long established and well regarded local businesses. As for The View, it has a superlative position overlooking the Solent and backed by a farm, a campsite and an antiques business. It’s a very nice spot, easy to miss from the road, but well worth seeking out. The cafe has been completely and tastefully refurbished, and the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The menu is varied with very fresh ingredients and a ‘Mediterranean’ feel. I am sure they deserve to succeed and wish them all the best.

You turn into their drive, and immediately you are looking at old cars, caravans and an overgrown, uncared for garden. The cafe is tiny, but there is outside seating with good sea views, although the garden seating is extremely tatty. The whole place needs smarting up and money spent to improve the surroundings. The food was nice but tiny portions for the money, and small bottles of coke at £3 each. The cafe has changed hands recently, so let's hope they do well. Certainly there are better cafes in the area.

The View recently re opened under new ownership this month so was excited to pop along and try out the breakfast one Sunday as it's very local to where we live. Ignore any dodgy review prior to May 24. Amazing views, hence the name! A real suntrap to sit out side in the warmer months! Breakfast was decent and really friendly staff. We've been back several times and also had a lunch there which again, was very nice and decent portions sizes!! Definitely going to be back a lot more aswell as it's perfect location almost on my doorstep.

Great little spot with nice seating by the beach. We wanted fresh donuts and struggled to find anyone doing them until we were lucky enough to find this place. Great selection of cocktails, slushies, ice creams and milkshakes. Friendly staff, nice vibe here, would recommend for your next visit to Shanklin.

What a fantastic little find this cafe was and so close to the ferry port, we stopped in for something to eat and it was such a lovely place the owners were all smiles and happy to help with anything, my husband was after a panini but they don't do them he went with a wrap instead and he was asked if he would like that toasted which was nice of them to ask, my son had a sausage baguette and was so shocked at all the meat in it (most places don't give you a decent amount) to which he happily tucked into, I had a jacket potato with beans and having a dairy intolerance they offered me the dairy free alternative to the usual butter I also had a tea with oat milk and the husband had a coffee, our youngest son had a cheese sandwich which he didn't eat but that's because he saw chocolate biscuits his favourite biscuits to be fair again no drama as we asked for it to be wrapped so we could take it with us (he ate it in the car while waiting for the ferry), Vic and Dan are amazing and I would definitely recommend this little cafe there prices are fair and you get a decent amount of food as well, if we do return to isle of wight for a holiday again we will definitely be back.

Recommended by a friend who lives on the island and wasn’t disappointed. Good service. Good coffee. Good cake. What’s not to like!
